I think the thing about Steve just hating seafood or any foods/snacks that involve using sea products is because the seafoods in Western countries especially the typical White people seafoods are mostly using little to no spices and seasonings for the sake of “maintaining” the flavours of the sea 😂. Meanwhile, in Asian countries, at least in Malaysia, seafood products are very easy to get due to its proximity to the sea itself from mainland Asia, the abundance of sealife and the diversity of it on shallower sea around Malaysian waters, as well as the many spices available on this country due to agriculture and spice trade since before the glory days of Malacca Empire. The use citrus fruits such as lime that eliminates the “fishy odours” and spices that enhance the flavours of the fish or any other seafoods made you feel more opened to taste and even enjoy eating seafoods in Malaysia. Wow that was elaborate. 😂 This is just my personal opinion. Have fun guys!
I absolutely agree. Eating fish at an American restaurant isnt a pleasant experience. The fishy slime ( which we Asians would get rid off before cooking, with lime or salt or tamarind juice or all of them ) is just too off putting.
@@zuraidazakaria7419, you might just answer the question I have always asked my husband (Brit) about why they don't seem to enjoy fish as much as we Asians do. 👍🏽 Thanks to being in Malaysia, he has now learned to enjoy fish and seafood more.

Nasi Air or Watery (Soupy) Rice is a style of porridge famous in the East Coast. Usually people will squeeze the lime to get the juice in, and mix together with the condiment (pickled pepper/jalapeno, salt, chilli powder and sugar) to your liking. Anyway, the food in Perhentian is quite expensive that’s why many local tourists will take with them canned food or instant noodle to stuff their tummy. Should have brought at least a canof mayo tuna or baked bean with you guys or the Malaysian favourite, Maggi Kari noodles.
