Great video really enjoyed that! Looking forward to more
Thanks so much, means a lot to me!
Moria had a bad reputation from the moment the Dwarves were forced to flee. And only a creature of "immeasurable" power and malice could have done that. Throwing the One Ring into Moria's depths would have been effectively just giving it to the Balrog. BAD, BAD, idea. The only thing that could possibly be worse than giving it to Sauron himself would be giving it to the Balrog. Well, or Saruman. Kind of same difference, except the Balrog had been corrupted for millennia.
Would've been a major plot twist
@@The.Lore.Seeker True, but a really bad one. Yes, the story could have been about how they wrestle it from the Balrog and take it to Moria; but would they even know? It could hide the ring until all of them (except Gandalf and Legolas were dead) It's a much worse idea than giving it to Tom Bombadil. Gandalf explains that this is a bad idea because Tom would forget he's supposed to "keep it hidden, keep it safe." and eventually just lose it somewhere. Somewhere were it could eventually work it's way out into the world to commit more mischief and evil. And as we know, if they had to wrestle it from the Balrog everyone but Gandalf would have died, and he died too with just the normal Balrog, Balrog + ring = unsurvivable. Even for Gandalf. And it could just hide the ring and let no-body know he had it until Gandalf and Legolas were the only ones left. Sauron would have fallen again, and when the Balrog tried to gain the ring's power he'd become the new host for Sauron. A much nastier Sauron in the body of one of the most fearsomely powerful Maiar. A being with all of Sauron's cunning, and all of a Balrogs physical might. The ocean depths would have made more sense: Orome could have found it and hid it until it didn't matter anymore. Assuming Orome would even care. Plus it basically derails the whole rest of the story.
thank you for the video and the great visuals 😊
Glad you liked it!
Unless, under moria just goes straight to the core of the planet, it's going to eventually touch ground at some point, no matter how deep. In that case, they'd just send down the orcs and goblins until they find it. Sauron is eternal so as long as the ring exists, he can wait literally forever.
True but did two silmarils were not lost that way ?
I get the argument, but what if the ring was suspended in the center of a great mass of molten steel and dropped into the deep sea far, far from land? How could it ever be reunited with Sauron given all the time in the world? How can you be certain that risk would be worst than the risk of Sauron getting the ring by having it delivered to him by the Hobbits?
The thing is, Sauron didn't need the ring to win, so it HAD to be destroyed.
Yea, throwing it in the depths of the sea was much much safer than giving it to the hobbits and hoping nothing will go wrong. But we wouldn't have LOTR if that was the case:D I mean , it takes millions of years for seas to become land . There would be none of these races alive to see Sauron claim the ring from the bottom of the sea after extensive excavations lol. Even if he did get the ring , who would he use it against? Unknown races ? People with tanks and laser beams? Zerg like aliens? it wouldn't matter...
@@volfi123 And honestly, the ring belonged to Sauron, so if you actually want to be lawful good, you need to start from there.
:When you dont understand why the ring needed to be destroyed
Hint, Sauron is immortal with or without the ring. only destroying it could kill him.
@@JustDanish199 Its about the risk of him getting the ring and beating everyone to a pulp vs not ever getting the ring and fighting a weakened form which can be beaten
It can only be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom from which it was created...
No shit
Thanks for telling us something everyone here knows and is fully unrelated to the topic of the video.
R u dumb?
@@JustDanish199 - you didn't actually watch the video did you?? It starts off with the question "Why can't it be thrown into the abyss?" My comment is exactly what was told at the meeting at Rivendale with Lord Elron and the council when Gimli tried to destroy the ring with his ax. The explanation is relevant to the discussion because tossing it into the abyss only looses it again for another Generation or 2, the mission of the FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING WAS TO DESTROY THE RING ONCE AND FOR ALL IN THE FIRES OF MOUNT DOOM WHERE IT WAS CREATED. Trapping Sauron in his own dimension forever and bringing permanent peace to Middle Earth...
