The turn-around time of this bird on highway strips is ridiculously short, availability is good, flight hour is "cheap". Gripen 39E is an air-to-air murderer wih Meteor BVRAAM with it's EW suite and manouvreability.
Price is NOT a factor when talking about power and effectivness. All planes are bilt to last, not like plastic toys. I can assure you that the Gripen is an extreme threat to current Russian planes. The Gripen has a more modern targeting system and is much more agile than most of the Russian jets since it being almost 40% smaller than the Gripen. As for speed it is known that the Gripen can reach over mach 2 but as far for the real numbers it's secret.

Great multirole aircraft! Frankly speaking I don't undersstand why Italy does not support the development of this project (i.e thrust vectoring, naval configuration ecc). Gripen in my opinion is the best available replacement of AMX and AV8B. F35 is an expensive failure !
