Michigan State football has always been a major thing in my family. It was a major bonding point with my grandma. She was dying with pancreatic cancer and we all knew this would be the last Michigan State vs. Michigan game she would ever see. I'll never forget looking at her and seeing tears in her eyes leading up to this play. The game was over, State had lost. But then the unthinkable happened. Being able to watch the game with her and my family and seeing MSU get one last victory over Michigan with her is something I'll never forget.
I was watching this live in a room full of u of m fans and students. The pain shared in that room was only outweighed by the joy in my heart. If someone doesn’t understand being a fan of sports, it’s this moment I show them. To experience a reflection of a shadow of being part of a moment like this everything a fan dreams of.
We were having a huge friendly House Divided party with a good mixture of Michigan and MSU fans. For the 1st half things were pretty respectful between to two fanbases, but as the game went on and the tensions of the rivalry grew, by the 3rd quarter all the UofM fans were on the main level and all the Spartan fans had migrated to the Spartan Cave in the basement. 12 seconds to go in the game we heard stomping and dancing on the floor above us, with many singing the Michigan Fight Song. 13 seconds later the pendulum of the day swung hard to make this one of the greatest victories of this rivalry ! Go Green!
I went to msu. This was the first time i traveled to ann arbor for this match up. College game day and everything. I was at a um household, and at this moment i was knees on the floor, not trying to watch, head buried in the couch, and a miracle happened. Most fun I've had in ann arbor since
If this wasn't the Dantonio era when this happened, I may have turned off the game before that punt because of how disappointed I was. But there was just something that told me to watch til the end because it seems like a Coach D MSU team is never out of it. Glad I did because I am confident that I will never see a play like this happen again live for the rest of my life.
People overlook the entire game that led up to it. It was one of the greatest of the history of the rivalry there was multiple times both teams had to score with what seemed like a rugby scrum at the goal line.
Agreed. This entire game was absolutely intense from beginning to end. The final play is that much more epic when you take in the previous drives leading up to it.
Honestly Idk what would be better. Having this game where it was being at Michigan and it just being silent or if it had been at msu how loud it would’ve been
As a Michigan fan I’ll gladly take this goofy loss with years of dominance and a 15-0 national champion season. Took all of the sting out of this game here.
I love when UM fans say that. While Go Green can mean becoming environmentally sound, but go blue refers to show business when acceptable humor isn't working so the performer starts doing pornographic material.

I've always wondered what happened to that football. I hope Jalen got it. What a trophy.
