I love how when you beat the boss the boss battle music continues but ends with a special orchestra piece to celebrate the win before going to the earnings menu. Such a classic game and awesome theme
I always loved how each battle theme had its own unique conclusion to the song and would vamp in the background as your exp counted away. Was a really cool design touch.
I know people want a reboot or a sequel.... but I think it needs a prequel instead....Legend of Dragoon talks about the past so much that it only seems right.
Why not make a remake to see if enough people are interested because I think that’s what most people want, THEN when it sells incredibly well they would make a prequel.
Not only that but the final battle and final cutscene makes it pretty clear that all is finally finished. Let's not forgef that everything was happening again because of dart's father being controlled by melbu since that last war. Without him clinging to his old wingly ways and trying to control the world again.... Dragoons are not needed anymore. It's pretty much just good old regular war between humans.

Fun fact, my ps1 died just a soon as I finished the game - i never finished LoD before then - so for over 14 years I had this game unfinished, only to do it and leaving my ps1 in the ground. so my ps1 was essentially holding up until I finished this game for good, the very last ps1 game I played on that console. What a way to go with a bang!

This game always made me think of sentai warriors. They even wear the same color as their respected dragoon spirit as their normal clothes like all of the sentai warriors that I've seen.
I cannot wait for Cry to play this soon. Hopefully it'll spark enough interest in people so that Sony will finally realize the hype behind it. Then again, I feel it might be tarnished by the hype as well and there won't be such intellectual conversations. What I'm saying is, a big youtuber is gonna play this on twitch and probably send a good amount of people here who are relatively new to the series, so please treat them with respect and acknowledge their presence appropriately. Not saying it will be bad, but be tolerant of possible negative qualities being added to the discussion, and be glad that this game is getting the attention it deserves. If they ever remake this and team up with Square-Enix to do it, I could see them adding Cloud and Sephiroth as superbosses. FF7 and Legend of Dragoon were competitors, and were often compared to one another. Cloud would play as a smart FF7 player, using buffs (like haste to boost speed) and healing where necessary and using his limit breaks to deal massive damage to the party. You're gonna need a lot of planning since he has 9999 hp on top of recovery. His Ribbon leaves him immune to status ailments. The coup de grace scene has him parrying the attack. Beating him opens the way to Sephiroth. Losing to him doesn't give a game over; he's treating it more as a sparring match, and if he wins, he does his signature victory pose of spinning his sword over his head. Spoils: 1000 gold 99,999 exp New accessory that cannot be obtained any other way; 100% drop rate. Sephiroth is more like a smart player playing as a boss, complete with those overpowered moves he's got. He'll have more hp than cloud (about maybe 20,000 per phase), but he won't heal himself. I agree with who ever commented here about the makers remaking this into HD. This game was just...great. I recently bought off PSN and spent days upon days playing it, the characters, the bosses, and the soundtrack were phenomenal. This game is just one out of the countless relics of great games.
Back in the day, I had one of those. Headphones these days, are alot better than they used to be, and they're mainly all in stereo, so... you hear all the stereo goodness you didn't hear before.

Listening to this in March of 2023, still wishing this gets a remake/remaster...anything for new consoles
I don't remember the music sounding this good in the game. Then again, it could just be my headphones. Hmm...
The music was this good, you just didn't have an Analog 200W Stereo Sound System like I did.

Back in the day, I had one of those.
Headphones these days, are alot better than they used to be, and they're mainly all in stereo, so... you hear all the stereo goodness you didn't hear before.
Maybe it's because this soundtrack is from the CD and not from the actual game.

That’s what comes to mind when I hear this song.
To me Lavitz's death was the most traumatic experience in a video game ever.
Specially for me, because he was my favorite character in this game.
