+A Stark I wouldn't say 'better', but Marty from @bluelightningtv works at a slower pace. I've done quite a few of his tutorials and had fairly good success. I prefer the Plearn videos because he seems to do a lot more of what I'd like to do, but I'm just not good enough yet.
I want to thank you for this video. I struggle with teaching my students modern graphic design skills and learning projects that represents clients' requests. Today (1/21/16), I taught my students this skill and how the clipping mask tool actually works. Thank you so much.
I love how you summed all the stuff up at the end, very helpful to make sure any of us that took notes got everything right. Another great video, thank you.
Happy Holidays Phlearn! One thing I'd love to see more of in 2016 is some more free episodes that deal with different elements of photography (lighting, camera & lenses, photographing certain subjects). My favorite free episodes are the ones that are a series where we see an episode about a photo shoot, then the next two or three episodes are taking those shots into Photoshop to create an image (The Sin City image or the Corporate Headhots for example). Looking forward to more Phlearning in the New Year!
@Phlearn: I started using Ps6 last summer. From your videos, I have learned so much, I have created some cool drawings, (created my youtube profile photo) played with hundreds of photos and I am now using Ps6 to create and cut vinyl graphics. You are the goto guy for anything Photoshop I need to know. Great easy to watch videos and you explain each step clearly. Thank you again!!!
This guy is amazing I wished I lived close by I would attend his school if he had one. What I like about him is how he break it down for inexperience fellows like me could understand!
Phlearn! Please do more videos about clipping masks! I just found out how to start using them and I am completely embarrassed that it took me so long to learn how to start using them! I am completely self taught so sometimes these things slip through the cracks with me learning them, but this one is EXTREMELY useful for me! I had been struggling so much and getting so frustrated with trying to adjust one layer of my project, for example trying to adjust one layer or make on layer B&W, etc. I would go to extremes with sometimes even bringing my layer to a new project because I was so frustrated and at least that way I could get the desired effect, even though I knew there had to be a better way! I had to do some searching to find a video that explained it! You guys are my go to for Photoshop learning and I would love to know what all I can do with the clipping mask options! Thank you for all of your amazing tutorials!! I you have helped me so much! --Brittany K
Now that was a great lesson that gives step by step, easy to follow, with video you can go wrong. As you mentioned there is so much possibilities with this lesson. Thanks
Thank you so much for this lesson. Your teaching style is wonderfully easy to follow, and it's actually fun to learn this stuff, and incredibly useful. Happy New Year!~
That tips alt - move with text so cool. very detail - thanks you Phlearn. i have not seen before, cause another tutorial-er though people have already known.
Thanks a lot, I learned a couple of important things. Thanassis Fournarakos, retired (2011) Pro Photographer born in 1946. Have a nice weekend and greetings from Athens, Greece.
Aaron, Thank you for stimulating all photographers creativity and allowing us to give our clients fantastic memories that they will treasure forever. I followed your tutorial and took out one of my favorite sunset pictures from a wedding I shot in 2015 and 'Voila' I have an excited bride again who cannot wait to get a copy. keep it coming you are the BEST./Users/billmills/Desktop/Love copy.jpg
Hey phlearn, I love your guys vids and I was just wondering if you could a make a video about how to make a still image (gold image or any color )and liquefy it to the point to where it looks like it's dripping. It would help me out a lot.😀
thanks dude i regard you as a teacher i have learned so much about cs just in 3days firstly even i saw those boring tutorials. but when i found this channel it was a boon 😊😊 thank you sir
Hey phlearn, as a young aspiring graphic designer I have learnt a lot from watching your videos and following each thing you do with some of my own techniques. I hope you continue to do great videos and have a wonderful 2016. :)
Nice easy video to follow along with, I was doing this by rasterizing the text and then using the magic wand tool to select the inside of the text and copy/paste the image, but then I can't change the font like with this way, thank you!
Awesome tutorial. I know you probably get swamped with questions but how do you do this but actually apply a flat colour stroke or outer glow to the text. Whenever I try to do it the image that is used for the mask is also applied to the stroke/outer glow so you just end up with Bolder text. Thanks in advance!
You are the only person on this planet who teaches Photoshop in such a simple and elaborative manner..
i have learned a lot from your tutorials.
+Manish Arora That's simply not true... he's a good teacher though
+MrQwerty2524 who do you think is better?
+A Stark I wouldn't say 'better', but Marty from @bluelightningtv works at a slower pace. I've done quite a few of his tutorials and had fairly good success. I prefer the Plearn videos because he seems to do a lot more of what I'd like to do, but I'm just not good enough yet.
+Shane Silva Thanks Shane. I'll check him out.
+Shane Silva I think Phlearn is better than bluelightningtv.
