It is pretty much standard to have early access on mmorpg that are free to play and that was going to happen if you like it or not. Usually after the early access people gets in, you are forced to play with the early access players. Ncsoft is pretty much giving players the opportunity to not play with EA players if you want.
So I general agree with your take on the Early Access option and how it will play out. Having just Founders Packs as you suggest is definitely simpler, though I don't know if it will yield them the same dollar amount in sale. It did get me thinking though about A) Why do people like Early Access B) What does Early Access to the game entail in the case of T&L, and C) Does Early Access need to be an all or nothing affair. It occurs to me that they could do away with the different servers (and perhaps lose some transfer revenue) by putting limits on what Early Access actually gives you. So I suspect a good number of those who would buy Early Access will not have played the Korean Version nor the beta, and there would be some value for them in just acquiring map knowledge, learning dungeon and boss mechanics etc. You could have an Early Access option that gave no real practical progression benefit - say a level cap of 20, skill caps, gear caps and so on - but still have value enough for some people. You get the idea - scale down full on Early Access until you hit the point where the complaints hit a desired minimum but there is still interest/revenue. Overall what they outlined sounds good, but I don't think it's the optimal form of what they can do.
It's more just the case of splitting the playerbase a bit which is a bit sadge, I don't think people are too opposed to Early Access, and of course it was likely expected by many
It's a huge W, in all aspects. An exclusive server just for Early Access apart from usual servers is a intelligent way to profit without being unfair to players. Seems okay to me. Plus, the 5-day head start for Early Access servers loses significance over time. Within 1-2 months, gear levels will equalize as active players progress faster. Doesn't really matter in the long run, just pick the the server that makes sense to your play style: streamers + whales + harcores vs. normal + casual players.
Don't forget, early access does help out with people that work. I'm not taking off work Tuesday as I and many others work monday thru friday. It would be more ideal for me to take off Friday the 13th and play over the weekend when I can.
i wont be buying an early access pack, and have no problem with others getting a head start. even if i got in at the head start, i dont have the free time to keep up with a neckbeards and will fall behind anyway lol

And it is right. No one in their right mind would go to a server where thousands of nerds, upgraded in 5 days, are already running around.

Lost Ark had the same, was pretty annoying but turned out to be no problem after launch. F2P games gotta make money somehow

@@Scytheology splitting the playerbase...for a while. They will merge later. Early access only matters at the start.
@@TheAbundance1337 Yeah of course, but I don't feel I'm wrong in saying that the launch is one of the biggest/most fun parts of the game

Think they could have just done founders packs without the Early Access?
Will the items from early access pack make a return later on? Only thing i care about

PG on Top
On god
I wanna like this game so bad. It’s just the combat isn’t EVEN CLOSE to BLACK DESERT ONLINE 😢😢😢😢
😭😭 yeah combat could be better, but it is fun and the mass PvP is amazing to experience
the only thing im worried about this game is the bots thats gonna be on global lol. after a week i tell ya they be plaguing the servers.
KR was full of them but they did a good job sorting it out
Splitting the community kinda shit
Agree
Early start will have 0 impact for the non early players, there are different servers.
Yes
Yeah but soon after ea players will be able to come to f2p servers
i wanted early access i got it, i no longer want it
