Chritine's Mom is the BEST. She never second guesses any of her daughter's decisions. I can hear my Mom saying, "But that color looks good on you", "But you paid $80 for that dress." "Keep that one in case you lose weight." LOL
Yes. And move the yellow table out of the way so the bed and bedside tables can move towards the far window/door. That way you get more room in front of the wardrobe. I used to have sliding doors on my Pax closet. Not cheap, but very practical. I took them off, but I have a very minimalist wardrobe. Plus it's white so you don't see the dust as easily :-)
@cdugral once baby comes there may be a bassinet to fit in, and all the things that you want with baby in the bedroom. Before your first you may think you will do things a certain way, but baby often has other ideas.
I agree! She can probably go online, recreate the closet with the drawers and shelves they have now. Then rearrange and add different things based on what they need. Then order those extra things. That’s what I would do to make my life easier lol
I went to ikea on a different window and re built the whole closet using the Pax planner and all the pieces they already have. Its a great system. Move the top shelves up higher then move the clothing bar up right under that top shelf and it will fit so much more! You can add one more drawer to the large middle piece. Take out the drawers on the left hand side completely and move the bar up to the top for more hanging space. You could add one drawer at the bottom there. On the far right side pieces take out all the little drawers at the bottom and the larger ones above it. Remove that weird custom piece there that is supporting the smaller drawers and just add in all the medium drawers (from the left hand side and above) all in a row. You could do 4 or 5 drawers here. Maybe more. Then move the hanging bar up to just under the top shelf. Move a couple of those wire shelves on the bottom right to the narrow center piece. I would do two there and then the rest shelving but its up to you. On the Ikea website you can find great storage containers for cheap for the very top shelf and dividers for inside the drawers. They are made to fit the piece perfectly so skip amazon.
They don’t even have to start from scratch. They just need to remove some drawers and shelves. In that white closet, they should remove that bottom rod, move the top rod down a little bit, and add a shelf at top. In the brown closet, remove those shallow drawers and perhaps buy a new drawer from Ikea. I would remove that rod in the shallow area on the right and perhaps add some more drawers if needed. I am not finished with the video yet, but in that shallow space near the middle I hope they add a rod and remove the shelf. If they really want to see what they can do, I would suggest using the Ikea PAX planner, add everything they have now, and do some playing around with minor configuration changes.
@@daCubanaqt I actually went to the Pax planner and entered in all the units they have and rebuilt the closet myself just for fun! 😂 but I don't really understand the other closet. I feel like if you have to cram extra closets into a space that small what you really need to do it get rid of some stuff! Like do you Really need a pair of socks for every day of the year? But I know I'm not suppose to say that! I just cant believe that even if you organize all your stuff you are going to use it or be able to find it when you need it. Still love watching though.
@@daCubanaqt Right! If I sleep in a room with open closets I will have nightmares and interrupted sleep! It would calm the room down so much to add doors
@TheRealSabrinaDeep agree on the more decluttering, but Christine is pregnant so she doesn't know what will fit and this is just the first round. I've been pretty into decluttering for the last years and was like - I should get rid of a few clothing items! Had a few in mind and thought it would be a small pile. Guess who took out a big bag yesterday....and I didn't even buy that much. I'm Gen Z and love fashion and did buy some things but I'd argue I'm much better than most people in that category. But this is why minimalists tell you it's a process, about 4 years in and it's still a mess. Not to mention this is an "easy" category for me. Don't ask about other things😂
It's wonderful your dad's transplant went well! We lost our son unexpectedly and donated his organs. So emotional having him pass so suddenly and also knowing parts of him live on with many people across the world.
That is the real masculinity. Self sufficient, and secure in himself. Willing to share tasks, compromise, contribute. That is what makes a great partner and parent.
suggestion remove the 4 small drawers on the right, re locate to middle area with kalax box on top. then move the two bigger drawers down to the bottom to create longer hanging space.
Who else was talking at the screen saying cut the rod and its a pax re arrange the system. 😂 loved seeing it all come together ❤️ can't wait for part 2
I know its way after the fact since this was filmed long ago but just incase the tension rod dowsnt hold up, you can get these disk thing you screw to the side of the closet that cradle a hanging rod. So you just screw them into the side, cut the wood dowel or metal rod to length and slide it into the plastic cradle things.
There should be a solution in IKEA too, but otherwise you should be able to find closet rods and hanging discs in your local hardware store! It is really not that complicated. They are diy'ers, so they should be able to figure this out. Tension rods are oké for renters, because they are easily removable, but they own the place and that closet. So they can do anything they want to it!
I'd take ALL of the drawers out of the black unit and take them to the basement, where they could be used in a new Pax unit to store craft supplies. Then I would get rid of the bulky, intrusive white corner unit and slide the chest of drawers to the right where the corner unit was. I'd get a shoe cabinet to put where the chest of drawers was. Once the drawers are removed and the shelves and rods are adjusted, all of the hanging clothes and accessories will fit in the black unit (on two tiers of rods), and the non-hanging clothing will be able to fit in the chest of drawers. I HIGHLY recommend storing off-season clothing at the top of the black unit instead of in the attic. Whittling down my wardrobe so it all fit in one location was the best thing I ever did for myself. Instead of spending half a day lugging totes up and down attic steps, I can now switch out my seasonal wardrobe in less than an hour. You will thank yourself for this later if you do this before the baby arrives.
Just a quick thought about the shoes. I had a huge shoe collection. After the birth of my first baby I went from size 5 to size 5.5 W or Size 6 so had to donate a lot of my shoes. I would suggest not making a permanent shoe arrangement until after the baby is born, just in case this is also your experience. Maybe other Moms can chime in if they experienced this also. Great job today.
Once they've finished with decluttering fully, I would use the Ikea Pax planner to try and re-design the closet. They might only need to move a few drawers to maximise the space. Like if they don't need the drawers on the lefthand side that can be converted back into hanging space. And could the shorter drawers on the right hand side be replaced with the longer drawers, removing the weird little cubby (was it for luggage?). Would the Ikea shoe drawers / slide-outs fit anywhere? Having the drawers closer to the door and lower down would be more accessible and create more hanging space which Christine loves.
I love how you really show the whole process. Decluttering and organizing is often not a quick process. I think it encourages people to keep chipping away at their projects. 💕
Amazing declutter. Wish I could let go of stuff that easily!!! Interesting puzzle. My suggestion would be to tear apart the closet shelving and reconfigure it. Many of those style closet systems you can move drawers and shelves. Or if there is money available measure and totally redo that wall. I would opt for units that have doors to reduce dust etc. If the tension rod doesn’t work (hold the weight) there are little caps you screw into each side and then buy a wood closet rod (like a thick dowel rod) cut down to size and insert into the caps. Love this couple! What a perfect match! ❤
I would take out the small drawer compartment. I would then place the large drawers on the left on the right under the other large drawers. If you start placing the drawers at the bottom, the other drawers will drop down a bit, making the hanging area a lot larger and allowing you to hang normal sweaters and shirts instead of crop tops. The shelves at the very top can all be raised a little bit, giving you more space at eye level. I wouldn't do the tension rod. I would use a regular rod that you can cut to size if necessary. You can make the holes for the rod yourself. This seems to me to be the best solution for all the problems.
You had exact the same idea as me! I am from sweden so Ikea is really something I know - and I must say that the way this wardrobe/closet was done - its crazy! So totally incorrect way to organize or even figure out what they must have been thinking when they built it. But really great work on decluttering and staying positive!!
Loving this closet declutter and organisation so far! If that red jewellery drawer doesn't really get used, I'd suggest taking the jewellery section out and using the drawer to put folded scarves on 😊. That's what I did and it works a treat 😉. Also, if the drawers on the left hand side can be emptied, you could remove those and the shelf and have another longish hanging space 😊
I love that because it's something she loves and the scarves are pretty. It's good to be able to see the clothes that spark joy, it helps you to feel content with the clothes you do own.
It's really not a small wardrobe. Plus they have heaps of other storage in the bedroom. They just have way too much stuff like all of us do. I've been trying to change my mindset that I don't need more storage, I need less stuff. That being said, I think Colin and Christine are doing very well with their decluttering journey. It's great that they thrift so many things instead of buying new as well.
I loved this segment organizing the closet was a puzzle and I really like how Collin was a big part of it. It will be a huge difference in space when the large dresser is gone.
The previous owners probably had the rods first, then decided they wanted shelves/drawers and added them later. I would suggest taking out all drawers, shelves, and rods and start over to make it what you need.
This is a Frankenstein closet. The previous owner did this to make it look build in and because of the awkward thing on the bottom left. The narrow compartment is not original to ikea and that is why the drawers won’t fi in there. My suggestion is: Take the small drawers on the bottom right out and put them in the very left compartment, where the big drawers and pullouts are. That way Collin can use the small drawers and will have a tiny space beside the drawers to put his hanging stuff, which isn’t a lot. On top of the smaller drawers and the shelf above he can put the hats. The big drawers on the left, that you take out, can go on the bottom right. Start as far down as possible and just stack all, but one, drawers on to of each other. Remove the tiny pull out for jewelry, which doesn’t work for her anyway, rise up the glass shelf and put the remaining big drawer on to of the others. There will still be enough space to hang stuff and on the right you gaining enough space to hang more short stuff like skirts. To properly use the small compartment in the middle, take a wooden dowel and to wooden pieces, in which you drill a whole big enough for the dowel to fit in. Slide the wooden pieces on the dowel and the slide the dowel in place, so it aligns with the other dowels. Hold it in place and screw the wooden pieces to both sides of the compartment. This will be sturdy enough to hang all the dresses. To make it blend in more, color the wood black, once you screwed everything in.
Omg the closet was frustrating but ye did fantastic, well done. Getting the white unit out will make a big difference too. I’m very impressed with Collins tee shirts. The decluttering pile is huge again. The Space Maker is doing a fantastic job. The two dogs are adorable 🐕🦺🐕🦺 Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐕🦺🐕🦺
For the area you are going to put hats, I suggest you buy decorative hat boxes. You can put several in one box. Keeps them clean and looks pretty. I did different shaped decorative boxes in my closet for storage. Looks great.
I started using that clothing app a few weeks ago after it was mentioned, it's really great! Makes it so much easier to figure out a few key pieces that will help me get more out of my current wardrobe instead of just buying random bits on impulse, and figure out new clothing combinations. Takes time to set up but worth the effort. Thanks so much for the tip!
I feel like the spot with the sports bras in the closet could also be used to hang her little scarf collection. I feel like she might love to see her scarves neatly hung in her closet instead of in a basket and it would make this little square so much cuter. 🥰
Loved how you worked with what you have guys. Wardrobes are expensive, so sometimes we've just got to make things work. Such a lovely family to watch too. April, you are so good at finding wonderful, interesting people. I always learn something new each episode ❤
I think I would just take out the two drawers in the right cabinet with the five smaller drawers under it. You could actually hang stuff. On the left side you could put longer dresses because the smaller drawers are only on the right. Is what I‘m saying understandable because I’m not really good at explaining?😅
Or she kann take out the five smaller ones and that L-shaped IKEA divider and put the two big one down and the shelv too. You kann put the small drawer, wher you have the lost socks space.
So glad you had a good week with book signings and visiting your parents. . Missed having a video but relaxing is also important. Hope your Dad is doing ok.
I'm pretty sure it is Ikea. If you remove the two big top drawers of the right element you get a pretty usable space for hanging shirts and even long dresses besides the smaller drawers. Thats the way that element is actually intended.
The small slide out drawers on the left are for shoes and you could take out the shelves in the narrow section where you were thinking of putting dresses. Out of season stuff in nice boxes on the top shelves would be good and help the space look ‘cleaner’ to. Maybe an extra shelf from ikea in the awkwardly short hanging rail on the left and take the rail out and take out the shelf above where the tank tops are hung to give more space to hang things properly. They’d also fit and extra big drawer under the short hanging in the middle for a better use of that space I limit myself to my wardrobe space for all my clothing (summer/winter) so I’m ‘not allowed’ to overflow the space 😂.
My sugggestion is to remove this little drawer on the right bottom sight. You can put the things from there into the white drawer. Then you can install the two black drawers on the right side to the bottom so that you will have space to hang clothes there.
I wrote an earlier comment about perhaps hanging folded pants in the shorter section, but the tops work super! I love how folded organized Colin is! I’m the same. Although i also love the haning part in my closet 💗 Looking forward to the next episode! Love that the white drawer situation can be moved out of their bedroom 🙏🏻
They both have way too many clothes even after de cluttering. She could wear a different outfit without having to wash for two months! I would much rather have a simple wardrobe that I treasured and live in a calm, clean space….but that’s just me. Try it, it’s quite freeing ❤
Agreed. I feel like, if you don't have the space, you don't get to indulge in bringing more and more clothes home. 'Live within your means' and all that...
We had a similar setup to the drawers/hanging space at 35:04, but our top drawer broke... took the broken drawer out and moved the shelf surface down, and then had a longer hanging space.
Great job decluttering! I would maybe remove a couple of those drawers on the right to give longer hanging space. Then relocate those drawers to the left, if possible. You may be able to then hang dresses to the left, on that rod, depending on how many dresses there are, since there is an open space below where those white drawers were. Then you could bring clothing from the white closet to that area and make the white closet for Colins clothes. If you did this, you could add drawers or shelves to the area where you were going to add a tension rod. Since Colin likes folding as opposed to hanging, I would add cube storage or drawers to the white closet for him. I just like the idea of separating each others clothing, giving them their own space. The white dresser could have stayed and just used for Colins clothing since he prefers folding. But, I think adding drawers and/or cubes to the white closet would probably work best, and like you said, opening up that area since the room is so small. That little yellow table could be a nice little table for when baby becomes a toddler. Looking forward to next week! :)
I was starting to wonder if baby was born and where this family went. I’ve been enjoying this series. I really like this couple and how they work together. They are doing such a great job letting things go and keeping what they want use and need.
Rearrange the pax units: Remove the narrow section at bottom right and put in other narrow section. Either: Lower the drawers to bottom so that hanging space is usable. OR move all the drawers from left section to right section and use left section for hanging. Move the hats, purses & accessories to the shelves in the white cabinet.
Yes....so frustrating to look at all the shelf holes along the side panels, totally designed for moving drawers and shelves into a custom unit. First thing after decluttering should of been to rearrange the closet unit for each category of clothing. Had to fast forward after socks....too stressful 😳
Half way through the video. Never seen April that clueless😢. I'm not a fan of pulling every thing out of the room, but with that weird Pax it would be way easier to clear it completely, rearrange and then move things back. I hope Christine will be able to let more clothes go. It is a lot of very similar stuff in huge amounts. She would be able to see her stuff
As long as they keep the amount of clothing they have both kept, then keeping these particular storage units organised is going to prove very time consuming I think. I expect once they have their baby they will realise this but good luck to them, I'm loving seeing their progress.🍀
With it being an ikea closest, can’t you take the drawers out entirely and rejig it a bit to have the full-width drawers on the bottom and either get rid of the half-width drawers or add another full width drawer? To give you more height to hang clothes
Love this series!! Wonder if it would make sense to give Collin the small separate closet for all his stuff so it’s contained and organized separately for him!
If you remove the two large drawer on the right hand side then it gives some long hanging without removing the small drawers. And can replace the flat pull outs with one of those removed drawers.
Ouuuh a Tetris challenge ! Love it 🎉 I do really like the idea of hanging the hats, although the closet might then need doors to avoid dust. What I would do is - Loose the two middle drawers on the right cubby, to get back the hanging bar, to hang the few dresses on the left (they can hang all the way down !). It almost doubles the hanging space ! - Take one of these two middle drawers on the right to use on the bottom of the left cubby (the size seems right and the two pull out shelfs are useless anyway). - You can also use the shelf on top of these two middle drawer to put on top of the left cubby, for his pants for instance. - With the space gained on his size, he can leave a drawer in the middle for her. - Loose the jewelry shelf and hang the shelf on top a bit lower to gain hanging hight. - In the weird thin cubby, I would put shelfs for jeans and sweatshirts. - Put bedding and towels on the top shelf’s, with seasonal clothes in bins. - Loose the other closet and the fabric dresser and get a shoe cabinet. She might lack a bit of space, but I think after declutterring his part, he might free another drawer for her in the middle. Hope that helps !
April, I have a small place and regularly declutter clothes. However you inspired me to clean out the stuff I never do such as paperwork and beauty products. I found facial toner I bought in 2006 and paid bills from 2003. Yeesh. I feel really accomplished though.
Great effort!!!!🎉❤Personally I feel like that tall skinny corner white cupboard needs to go. Any storage that "hides" things is useless long term. It would be better to get a garment rack for the dresses. Just a thought!😊❤
I love watching your declutters with them😊 One idea: If you put seasonal clothes in clear boxes and store them up high, rearange the shelves, maybe you are able to cut the hole corner closet. That would free up your bedroom so much!
Oh, I have so many ideas of rearranging shelves in the wardrobe and taking out the rods. Then out with those white shelving units. Try to make do without them. But my idea of decluttering starts somewhere else. All out and then move only back (once) what stays. Not moving and shuffling stuff from left to right. I don’t have the patience.
@@SpaceMakerMethodthank you so much for this episode!! *Finally* someone showing a bedroom that looks like ours (in the UK without a walk-in closet!) Personally I would've moved the right side skinny 2xdrawers and 2xbaskets over to the "tension rod" space if they fit, and dropped the 2xdrawers lower, to allow for the right side rod hanging dresses, skirts and jackets... But what you did TOTALLY worked out beautifully! 😍 In our bedroom we have a (1rod+skinny shelves) wardrobe and 2xMALM drawer units, leaving a tiny path around our superking bed and nightstands, so the struggle is real!! 😅
All I could think was pull the whole closet out and get something that would be a better solution! But then after hanging the short tops and the sleeveless over the hanger tada!! The puzzle was solved! Great job ladies! As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
If you look carefully, the room is so small that the right hand bedside table goes all the way from the bed to the wall in the back of the closet. The reason it appears there’s nothing in the lower left corner of the closet is because it’s so there’s room to pull out the bedside table drawers. If they put closet doors in, there wouldn’t be room for a bedside table on that side. They can’t slide the bed over because there needs to be room to walk in the other outside door (what is with the bedrooms both having extra egress doors, they are too small for that) and room to open the wardrobe door.
- Remove the hanging rod and the lower shelf from the column 1. - Move the two drawers from the column 4 into the column 1 (Collin can use these since he's the tall one). - Remove the shelf from under the tank tops. - Hang the longest dresses in the left section of the column 4 so they fall next to the bottom right drawer section. For the column 2: if the tension rod can't hold the weight, there are two solutions. Use a double-sided silicone tape (Nano Tape) to better the grip of the rod. Or - get the plastic recess wall rod brackets (Amazon, e-bay) and glue them to the sides. Hi from Sydney, Aus 👋🙃
I love the thought process and figuring it out. I always love bras, underwear then socks in that order as to the body parts. Top to bottom. Great ideas y’all.
I would put curtains over the door in the bedroom and then put the headboard against that wall. How often do you need to use the door in the bedroom when you have the front door 10 ft away. Then If the nightstands don't fit on that wall I would sell them and buy smaller ones. The other closet in the corner should be removed also. You can also buy curtains to put over the Ikea closet space (wall to wall) so that when your laying in bed you are not starring a clothes. You can get a clothing rod that hangs from the celling for that area. The room should not feel so cramped and stressful.
Hi April, with the closet situation, you can ask her husband if he can take the unused rod out by the window have it cut down to size at a metal shop nearby and install it where you want to put her dresses. You can also ask him if he can move the dresser either out of the way if not in use, or moved closer to the door to give room to where her dresses used to be. Maybe it could still be a good place for her dresses to remain if everything is moved enough to give her plenty of room to get in.
Seasonal swaps help a lot too with small closets. I just put up my summer stuff and pulled out the wintery stuff. Accessories area in that empty space would be cute or clear bins to see through.
Pax is great! If you relocate the two big drawers from the right, then there would be space for long and short stuff on hangers. One drawer on top of the others is high but since Collin is tall he could still you is it. Also the second one could be useable for him. You only loose the reck from the left but gain so much more space on the rack on the right.
I don't know if anyone has already said this - I haven't read comments and am still watching. And maybe you find a solution... You don't need a tension rod in that space in the closet. Buy two closet rod end flanges (there's usually one that's round that the rod fits straight into and one with an open slot that you install facing the top to drop the other end of the rod into so it can be removed. Then just buy a closet rod longer than needed and measure carefully how long a rod you need. It has to be long enough to stay securely in the flanges, but not so long that you can't easily get the rod in and out. Once you've measured and figured it out, mark your rod and cut it to size with a hacksaw. It's not hard to do - really! It just takes a little time and perseverance. Voila! Hanging space! ETA: When figuring out where to put the flanges, be sure to leave enough space so you can get hangers in and out - you need enough room to lift and have the hook clear the rod. Maybe measure the other rods for an idea of how much headspace to leave. ETA AGAIN: I went back and hit play, only to hear, "It should be here on Wednesday"! 😂😂 Oh well! If the tension rod doesn't work out...
Having shoes in the bedroom as a Canadian is a weird thing since we normally have/build storage near the front and back doors. Dress/heels maybe but another option is could they add shoe storage near a door? Also in the weird space in the right… looks like a good folding / hanging pants height. Or accessories like you were thinking.
Nice job. I think I would put his pants and tshirts in the top 2 drawers. He said he reaches for the button up shirts less often. He is taller. Middle and lower drawers seem more inconvenient for him. The drawers on the left, I think, seem even better because he doesn't have to bend over so far. But I think you all did a great job! It looks much more calm. 👍🏼
When i didn't see your video, I thought maybe Christine had her baby. I can't remember when shes due.😊 Im so happy that you got to go to your parents house and spend time with them. Im glad your dads doing well. I missed the part on what transplant your dad had. I had a Kidney Transplant 8 years ago.😊
My only suggestion for the un-ideal closet sitch is to continue decluttering down to the space they have available. I also would really want to get rid of the corner closet, or move it. And maybe the white drawers. That room is too small to house all of that! :) Option 2 would be, yeah, to take out the wonky black closet & replace it with something that works better for them. If that's an affordable option.
I’ve found for higher shelve a small stool that folds this can either pop under the bed or down the side of the cupboard . To stop dust buy lidded boxes for the high area . I wouldn’t have shoes in the bedroom but that’s just me I was brutal with my shoes I looked at what I really put on against my fantasy self . I had invested in shoes over the years but some just weren’t comfortable and this is a must .

I thinks they should get doors for the Pax closet to bring calm to the room.
Or even curtains from the ceiling if there isn’t enough space for doors or they are cost prohibitive.
@@EmOrganizer absolutely get rid of the yellow table. Move everything

Ikea Pax is really easy for rearraging and getting more or different drawers etc, so maybe start from scratch, take everything out and start new 👍
Especially the very flat drawers that you don't seem to find practical should be removed to leave room for hanging things!

Yes, I am copying my rely comment to someone else here 😊
And they should add doors!

I'm so sorry for your loss. But it's beautiful that he brought life to people that were so sick 💙
I am sorry for your loss. I think it is wonderful of you to share your story and spread the message of the importance of organ donation. Thank you.
May you be healed
Prayers to you and your loved ones. Your son is an angel who lives on in heaven and within the souls of those who he saved. Amen.
So very very sorry. It must be a very difficult time for you. We all don’t know you but are thinking of you. ♥️
I love Collin! He’s masculine but confident enough to embrace things that are traditionally feminine traits, ie flower arrangements.
I was blown away by his folding technique too 🤌
That is the real masculinity.
@@hllb exactly what I said too 💗😂
This was on my mind the whole video 😅
Do it!
agree, that layout worked for the previous owners, its all adjustable so can be moved ti fit them
What I like about ikea pax is that you can take out shelves, bins, and drawers and rearrange them as your needs change!
YES! They have the disc in plastic to rest right above your shower molding for the rod.
I was going to suggest that too
So nice of her mom to always help! :)
We LOVE Mary💛
Amazing support. Well done Mary.
Mum…..is awesome ❤
@SpaceMakerMethod Mary looks just like an American actor whose name I sadly don't know. It's been really bugging me!
Yeah… plus post baby I lost a LOT of patience for lots of my shoes.
@@Quokkasioput my last pair of heels on consignment last week 😢. They weren't especially high but I adored them. But those days are gone.
My feet grew in pregnancy a half inch per child. I am so glad to hear this happened to other people too…
yup, feet grew with each child. Had to donate shoes, boots, ski boots, ice skates, rollerblades. :(
My feet went from 6 to a 7
Once they've finished with decluttering fully, I would use the Ikea Pax planner to try and re-design the closet.
Yes I'm not a fan of the "handle it once" process. Creates too much pressure. If I'm ready to let it go, I'll let it go. It
You have the patience of a saint and you are so diplomatic doing a frustrating job.
Yay an hour!!! You’re truly the only person I look forward to watching all week April… thanks for the caring and fun content ❤
Thank you so mcuh! Hoe you enjoy this long episode! It was a tough project to figure out.
Sure is! Wowsa… I think you made a huge improvement tho!
Same it's my treat after working a long weekend in retail
You can move the drawers on the right hand side down to the bottom and that will give you a full hanging space
I was yelling this at the screen! 😂 I guess they couldn’t hear me. 😊
I love watching this family declutter! So motivating!
They're truly such great people.💛
I would take out the small drawer compartment.
Omgoodnessss the layout of the room. What a challenge.
🤯
I absolutely love Christine’s mum ❤, they are such a sweet family..
I think the short hanging area was for pants. Would curtains on a ceiling track help to keep dust out (along with visual clutter?)
I love how you show the full process, including when you're stuck for a solution.
Did I squeal with delight when I saw this pop up on my feed? Yes, yes I did. LOVE this series!
ONE HOUR! you're spoiling us April :D Love this couple!
What is the name of the app I’m trying to find it
@@Ddj13 it's called whering
I feel like the spot with the sports bras in the closet could also be used to hang her little scarf collection. I feel like she might love to see her scarves neatly hung in her closet instead of in a basket and it would make this little square so much cuter. 🥰
Such a nice couple. I have to admit watching this stressed me out. Way to many clothes. Such a small space.
same, they stress me out. they need to learn about dana k white's container concept. they are trying to put too much into their home.
Yes, and those 2 larger drawers could go onto the left, 1 to replace the "weird shelf drawers" and 1 above the existing drawers.
We are so attached to our stuff. I always try to declutter thinking “What would I miss if I had a fire? “ It makes it easier to let go of stuff.
So glad you had a good week with book signings and visiting your parents. . Missed having a video but relaxing is also important. Hope your Dad is doing ok.
Isn't it an IKEA closet? I'm pretty sure you can rearrange the drawers.
I'm pretty sure it is Ikea. If you remove the two big top drawers of the right element you get a pretty usable space for hanging shirts and even long dresses besides the smaller drawers. Thats the way that element is actually intended.
YES❤❤❤ Right side of closet, sock area.. Drop the longer side drawers to the bottom to free up hanging space!
Winston is so precious. Wishing your dad a speeding recovery!
Colin's folding skills are extreme!
@@rnggall9640 yes! I love KonMari folding and our tops drawers look the same as his 💗
The small slide out drawers on the left are for shoes and you could take out the shelves in the narrow section where you were thinking of putting dresses.
*Collin ☺️
another brilliant video, missed you so much last week
They both have way too many clothes even after de cluttering. She could wear a different outfit without having to wash for two months! I would much rather have a simple wardrobe that I treasured and live in a calm, clean space….but that’s just me. Try it, it’s quite freeing ❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Agreed. I feel like, if you don't have the space, you don't get to indulge in bringing more and more clothes home. 'Live within your means' and all that...
I am so in love with this series, and so happy to hear your family, especially your dad are doing well. TFS❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness!!! Came for a declutter but Wow😮 Maggie is gorgeous. Challenging storage space!!
Could you remove the two drawers on the right to allow more length for hanging dresses
This motivated me to declutter my closet! Yay! I rotated all my summer and winter clothes. It feels so good! One garbage bag out for donation
Rearrange the pax units:
Remove the narrow section at bottom right and put in other narrow section.
I did not know your dad had a surgery. Sending prayers for healing.
As long as they keep the amount of clothing they have both kept, then keeping these particular storage units organised is going to prove very time consuming I think. I expect once they have their baby they will realise this but good luck to them, I'm loving seeing their progress.🍀
For some long dresses, I use the double hanger method and take the bottom up. If it is a "fancy dress," I put it in a clothes bag.
With it being an ikea closest, can’t you take the drawers out entirely and rejig it a bit to have the full-width drawers on the bottom and either get rid of the half-width drawers or add another full width drawer? To give you more height to hang clothes
Put the shoes up on top. In the clear bins. And then keep something in the room to stand on to reach them
Love this series!! Wonder if it would make sense to give Collin the small separate closet for all his stuff so it’s contained and organized separately for him!
If you remove the two large drawer on the right hand side then it gives some long hanging without removing the small drawers. And can replace the flat pull outs with one of those removed drawers.
This!!
Ouuuh a Tetris challenge ! Love it 🎉
I do really like the idea of hanging the hats, although the closet might then need doors to avoid dust.
What I would do is
- Loose the two middle drawers on the right cubby, to get back the hanging bar, to hang the few dresses on the left (they can hang all the way down !).
Love this series and this couple!
Maybe you can even sell it and buy some parts from Ikea for the big closet if needed🤔
Wow! Now that’s great decluttering and organization!
So inspiring. I can't get enough.
I look forward to Sundays so much April , I love your videos ❤
Can shoes be collected in a separate cupboard by the front door? This will also keep the apartment cleaner.
I am so impressed by this team, this project, and your progress. And that was fun?
You are all doing such a great job. Congrats injoy your new start as a family ❤
Christine will find her style will change a lot as a new mom as well, she might find she gets rid of even more after the baby arrives.
I started using Whering thanks to her! Such a great, practical series with a really sweet couple 💕
Get a wardrobe rod you can cut to size for the custom space, stronger than a tension one! Love this series ❤
I just love love love the family ❤ and the doggies ?! Omg my heart ♥️
This episode was sooo worth the wait!
Quickest I've ever clicked on a video notification 😅
Thank you! It's an extra LONG episode today since I missed last week's! Enjoy!
@@SpaceMakerMethodthank you so much for this episode!! *Finally* someone showing a bedroom that looks like ours (in the UK without a walk-in closet!)
Personally I would've moved the right side skinny 2xdrawers and 2xbaskets over to the "tension rod" space if they fit, and dropped the 2xdrawers lower, to allow for the right side rod hanging dresses, skirts and jackets... But what you did TOTALLY worked out beautifully! 😍
In our bedroom we have a (1rod+skinny shelves) wardrobe and 2xMALM drawer units, leaving a tiny path around our superking bed and nightstands, so the struggle is real!! 😅
All I could think was pull the whole closet out and get something that would be a better solution! But then after hanging the short tops and the sleeveless over the hanger tada!! The puzzle was solved! Great job ladies! As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
Love to see doors on the closet. It would really destress that entire room.😊
My advice: Stay out of thrift stores if you do not need anything. NEED. (This includes online used apps too.)
I can’t wait to see how you fix this space at the end of all of this.
I can't remember when shes due.😊
Im so happy that you got to go to your parents house and spend time with them.
