Uh no Russian does not look similar to any other language it's quite distinct and from what I heard it is the hardest language in the world to learn if u Russian than your pretty lucky like me

Uses it's own script; when an English person sees "freunde" they can at least guess what it reads but when they see "друг" they have no clue wtf that is, which makes learning Russian more difficult 2.) It's not THAT distinct from some Eastern European languages such as Romanian, but people who know a language far from Russian, worse even a language from a more Eastern country (Chinese, Thai, etc) will find nothing that looks alike! "Freunde" at least _looks_ like "friend" so it's easy to remember for an English person, but "друг" or "drug" is nothing alike! 3.) It's grammar is pretty complex too! Russian has more grammar structures yet is more fluid at the same time than English and some other Western languages! And when you know Japanese for example, Russian grammar is NOTHING ALIKE! That said, to most European people Simplified Mandarin (=common Chinese) is the hardest to learn; the script is pictographic instead of alphabetic, the words sound nothing alike, the grammar is hardly alike and makes no sense, and a lot of characters in the script can mean exactly the same thing so the only way to master the language is MANY YEARS OF TRIAL AND ERROR! And Japanese and Maui (=Hawaii language) are very difficult to almost any person on the entire planet!! Their languages developed on their own and didn't evolve from an existing language (Latin --> Spanish --> French --> part of English) So the only few languages that are even 1% alike are pure coincidence! I'm learning Japanese (as Dutch English bilingual) and I'm starting to hate my pudding brain =D
Don't listen to chrizeren. You did miss some story, basically the way the endless eight worked was that you figured out what was going on slowly as more was reveled in each passing episode. Until it is finally cracked in the final episode. Also don't listen to anyone that said that it was stupid and pointless those are the people that have no patience what so ever.

So the characters in the video are from the anime "The melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya" Specifically the picture is from season 2 and an arc in that season called the endless eight. The reason why it seems like people are randomly talking about it is because we were all replying to each other, but the comment system of youtube has changed so much that the reply chain has broken.
