He doesn't have the authority to prevent recording. He is a public servant in the performance of his duties.
Allow you to record... he can't stop you legally from recording!
Also no plastic Y on radiator return leaking.
It’s a Government fundraiser.
It is a necessary inspection to insure the tractor is in good working order and properly maintained. For the safety of the driver, others on the road, and the owner. If there was no inspection - it would be like the wild west.
When would you want to find a dangerous problem - while waiting on the ambulance or before an accident.
These people are unbelievable the trucks aren't even on the road.
Wait dude had to google what the minimum tire tread is supposed to be! Bro, you're not doing your walk arounds right! That's what I just got, because if you did you would know those numbers!!!
Private property is private property they can’t come on your property without an invitation.
This is bit program so company make apoiment so no lying to the public you get time to fix all truck them he come be honest chp is the best i deal with them over 40 years one of the best police in usa no bs
How can these people come onto private property and do inspections California is a joke
He looking for deleted trucks
What's up with the radioactive flashlight?
They can come to your property to inspect, if your company has had multiple violations and if one of your drivers become disgruntled and report your company to DOT for safety issues you refuse to fix
Lol. Why would u call the DOT to your shop? Especially Comifornia?😅. Risking a ticket or multiple tickets.
Can't give you a ticket for a truck in the shop, that's why you have them come and inspect in your yard, they point out what needs to be fixed without a ticket
Yes you are correct, if you can't make the officer feel good about whatever you are doing then you're very likely going to get a mark in the books, not a ticket or such, but the next time you roll past a scale they might say it's been awhile since your last inspection and they will throw the book at you
Is this the California yearly inspection?
Wow, i was a heavy truck inspector and took pride in keeping trucks safe and reliable.
Inspections can only be performed by experienced mechanics, it's supposed to be about safety not control.
This is not a safety inspection, it's a violation inspection.
The inspector doesn't pay attention to the actual inspection points federally mandated, lifting the front end to inspect kingpins
Checking driveline for loose joints and yokes
Actually inspecting the p brake cans and hoses
Takes about an hour per tractor
No tractor trailer inspected in California is safe, it's up to the individual operators to take care of their fleet.
All inspections should be done at the shop with the mechanic certified for a period of time not on the side of the road
Revenue collectors are here.
The DOT is not ever coming on my lot or on any part of my property.
yup--they better have a warrant or they are trespassing
Osha, is saying the drivers need a all points grab on the hand rails to get in and out of the cab ,chp got in with a light in his hand and used one hand to look in ,scott the trucker (Retired )
You don't have to help them in their inspections, let them do it.
why do you have to look up minimum tread depths when your working with DOT?
What makes you think you need to ask for permission to record?
How you get inspector to the yard ?
You can have them come or they could come randomly and do inspections
@johnson35091 how you can invite them to the yard ?need to call field office or trooper .
You can call the field office
@johnson35091 OK thank you
They usually don't ĝo to a business unless they have gotten too many tickets.
I believe the tire measurement should be takin in the center of the tread in 3 different locations.
Remember you have the right to record police or anyone else in public.
Didn't check VIN against paperwork, fire extinguisher, triangles, horn, loose or missing lug nuts, cracks between wheel studs, tractor protection valve, didn't examine air lines for trailer hookup, fifth wheel slider play, fifth wheel pivot bushing wear, fifth wheel latch operation, backup light, back of sleeper white reflective tape, rear of truck reflective tape, air tanks for loose or broken mounts, spare bulbs and fuses, chaffed/rubbing air hoses/tubing, engine/transmission/differential leaks, exhaust leaks, tire pressures, etc....get into a real inspection and will quickly find out what he missed. Some DOT don't honor those CVSA stickers.
Company's can request to have there fleet inspected so you don't get red tager st s scale.
im glad where i live in georgia cops dont care about the condition of the trucks all they care about is if your doing something stupid
If you operate out of California. You deserve everything you get!
Dot is bad everywhere, CA is just full of dumbass rules.
As long as you keep your trucks maintained and safe, there’s nothing to worry about 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@shreqboi1 keeps the junk off the road. I call dot every year to come to my shop and do the annuals. Never had a problem. Fix what needs to be fixed and get on with making a living!
@@Look_What_You_Did If the service was so important, the government might actually assist these small businesses owners rather than fine them into bankruptcy.
@@Knightremyou should look up a service the CHP provides called the Commercial Industry Education Program. If requested, DOT officers will go to a company and provide free training on whatever topic you ask for. This officer could have quite possibly been doing that here. They will teach companies what they look for when they do inspections.
