Very clean work! Fellow UA-camr here and I totally appreciate your craftsmanship and attention to details. The laser is an awesome idea to get the initial takeoffs. I’ve been following ya for a while on IG and stoked to see you on YT. Keep kicking ass, your craftsmanship is awesome. 🤛
Cool video Schannon!! I came here from GTP on fb. I’ve never done a floating bench, but I’m sure one day I’ll refer back to this video when I do! Good tips and nice truck, wish I had an F 250 too!!
Great video and tips! I especially love the tip dding pieces to the edge to fix the gaps. I was wondering since the wall is vertical but the bench is pitched, didn't you have to worry about angling the back edge of the foam that touches the wall?
I follow you on IG, I had not noticed that you had a UA-cam channel! You have come a long ways this past year! Way to go! I’m getting ready to have my crew install a floating shower seat and I’m concerned about waterproofing. So I wanted to see how others are doing it. I am using the same granite bracket, they are awesome!
@@ThatTileChick Floating seat worked out great! It ran across the whole shower so it was 60 inch slab of granite, we used Granite Bracket’s brackets, I think you do too? Client is super happy with her new shower!
Wouldn’t you want two brackets one more towards the left and one to the right not only to give more support but to keep it from breaking over time ... I have no knowledge in the field so that’s what my common sense is telling me lol thank you. I love your IG page. I helped a friend do a bathroom the other day and I kind of am in love with “tiling” and doing bathrooms etc. I’m an HVAC guy tho :) ! Keep up the great work.
Ideally two brackets would be best, because of the angle I opted for one. Each bracket can support up to 320 lbs. With the bracket and 3” of foam plus the thinset mortar and tile it’s plenty strong. It also gets tiled into itself for more support. Thanks for watching and I’m happy you enjoyed your tiling experience!
I've seen Sal do these floating benches too. The dangfangled sorcery still amazes me!!! Just curious but, how many times did you jack yourself up on that bracket?? Cuz, I know for a fact I would of hit that thing a ton of times on a job!! Very well done Baby Thor!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Is this bench for a person? Foam around one bracket doesn't seem very strong to me. How's this going to work? How much weight do you think the finished product will be able to handle?
Looks great, but is one bracket going to be strong enough to support the bench on the ends? I know the wall tile on either end will but up to the bottom. I’m sure you’ve done this type of install before, but just curious to hear your thoughts. Great video, thanks!
Hey thanks for the tutorial! I'm about to do a similar thing- how do you tile the bottom of the bench? Or do you? Do you have a vid which shows the tiling process?
I had to double check my tools. We have the same truck, saw, angle finder, saw horses 😁. nice prep. Are you going to use the tile to support the sides?
@@ThatTileChick is it easier to work with? I know it's cheaper but does it work? Do you put a water repellent paint like Redfin on? Also how did you learn to tile? Great work!!!
Ok, I worked on elevators for 40 years, so we are a little anal about things. I just imagine some big girl getting her freak on with a large man on your one bracket bench. Then calling you up and saying. "I dont know what happened it just collasped". Two brackets seems like a well spent $25.00 extra.
These type of foam products are actually rated for tile without any brackets I add one for support and peace of mind. Two would have been good as well but with the neo angle there still would have been a weak spot.
Well take to much time the way you do it you should set the bench before after you drywall all around the bench so you dont have to put this stupide bracket
Nice to see a woman's logic in this profession. Its refreshing. Looking forward to seeing more!
Nice job! I like watching women in the industry knock it out. Look forward to more videos

Nice tip on incrementally adjusting your template to fit perfectly!
Very well done!!! I really enjoyed the little details you showed.
Making it look easy!
I'm so glad that you made a channel. You've almost completed the climb to 1k subs! Keep it up!
Thank you for the support Chad!
Looks great! Love that our brackets are able to help out with your projects.
Good videos! Always great to see how other tile contractors do things! Keep up the good content, and happy tiling!!
We can learn something new everyday! Thank you for the support and for watching! Happy tiling!
Great video Schannon! Looks great.
Cheers
Thank you =) Hope you are doing well

Thanks for watching and I'm happy you had your question answered =)
Very professional job 💪💪

Detailed video. Love it. If I wanted to install an extra bracket for piece of mind would make a difference? Thank you 🙏
Thank you for watching! It absolutely wouldn't make a difference you can do three if you wanted its all in what you feel comfortable with!

It will absolutely hold up to normal use, I'm sure if you hung from the ceiling and dropped onto it there may be some damage =p
Hey thanks for the tutorial! I'm about to do a similar thing- how do you tile the bottom of the bench? Or do you? Do you have a vid which shows the tiling process?
You can see her sticking the tiles at the end of the video. She props up two legs to hold it underneath
Great video.
Very good video, thanks!!!
Hey enjoying the channel so far, can you put in the description where you got that bracket?
Absolutely!
I had to double check my tools. We have the same truck, saw, angle finder, saw horses 😁. nice prep. Are you going to use the tile to support the sides?
Hahahah ! That’s crazy. Good taste 😜 and yes I did tile in the sides
Nice video, 👍
Thank you Wayne!

You should butt the hook of your tape measure on the 90° wall and measure to the 45°wall, instead of vice versa. Would be more accurate/easier to read
I'll give that a go on my next neo angle! Thanks for the insight!
I'm in love
Good stuff
Thank you!
You keep putting out great advice, love it
what brand of laser is that? I would like to buy one.
Huepar 360 line laser on amazon
Good
Thank you!
What laser level are you using?
Nice job! How much weight do you think a bench like that could hold?
300+ easy Jim!
Where do you get your knee pads
They are called superior built you can purchase them on Amazon!
What is the advantage of the foam board your using over Hardi and Schluter ? What is the differences?
The material and safer to use and provide a waterproof install in less steps

😍
What kind of foam board? I don’t understand how foam is strong enough to sit on
same...i dont get it
Where's the link to the finished product?
From what I understand a floating bench is not attached to three walls, but only one wall. Nice job though.
i don't understand how the foam holds the weight.i mean one good love session and that thing coming down
Is that floating bench able to hold the weight of a 320ish lb. Man???? Forgive my skepticism.
Yes if i built it

How am I spamming, I’m putting out educational information to groups that are there exactly for that. Take your opinion elsewhere kid.
