- A Knob-Turning Exploration of the New BL-44 Reverse Pedal from @Old Blood Noise Endeavors
This is a pedal I worked on with the team at OBNE. It's a textural reverse inspired by the reverse elements of our Rever and Minim pedals. It's very fun.
Guitar is running through the Mixwave Benson Amps Chimera plugin. Other than that, not much you need to know. Enjoy!
The BL-44 is available now at oldbloodnoise.com
Old blood are like the mob because they’re knocking off all the other pedals on my board.
OBN, yeah really?
I find them strong in time base & modulation( the Flatlight is a strong Flanger), and the Haunt is a useful Fuzz, but NSM with the more basic.
I mean,- basic isn't their thing.
🤣🤣🤣
They offer you pedals you can’t refuse!
@@markferguson3745 they've always been pretty open that they're geared towards noise and ambient music. A baritone through the Keeley Caverns ran into the BL-44 can make some absolutely insane sounds.
I love the BL44❤
Thanks Dan for "explaining it some". I really love the simplicity of this pedal. Especially appreciate the footswitch being both momentary/latching.
Thank you! I tried to specifically not do an explainer, but I couldn’t help but explain some, as is my nature
@@danpechacek3855 It's the kind of effect you can explain all day, but may not make much sense until you actually play it.
Cheers Dan, appreciate these dedicated walk throughs
Great sounds! Definitely will be picking one up!
Thanks for the nice and clear explanation on how it works and the cool jam. I really want one and now I feel like I know how it works. Thanks and cheers!
Amazing work Dan
This sounds very nice. 🤩👍👍
You made me order one! 😁
That tone of your playing is great! 👏👏
Ah thank you! Hope you enjoy when it arrives!
Absolutely love this demo, this is probably only the second pedal I've ever bought on launch day but I'm so excited to mix and match it with other effects!
So rad. 🖤
Dig.
Much better than other builder's attempts at a similar program.Solid composition and improvisational tool, the two main qualities I look for having arrived a working tonal palette.
Go nicely next to a EHX Freeze.
I actually have the ehx freeze and was planning on doing this lol
Very cool indeed. I love the idea of a clock control on any pedal/instrument.
SICK... God, I LOVE IT!!! 🐺
I love it!
Thanks for explaining it all
I bet you can get some super crazy sounds putting this before/after a Chase Bliss mood in slip mode
I haven’t paired the two yet, will have to do that soon!
@@danpechacek3855 enter the mood guitar
@@danpechacek3855 Post a video if you can! I am looking forward to trying this too
Nice demo Dan. Currently using mine with my board and having loads of fun - it'll go on there when I have a 'tidy up'...👍
I could listen to you explain anything.
Just moved to Oklahoma. Maybe I can come sweep floors and get coffee for OBNE...
This was really lovely Dan, I’m really looking forward to playing with this pedal.
Getting it my next paycheck. I play in a metal band but I make ambient stuff on the side, I feel like this could undoubtedly work with both
Just wondering when there will be a version with an expression knob because damn. I have the Chorus and if I could fuck with the slider mid song I’d be unstoppable.(sarcasm)
I love the sounds but the knob and slider placement is really itching on my ocd. 😅🤔🤣
🤘👍🏿 Not many demos show it in use stacked with any other pedals. Thoughts Dan?
Hi, how mouch and buy where?
Your voice super minds me of the guy from the skateboard channel rad rat video. Super dope pedal!
I really wonder what can happen with the EQD Data Corrupter after this !
Great idea...Did you ever find out?
@@asynchronicity Unfortunately no, I never got my hands on a BL-44... But I've got an OBNE Float Dual Filter and it's quite cool (and time consuming !)
@@Sushi_Overdose The Float is great…I am going to see what it sounds like to process it with the BL44 and vice versa.✌️
This sounds a lot like the Tensor from RP. This is way more affordable though.
I just ordered a Minim. Do I need to get this too? Because I want to get this too
If you want more control over the reverse than just a mix knob and normal/double speed switch, I think it might be worth it. I have a Minim and sometimes use it with just the reverse, no delay or reverb. I think BL-44 is one of those pedals that's fun to hear other people get creative with, but I wouldn't really know how to use it.
@@boynamedlen so, I got the BL-44 and I love it. Really fun with a variety of instruments. Since I have too many reverb pedals as it is, I'm selling the Minim to fund other gear
@@michaelhiggins777 Oh nice, I'm hanging on to mine for the time being, even if I'm not much of a weird sounds/ambient kind of player anymore. Never too many reverbs!
Well, this is definitely on the list. Wow, because I love slip mode on the mood. Actually, the entire left side is so good well actually the entire pedal
also dark star is one of the coolest reverbs ever. It’s so blurry and slow.
I'm trying to save my money and this video isn't helping. haha This was fantastic.
