Goddammit SONY! We need a remake of this GEM! You don't know that you are sitting on a gold mine! If this game could get a remake i'm sure it will get the recognition that it didn't get back in day. I need to see this happening one day. My favourite game of all time. Dragon age Origins, Mass Effect Trilogy, Dark Souls, Elder Scrolls, Devil May Cry, Shadow of the Colossus, Gothic, they all are great series/games i will love forever. But this game, The Legend of Dragoon, stands on another level. It's unreachable. And this isn't just the talk of a fan. This is real facts. This game had everything. Deep combat system, good character progression, awesome story that was never predictable, perfect locations, perfect enemies, perfect immersion in cities and non, the fucking SOUNDTRACK, the boss battles, the graphics, awesome cutscenes, amazing characters and perfect/interestings/charismatic companions. It had the whole package. The only bad thing i could think of was the bad dubbing. But that is something that won't happen in a remake. Please SONY, do it! The Legend of Dragoon is truly the best game ever.
I only ever played the demo of this. But I was obsessed with the demo, played it literally over 100 times. Then I forgot about it and moved on, I never played it. But nowadays it's so easy to emulate the ps1 with any device, phone/tablet/laptop whatever do I'm gonna finally sit down and play this masterpiece

I feel that if Legend Of Legaia got a PS2 spin-off then Legend Of Dragoon definitely deserved one. But can you imagine this game reinvented with PS4 graphics? The transformations and detail would be must-sees.
Yeah. I made the mistake of using Kongol because I’d just gotten him and wanted to level his Dragoon Spirit. I think I used all of my revives in that battle because Lenus’ magic kept tearing chunks out of his health.
I lost so many times... I trained and trained and thought fuck it and used items and attacks and I won, first experience with a transvestite... Oh and as for the game...
@@jackdaone6469 when I first fought her as a child I used kongol as well and didn’t use magic smartly as I never paid attention to magic stat block. Fought her again some twenty years later and breezed past her as I used correct elemental advantage with highest magic stat casters. I think she was the first boss that provided me a true challenge. That and the dragoon staff maze boss as he could power level you in reverse as well as dragoon mit
LoD will probably be the best game in the ps1 era. Too bad the game was TOO UNDERRATED and was buried by other games like FF. If this game had the recognition it deserved the game will probably be alive up to now. Nevertheless LoD will still my fav game of all time.
I'm actually playing it for the first time right now and I agree. I was disappointed when I saw old reviews from when it was new basically saying it was a mediocre game.
Mediocre? Obviously they dont know what they are talking about. LOD elevated RPG gameplay during the PS1 era and this game is far from mediocre. If it recieved the attention it deserved FF would probably had a competition to date.

I always play Dart, Albert and Rose. As Albert I use Rose storm to reduce 50 percent damage. As Dart I use final burst, and Rose is used for healing support without turning in to a dragoon. This tactic is helpful. But I agree, this battle is maybe on of the hardest in the game. Sorry if my English is bad.
No kidding, one time I was using Albert and Kongol with Dart, put all three in Dragoon form at once. Next thing I know she got four attacks in a row every time her turn came up. She wasn't nearly that aggressive before I went full party Dragoon (Seriously I got her down to half health before I went full dragoon)
Phoenix Champion I'm just saying as I think you already know by now but if she got that much extra attack it's because Albert and Kongol are two of the slowest characters on the team. Their speed at regular caps at 30/Kongol and 40/Albert to balance out their heavy damage output on bosses. Especially Albert at that point should already have max addition Blossom Storm about 600dmg at this current time per succession or more and lvl 5 dragoon but won't need it if you have his last addition max. Maker made mistake to give Lavitz all his addition except secret one before giving us Albert. Dart's is standard ok, being 50. Her speed is about 70-80 is why she can do that much attack on you. If you used Meru speed x2 and Dancers shoe (female only) +20spd with her base speed being already 70 she'd be the one to get 2 almost 3 attacks on this lady. Bandits shoe for the guys help you even out her speeds a bit with Dart as it raises their spd by +20
Phoenix Champion This game kind of doesn't want you to use the dragoon forms it seems like just count how many bosses get the advantage over you when you do it when you have max bars
Nerd's Digest most ps1 games are repetitive but this is one standout because it only focues on attacks n not balancing it with lots of magic like ff. but still that feeling of satisfaction of doing the final additions of everyone is just great 😍
At least they need to make it so that the player can choose which addition they want to launch during the battle and not only allowing the player to set one before the battle. Too bad.

I think it was 2001 or 2002? Me and my best buddy John would sit in his room and play this all night. Literally till 6 am in the morning and then sleep till late afternoon and start all over again. It was some of the best memories and I would go back in a heartbeat. Games used to be different.

Just a tip for everyone wondering why she's so fast, Meru and Rose are fast, but farming for 3 sets of Bandit Rings can be really helpful of course the girls can't use them but farming at Gigantos for levels is a great way to prepare yourself, I had Albert and Darts Dragoon lvl at 5 and Haschels at 4, cleaned her up in 4 turns maybe? Final Burst does like 700+ Dmg and Gaspless and Thunder God both do quite a bit of a chunk.
Let's see...fight an evil authority whom you defeat early on, then spend most of the rest of the game chasing a silver haired swordsman whom you always JUST miss at every stop. Oh yes, and said silver haired swordsman unceremoniously kills one of your allies. It goes on and on.
This was one of the games back in the day - I remember going to my friends house EVERY DAY and we would play this like no tomorrow. All the really good RPG's were on the psx XD. BOF3 - FF7 - Legend of Legaia - and this.
I remember her as well, she was an exceedingly tough boss at the time of the game, & did kill me my first time, but I remember in RPG's, there is always one like her, & you need to train a lot for ones like her. Remembering this, I beat her the 3rd time I faced her, but barely, with all of my potions/revival parts all used up. Even she is tough & sometimes stressful one, remember how much stronger you get from ones like her, it can show how dedicated one is towards games like these.
i use to have this part with a passion . . for the the simple fact that I wouldn't buy any items nor weapons so I could buy the 100,000 whatchamacallit armor for kongol that'll turn magical damage into nothing. . . but if I played her I always for some reason end up with haschel and kongol , sometimes rose . . but remind you they all underrated lol . . . with either one physical ring and therapy ring and a lil sumthin for dart . . Lenus, the hardest boss of the game to me. She always ended killing Dart with water magic and she was damn fast. Black Rain was tough too. One of the few enemies I really thought that could defeat my team...
@Cypher0120 I noticed that too. It may not be the same voice because I assume during the second encounter with her she transforms into a dragoon but that is still awkward since when Dart and company transform their voices remain the same.... so I'm not entirely sure why her voice sounds different.
still got this game sitting on my shelf in good condition. AND I AM NOT GETTING RID OF THIS GAME! not going to let this RPG go. The trick with this boss, is shes super fast! Along with very high magic ability damage, u had Meru with u, so u were able to balance the fight
Playstation gave me so much beautiful memories I remember back in the way(when I had a PlayStation lol) I had resident evil l,legend of the dragoon and other games which I wanted but couldn't afford but thanks to the psn I was able to purchase spyro,spyro2,spyro 3, blood omen,soul reaver, resident evil 1,2,3 legend of the dragoon, and finaly finish(beat) this classic games of my childhood so thank you PlayStation for the great memories and thank you for the playstation network for adding this great classic games on the psn for us to purchase and play and relive this classics(right now am playing medievil then parasite eve 1 and 2 cant wait to finish them)
Im glad you are enjoying those classic gems :) and btw, i recommend you play suikoden 2 (its a jrpg) .... it is my second favorite game of all time (number one is shadow of the colossus); and you dont need to play the first one (suikoden 1) at all, i recommend you do it if you have the time and money, but its not necesary :D
I love every time a boss fight is preceded by Rose pointing her sword at the enemy and threatening them. This is the only time I can remember but I know its sort of her thing...
Well, earlier in that very part of the game while the group was transported in the painting to save Emille, Rose said that she had trouble transforming into Dragoon form unless it was a battle/and or (I'm assuming) life or death situation. Kind of stupid, but hey. Adds a twist.
@MegaBarger if you're talking about dragoon level, you get it faster by earning SP. the more SP you get the faster you level up your dragoon. i remember having the white dragon attack with shana before i finished disc 1. if you fight enemies near those fireflys or those places that heal you, you can use those to heal you infinitely w/o having to heal yourself in battle and just keep roaming for enemies.
I considered this fight one of the hardest, if u dared to turn into a dragoon, she'd own u, i was well prepared, but she got 5 turns giving me the beatdown, its a good game
Man I remember this fight being such a struggle. I went in with Kongol the first time and I underestimated just how strong and fast she was and I got decimated. Needless to say, I learned my lesson and came back prepared.
LOD is the 1st rpg i EVER played and to tell you the truth its the game that got me into rpg, i havent played anything else but rpgs from the day i got my hands on to it, and i'm still trying to find something as well done as this, such as FFVII and FFX ..
@MegaBarger Oh I'm not the user of this video. Another thing you can do is give the stardust to Martel and the first things you'll get which this guy should have is one that gives you 50% more of max hp accessory and another accessory that gives 50% more max mp (which he has equiped with rose). Other than that all I know about leveling up is places where they have healing spots and random encounters in the same area.

Meru is awesome!! She may not have the physical strength but she gets like 3x more the amount of turns kongol does if you level her up right. In the end i thought she was the best.

Hey this game for PS1 pretty much had incredible graphics...and since I don't have my PS1 anymore I'm playing this on an emulator and it looks incredible at 1280X1024...
For Lenus I used Meru and Dart (third member was Shana for heals), i stocked up on mp restoring stuff had dart a d.lvl. 5 as well as shana at level 5, turned dart into dragoon along with shana, had dart spam final burst every turn and had shana heal when needed while using meru to toss them mp stuff. Dart downed her extremely fast and shana and meru took almost no damage due to magic defense.
i miss the time when Lenus (1st encounter) is the hardest boss fight in disc 2. but i learned (years later) that transforming into your dragoon form is bad news.
@TheElijahGarcia That happened to me too! I fought the water dragon twice. Then, I realized that I beat it twice by using the SPECIAL icon and transforming all into dragoons, which was probably why it made it freeze afterwards. The third time I fought, I used nothing but pure addition, and it didn't freeze. I hope that helps.

beating this boss without using dragoons makes it a piece of cake. Turning into Dragoons activates her doing 4-5 turns in a row

i use to have this part with a passion . . for the the simple fact that I wouldn't buy any items nor weapons so I could buy the 100,000 whatchamacallit armor for kongol that'll turn magical damage into nothing. . . but if I played her I always for some reason end up with haschel and kongol , sometimes rose . . but remind you they all underrated lol . . . with either one physical ring and therapy ring and a lil sumthin for dart . . I recently started over for the new years and I'm at Bale right now . . I just stopped , like this part takes forever lol . . much love LoD pssst I heard rumors of part 2 lol

Lenus, the hardest boss of the game to me. She always ended killing Dart with water magic and she was damn fast. Black Rain was tough too. One of the few enemies I really thought that could defeat my team...
The voice acting and cutscenes in this game blew my fucking mind when I was a kid.

@Cypher0120 I noticed that too. It may not be the same voice because I assume during the second encounter with her she transforms into a dragoon but that is still awkward since when Dart and company transform their voices remain the same.... so I'm not entirely sure why her voice sounds different.

Playstation gave me so much beautiful memories I remember back in the way(when I had a PlayStation lol) I had resident evil l,legend of the dragoon and other games which I wanted but couldn't afford but thanks to the psn I was able to purchase spyro,spyro2,spyro 3, blood omen,soul reaver, resident evil 1,2,3 legend of the dragoon, and finaly finish(beat) this classic games of my childhood so thank you PlayStation for the great memories and thank you for the playstation network for adding this great classic games on the psn for us to purchase and play and relive this classics(right now am playing medievil then parasite eve 1 and 2 cant wait to finish them)

and btw, i recommend you play suikoden 2 (its a jrpg) .... it is my second favorite game of all time (number one is shadow of the colossus); and you dont need to play the first one (suikoden 1) at all, i recommend you do it if you have the time and money, but its not necesary :D

I love every time a boss fight is preceded by Rose pointing her sword at the enemy and threatening them. This is the only time I can remember but I know its sort of her thing...
This used to... to this day is still the hardest boss.

Well, earlier in that very part of the game while the group was transported in the painting to save Emille, Rose said that she had trouble transforming into Dragoon form unless it was a battle/and or (I'm assuming) life or death situation. Kind of stupid, but hey. Adds a twist.

@MegaBarger if you're talking about dragoon level, you get it faster by earning SP. the more SP you get the faster you level up your dragoon. i remember having the white dragon attack with shana before i finished disc 1. if you fight enemies near those fireflys or those places that heal you, you can use those to heal you infinitely w/o having to heal yourself in battle and just keep roaming for enemies.
I considered this fight one of the hardest, if u dared to turn into a dragoon, she'd own u, i was well prepared, but she got 5 turns giving me the beatdown, its a good game

Man I remember this fight being such a struggle. I went in with Kongol the first time and I underestimated just how strong and fast she was and I got decimated. Needless to say, I learned my lesson and came back prepared.

Ugh.. this fuckin boss. It took me forever as a kid. I remember grinding for ages until I was level 24 just to whup this trick.
LOD is the 1st rpg i EVER played and to tell you the truth its the game that got me into rpg, i havent played anything else but rpgs from the day i got my hands on to it, and i'm still trying to find something as well done as this, such as FFVII and FFX ..
The developer said they were creating a 2nd Part of LoD but the developement splitted up and the project got forgotten.
@MegaBarger Oh I'm not the user of this video. Another thing you can do is give the stardust to Martel and the first things you'll get which this guy should have is one that gives you 50% more of max hp accessory and another accessory that gives 50% more max mp (which he has equiped with rose). Other than that all I know about leveling up is places where they have healing spots and random encounters in the same area.

If you use those light magic attacks like the ray or something like that, it does a lot of damage to her
Meru is awesome!! She may not have the physical strength but she gets like 3x more the amount of turns kongol does if you level her up right. In the end i thought she was the best.
am glad I played this amazing beautiful unique game and finish it word can't describe this awesome game great story great level and great music for each level the ending was so beautiful and the connection and love between Shana and dart is so beautiful this game had it all the friendship you made along the way with levitz,kongol rose, among others such an amazing journey after I finish the game I wanted to play it again right away most people don't want to play a game again after they finished it but this game was so amazing I wanted to play it again right away which I didn't lol but I would have thank to every body who made this game and thank you dart for the awesome journey
I remember on the replay, you have this feeling you started small again at your small town to slowly discover the truth behind the truth.

Hey this game for PS1 pretty much had incredible graphics...and since I don't have my PS1 anymore I'm playing this on an emulator and it looks incredible at 1280X1024...

For Lenus I used Meru and Dart (third member was Shana for heals), i stocked up on mp restoring stuff had dart a d.lvl. 5 as well as shana at level 5, turned dart into dragoon along with shana, had dart spam final burst every turn and had shana heal when needed while using meru to toss them mp stuff. Dart downed her extremely fast and shana and meru took almost no damage due to magic defense.
Lenus was the first tough ass boss I fought in this game. She took me several tries to beat.

i miss the time when Lenus (1st encounter) is the hardest boss fight in disc 2. but i learned (years later) that transforming into your dragoon form is bad news.

My copy of disc 2 was super-glitchy, and it liked to freeze whenever I tried turning into a Dragoon. Love this game.
they need to remake this game.
@TheElijahGarcia That happened to me too! I fought the water dragon twice. Then, I realized that I beat it twice by using the SPECIAL icon and transforming all into dragoons, which was probably why it made it freeze afterwards. The third time I fought, I used nothing but pure addition, and it didn't freeze. I hope that helps.
