  • In the middle of the year I visited one of my favorite cities in Southeast Asia so I could see the best of Singapore 2023 in 4 days.
The first day in Singapore I dedicated almost exclusively to the bay, or rather to Marina Bay, where the famous Marina by Sands hotel, the ArtScience Museum and the national symbol of Singapore, the Merlion, half lion half fish are located. . I crossed the bay via the Helix Bridge, a true feat of engineering that has won several world awards, to reach the Gardens by the Bay, a gigantic $1 billion park where the Supertree Groves are located. These super trees are an example of sustainability since, thanks to their photovoltaic cells, they illuminate these same trees in their night show and also those known as the greenhouses of the bay, the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest, two of the essentials if you travel to Singapore. Although I have an excruciating fear of heights, I went up the OCBC Skywalk, a walkway that joins the two tallest artificial trees in the park. In the area I was also able to enjoy the cuisine of Singapore, its food is really impressive, although on this trip I have also made a mistake with a restaurant where I have paid to be a tourist. In the afternoon I visited the Arab Quarter, known as Kampong Glam, where the first capsule hotel of the two I had on this trip was located. This neighborhood is very recognizable for housing the Singapore Mosque, or Sultan Mosque. In the evening I went back to the Gardens by the Bay and to the Bay to see their light shows.
The second day I dedicated to China Town, where I visited the Tooth Relic Temple, a truly spectacular Buddhist temple where a Buddha's tooth is kept in a stupa of more than 300 kilos of gold.
At night I watched the sunset at Clarke Quay, on the banks of the Singapore River, where I would return the following night to get on a cruise that would take me to different parts of the city.
On the third day I went to Sentosa Island. Sentosa is a place visited by 5 million tourists a year, where Singaporean families usually go because it is a place of leisure and also because it is home to the busiest beaches in Singapore. Fort Siloso is also located on this island, which was the fortress of the city since it has several cannons, out of service.
I started my last day in Fort Caning, a park with a lot of history, from there I went to Little India where I visited several points of interest including a Hindu temple, a Buddhist temple and a Taoist temple.
As you can see in this Forty-year-old Traveler adventure, I tried to visit what I considered most interesting in Singapore, although as always there were places left without being able to see what is pending for a next trip.

Para mí, junto a Bangkok, es el lugar perfecto para hacer una escala de un par de días antes de continuar viaje por otro país.
