The Malibu, and the GMC are the ones to get. I had to chuckle when you commented on children, "I'm over it, I'm over it." Funny how with age the novelty of kids has worn off, except for grandkids. Those you love to see, and give back to the parents. Hahaha. Keep the walk arounds coming, I really enjoy them. Oh, here in Arkansas as a kid we'd have salvaged the Olds, kick the windshield out, put on some sunglasses, wire the door shut, and drive it.
I used to own a Cutlass just like that one back in the day. Mine was a deep midnight blue color and man she would get it down the highway like a champ! It was probably the most fun and reliable car that I've ever owned.
"Happier than a pig in shhhhhhe runs!" You just made my day Randy! Hahahahaha This is one of the few things to look forward to make a deployment go by quicker. Take care!
It'd be great to see either all of the parts moved to a "donor" car or to see it fixed (V Tuned could do it), but unfortunately it'd likely be a huge loss, so it probably won't happen.
Randy, strongly recommend the Yukon. Bought one at auction 18 months ago and no regrets. The 6.2 L engine is bulletproof even with so much mileage on it. My mechanic tells me to keep up the maintenance at it will keep you happy. He has the same engine in his 80’s Corvette with a supercharger and is currently in low 10’s. A bit more work and he’ll get below that. At $700 it’s a steal. Clean it up and double your money! Good luck and I’ll be watching to see what happens if you do get it.
Randy, it is real simple. Without people on the road they weren't wrecking. Our Body shop at work has a days worth of repairs for a week. In the west side of Denver winter/spring has snow and ice late spring slows down until the summer hail gets us busy again.
Another great video. GM got a lot of use out of that body style. They used it on Monte Carlos, Buick Regals, Pontiac Grand Prixs, and Oldsmobile up until 1988 I believe and changed in 89. If my memory severs. Those cars were literally everywhere and now it’s rare to see them. They even used that body style for the 442, Hurst/Olds, Buick Grand National, and GNX.
my aunt had a 1988 cutlass supreme classic with the euro front header panel sun roof floor shifter chrome rallies with letter tires, she passed away 5 years ago and her family/my cousins just letting the car sit and rotting away
I had a 1981 Monte Carlo that came with a 267 cubic inch v8. 1981 was the first year for cars to be equipped with a computer. The 305 was available also.
Randy I also grew up with the cutlass also 1982 I was 5 years old in 82 but remember riding in a car like that one with the T tops out a classic car for real
What I remember about G-bodies is it seemed like the rear suspension was always loose. Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass or Grand Pricks. They always felt wiggly out back.
Love those old Cutlass Supremes. Especially those 80’s models. Those along with the 3rd gen F bodies were my cars through high school and right after. So wish I could have one again!
Hey man just to let you know, im very thankful you still do these walk-arounds! I love getting to watch these all the time and I look forward too them!
I like all the cars. The Malibu looks like a quick flip. Bid on all of them. The Olds has the most to repair. This looks like a good selection. You may get more than one project.
The 1982 Cutlass has a 260ci Oldsmobile Rocket V8. My first car was a $1000 1975 Cutlass Salon with the same engine, had the power of a V6 with the economy of a V8... That engine was a boat anchor, the 307 350 & 403 used the same engine block with different sized bores. The 260 with the smallest bore would be the heaviest block of the bunch.
That was a nice Cutlass in the day. I learned to drive in one just like it, and my first car was the 4 door version. It had a 103hp 260 cubic inch V8. Timing chain broke at 105k miles, transmission went out even before that.
Those 80s Cutlass were the shit in day. Everyone loved them. Everyone. Lowriders, Southside cruiser, white suburban guys. They were great cars at the time. They were also the most stolen car until mid 90s. The parts fit the Chevy, Pontiac, And Buick versions.
Randy, the old school car have a clean interior, a good angine, it can be a very good content, just find another one with good baby. You and we gonna enjoy doing it, those are the real American car......;)
I need me one of those, damn thing looks as though it would jump start the Space Shuttle, and have enough juice left over to fire up a battleship or two :)
08:40 if I'm looking at the windshield right, that would appear to be a TX inspection. Being hail is mostly cosmetic damage TX will total loss due to value but not salvage the title in most cases.
Randy, the Yukon and the town and country would be my top picks for great flip cars. The Oldsmobile was great as will. To bad it is not able to be saved. I love old cars as well.
Randy!!! That 82 Cutlass is not that bad of a fix!!! That's a "light rollover" so, a junkyard roof (with t-tops) including where the windshield pillar is welded to the firewall, fender, door and full, complete quarter panel, all drivers side. I wish I could get it. A non-442 cutlass with t-tops is ULTRA RARE. if done correctly, will bring $$ in another couple of years as more of them get "recycled".👍😎
These Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was either had one of four engines the Buick 231 3.8L V-6 5.0L 307 V-8 5.7L 350 gas and the worst of all was the 5.7L 350 Diesel was an option as well.
The Escalade was fine. Rear doors where just locked and the flashing green light is likely a fuse. It just needs a deep clean after that, then she's good again. Weird Beard can fix the door dents.
Randy me and my friend just brought this car up last night my boys mom had a 305/ 5.0 liter 4bbl that car was great until it was totalled in 1995 by a kid in Mustang t boned it too bad it can't be fixed 1981/1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Buick Regal, Pontiac Grand Prix, Monte Carlo great find G body garage special
Cutlass of that vintage had a 260 V8, I believe. My mother had a '78 with that engine and it was an ok runner but under powered. Randy, there's no way that car is a 1000 mile survivor - it's 101,000. Too bad it came to such an inglorious end.
The cutlass had a 4.3 liter, 260 v8. Some had a 60 thousands plug gap those were runners. Most had a .120 plug gap they were crap. I had a 1978 that was a downright screamer, I sold it with 180000 miles and the guy who bought it rear ended someone and drove it with a hole in the radiator till it blew up
The oil tube on the front of the Cutlass basically says its an Oldsmobile engine. For this year Id think that almost certainly means it will be a 307. Thanks for the content Randy!
Thanks Randy for showning That oldsmobile cutlass T top Remind me of all the Gangsters and dope dealers they used to drive them when I was growing up out here Los Angeles California AKA South central
Excellent work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care Edited and could you imagine if Randy brought a motor home and fixed it up then sold it it would make for some great content and a change to the channel

One possible reason for the lower number of vehicles in the Copart lot is that there have been far fewer vehicles on the road, therefore fewer accidents. Because of the "Situation", less people are driving, and crashing, thus leading to less insurance claims, leading to less cars being taken to Copart. As the lockdown eases you should see the number of cars get back to normal.
On that 80's Cutlass, your probably thinking of the Chevy 267 ci V8 or the 4.4L. My Dad had one in his '82 El Camino. They were in the early 80s G-Bodies.
The Cutlass is a dirt track candidate! I see that in its future! The Malibu is a good flip car candidate. Those things sell. Not an exciting car but great commuter car!

Buy the Yukon.. a good clean and it will be good to go
