  • The Villain is a custom built 1968 Ford Mustang. Built by Jason Engel and his amazing staff at Classic Recreations in Yukon, Oklahoma.
    The car is powered by a 420-HP Ford Racing all-aluminum DOHC 5.0L Coyote crate motor.
    They used the Detroit Speed Aluma-frame with Corvette-based A-arms. A QUADRAlink 4-link rear suspension and fully adjustable DSE/JRi Coilover System.
    Wilwood six-piston calipers bring modern stopping power to this classic beauty while the Forgeline wheels get wrapped by 275/35s in the front and a massive 335/30 in the rear.

    My first car was a 1968 Mustang Fastback, red, 289-3 speed, completely stock, all original, in perfect condition! Like a DUMBA$$, I sold it in 1987/88 for $2,500. I'd give anything to find it/have it back again! Breaks my heart!! 😭

    I am a big fan of Mustangs I currently own two Shelby's. I must say, I'm not a big fan of the duck tail. I love the inverted scoops on the B pillar. Overall, that is one bad ass car!

    I've never been in love with a car, but man I'd marry that thing, it was perfect from end to end. I love the color as well.

    Very good looking! Love the concept! But for such an expensive car it looks like alignment is of on many of the body parts, the fitment is worse than stock. The hood fitment has a huge gap to the fenders both in with and height. As well as the trunk lid is hangs down on the right hand side, must be close to 10mm! And some how the car looks plastic, is it because of filler or to much color?
    Great fabrication but allot is some how missing.

      Concept is great but the execution is patchy. The fine paintwork and contrasting textures and materials really draws attention to the imperfections.

    When it showed the side of the car driving it looks like the door is not closed.... (Big gap...), not fitting well!
    And at the end of the video it shows the hood bouncing with the bumps, like it is not closed right or fitting right either. It looked like it was going to fly striaght up any second... did you guys not edit or review what you are advertising?
    But other than that "Very Cool" // I would love to have that stuffed into my 67 Stang!

    I'd buy on in a heartbeat, but those fitment issues are killing me. Listening to your metal guys talk about fitment and then watch the hood bounce, the doors not fit, the trunk. Might have blended better if the car was black, or midnight blue. IT's a true shame, fix those fitment issues, and you're golden. What do these cars run price wise?

      +SNOWSKIJUNKY That's hilarious. $155K for that? Nah. They need to get their metal working skills up and put out a solid product requiring no rework for that kind of money.

    • @Kintepro
      @Kintepro 9 років тому

      +DevilDolphin Agreed. The first video of it I saw the hood bouncing up and down...yikes. I love the idea of recreating the classic look, it's one of my favorite designs...but for fucks sake 155k better get me something damn near perfect.

  • @PepeRoldan1961
    @PepeRoldan1961 9 років тому +7

    Perpetuating the myth of the three-week build, then saying all the builds are fifteen months. You can't have it both ways. The only relative measure is man-hours, the rest is marketing hype. Let the machine speak for itself.

    • @RoadsAndRides
      @RoadsAndRides  9 років тому +10

      The Villain was built for Sema in 3 weeks, and it was a tough prototype. The 15 month wait time in not the time it takes to build the car but the waiting list because of how many orders they have. They had at least 9 cars being built when I was there... Tons of work going into each one.

    • @comethiburs2326
      @comethiburs2326 9 років тому +1

      +Roads & Rides rough prototype based on a previously cleaned car, unmodified engine. only special parts are very simple, and use of already prepped molds.
      to put it short, three weeks have been shaved off.
      and damn, another modified 'stang that ends up loosing the "pony car" vibe. with the first barracuda and the E-bodies, those cars really feel wrong once slammed and customised.

      ***** Since I'm only 22 and being born and raised in this day and era, I have no hands on experience either with body/metal work nor engine skills (I suck at life, put in your words) although I do know my cars pretty well, since I was raised around a father who has owned over 300 cars (classics and modern ones) throughout his life. And lets not forget the fact that I'm from Europe, meaning US muscle car shells are kinda hard to find, not even mentioning the trouble of finding or ordering parts - making it impossible for a project of this type.
      I'd also like to ask if do have the knowledge - when registering a car of this type, is it perceived as a classic or a new car? Which laws apply to it?

    Do you sell those fiberglass modifications to the public? I'm sick and tired of all the 'Eleanor' aftermarket parts. 'Eleanor' killed 1967-1968 Fastback market. I see people using S-codes and butchering them up into 'Eleanors'.

    • @Sheehy223
      @Sheehy223 8 років тому

      Yep, I agree. The Bodykit definitely looks cool, but it's way overdone, and a lot of super clean '67's-'68's have been ruined by shitty fabricators trying to change something that never needed to be changed in the first place.

    • @wyliecoyote1696
      @wyliecoyote1696 8 років тому

      My issue isn't with making bodykit cars like the Eleanor or SEMA builds, but rather that they butcher up normal cars for their "experiments" - I'd have no problem with them using a Dynacorn or Thoroughbred GT body. That way they leave the original cars for the purists.
