For a number of years now I’ve been telling folks that nurses are high on my list of heroes. They were a big part of helping me survive pancreatic cancer. If during my time in critical care after what’s called a Whipple procedure, a nurse had withheld painkillers from me it would’ve been unbearable. I can’t even imagine what a horrible person she has to do such a thing. I have no sympathy for that nurse and I wish her the worst consequences for what she did.

I hope that she gets a truly fair trial and that an attempt to understand her as a suffering drug addict is made, despite the horror of this situation. All people have human rights in all circumstances, please. I can see decency in her.
