These are all LA prices btw. So if you live in a more expensive area, don't come here crying saying that I'm wrong and couldn't find the car you want for these prices.
Not everybody can drive stick though (and given an estimate, only 18% of drivers in the US can), and if you are unlucky enough to live in a traffic infested city like LA or NY, stick wouldn't be practical anyways.
Learning to drive stick is not difficult, it literally takes about five minutes for most people. If you buy a sporty car, and don't even want to bother to learn to drive, you are doing it wrong. Buying a sports car with an automatic transmission is like carrying around a phone with a dead battery and never using or charging it. Its just pointless.
That's a terrible analogy. Most sport cars nowadays have dual clutch and even traditional geared automatics like the C7, GTR, the current Ford GT, and others I'm not mentioning. And just because it took 5 minutes for you to learn how to drive manual doesn't mean it'll take 5 minutes for everyone. Me, it took a hell of a lot of time just getting used to the clutch.
Another great car is the 2003-2005 Infiniti G35, I bought one as my first car just about 6 months ago for $6000, however there were multiple for less with higher mileage. The G35 and the M35 are reliable and quick plus they are “luxury” so have heated seats, premium sound system, etc. 260 hp and a 6 second 0-60. Love mine.
I have an 06' Volvo XC70 that i got for 4 grand. 230 horsepower, 2.4L inline 5 turbo, AWD, and a hell of a lot of fun. Seriously. Makes your parents happy (cuz its hella safe) and will put a smile on your face.
you should buy a supra when you know a lot more about modding cars and are more experienced. also what he said, where are you gonna get that much money from? EDIT: the reason why i say this is because you will get the most fun out of modding a supra rather than leaving it bone stock.
I would not get a Supra older than the mk4. Spend the money on a car that actually looks good. You can find plenty of 2010-2012 models for that price range. Economy? Get a 11+ Elantra or 09+ Civic coupe. Sporty? Look for a 05+ 350z....
You should make a list about cheap conventional cars that aren't necessarily fast but are very reliable and/or safe. I know this isn't your style lol but it could be helpful to people including me. Thanks

Quite a few actually. I enjoy making videos for a younger audience. honestly my fast rate in growth shows they were an audience people didn't really connect with, but I managed too. Don't worry, my next few videos will be less directed towards them.
well ive seen alot of foxbodys around my area and people keep turbocharging them and adding superchargers on a stock block and it just blows up on em also my car is based of a mustang its a 1969 mercury cougar it has the same frame but it has a 3 inch longer wheel base
I bought my 68 cutlass supreme for $1200 and I put 2600 into it, without charging my self labor. Took me 2 years and go figure... I'm only at $3800 and I love it. This was 7 years ago when I was 18.
If you want something reliable and cheaper in the long run, I'd recommend the Toyota MR2 Spyder or (for more practicality) a first gen Lexus IS300. Either car will be pretty high mileage at the $5k range, but the MR-S gives you a 2-seater mid-engine rwd layout, and the IS300 gives you a 2JZ engine, RWD, and 4 doors- which I'd say put both of them on the list. Plus, they're both Toyotas, so long-term maintenance won't be nearly as bad as their European (or even US) counterparts.
Seriously? None of these cars are smart buys for people who only have 5K budget. People with only this budget are looking for the best combination of reliability and fun. Mustang? 1995 M3? Audi? PORSCHE??? You literally just picked the most expensive cars with the steepest depreciation.
I highly suggest the mustang. I have a V6 mustang that I bought in 2000. I had to bust that car for about a year after my house burned down and I put almost 25K miles on. The car now 265,000 miles and has never left me stranded and I still drive it ever know and then.
The mopar stage 3 kit I had was insane. I bought mine back in 2005 with 50 miles on it. I have now 135k miles on it with the same kit and the only thing that has broke on me was the boost gauge and the fuel pump which got replaced the next day anyways haha
Hey man, I love your channel and the lists are really helpful. So much so that the first car I bought was the Mitsubishi eclipse GT after seeing one of your vids. It's a great drive and cheap! I recommend it to anyone!!!!
I'd rather get the NB Miata out of all of those. RWD, convertible, lightweight, value-holder, and very customizable. Don't think you'll be seeing a decent 06+ Civic for 5 grand but I would honestly get the 99-2000 Civic coupes over any Civic in that price range.
My dad had one and it was nothing but trouble. Electronic crap kept breaking, the transmission kept failing in different, unrelated ways, and the engine kept going into limp mode because of electrical gremlins. Parts cost just as much as parts for a Jag, so very expensive. A 944 is just as expensive to fix, more reliable, and better in every other way.
nice choice of car what do you plan on doing to it. something small like change the rims gear knob steering wheel or something big like supercharge it or turbo putting a higher gear ratio
ah i see well it seems that yo got everything figured out and so you know easiest way to make the car faster is to put a higher gear ratio like 3.73 or 4.11 gears and a cam wiith a procharger will make all the difference
The SRT4 is the best car on this list if you want power for cheap. A manual boost controller, wastegate, exhaust, tune. And it makes 300whp and over 350ftlb on 22psi stock turbo.
Angle I live in a place where in winter we can get up to 26 inches of snow! Can you please make a list of just fwd (not civics) and awd cars (after the year 2000)??? Thanks!
My top 5 hopeful first cars: 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 1989 Ford F-150 2001 Ford Mustang 2001 Dodge Ram 2008 GMC Sierra I doubt I'll manage to get any of these, but it's just a Hope list of cheap cars I like.

AphroVenator a 2004 mustang is no where near expensive
Dude are u even a car enthusiast??
I highly suggest the mustang. I have a V6 mustang that I bought in 2000. I had to bust that car for about a year after my house burned down and I put almost 25K miles on. The car now 265,000 miles and has never left me stranded and I still drive it ever know and then.
For the mustangs what is your opinion on the 2005 model compared to the 2001 model? Or just your opinion on the 2005.
2005 models are still a mustang they drive great they feel great it just depends on looks and what engine you want
Anthony Walkley The 2005 isn't much faster and imo looks terrible. I wouldn't bother with a S197 unless it was a 2011+ with the coyote 5.0 in it.
Anthony Walkley 2005 and up. Take my word for it. Owned a 1998 1999 2003 2007 2012 2015 and current 2017.
just subscribed few days ago awesome vids!! keep up the great work!!
bought a srt4 last week, cant get more bang for your buck
yes you can i got a 1969 mercury cougar for 2500 bucks and it came with a modified 351w motor had it on a dyno and it made 437 hp
animalchin31 there's one on sale with 500hp for $7k
lol i doubt it. to make a 351w over 500 bhp it'd take everything under the sun. They only made 300hp on a 4 barrel.
Lol if you wanna get laughed at by everyone on the road
The mopar stage 3 kit I had was insane. I bought mine back in 2005 with 50 miles on it. I have now 135k miles on it with the same kit and the only thing that has broke on me was the boost gauge and the fuel pump which got replaced the next day anyways haha
I smashed the like button, subscribed, and turned on notifications! Nice vid man and keep up the good work! 👍
The 2002 Audi TT Quattro can get pricey, sometimes around 9k.
in my area there are like 6 for 3k
TvRock13 25k where I live
PETER SCHREYER DESIGN
what do you expect from audi owners other than thinking their car is worth a lot when its just a bunch of cheap stuff badly assembled
2009 Seat Leon/Cupra is a contender
This aged poorly :(
Porsche 944 is probably the only car you can still find under 5k
trust me I bought one for $1900
I have a 01 gt(:
ah i see is it stock or did you mod it
Well I watched EVERY car video yet! But it still good to be reminded
'Super Awesome Cars' you can get for $1000 please.
Mclaren F1 GTR LM Edition none
Me: Looks at local prices

Me: "yeah, that ain't gonna happen"
This video aged very poorly 😭😭

Hey man, I love your channel and the lists are really helpful. So much so that the first car I bought was the Mitsubishi eclipse GT after seeing one of your vids. It's a great drive and cheap! I recommend it to anyone!!!!
240sx?
Jeff the crazy 1 that's a great choice but many of them are so beat up already.
Tool0GT92 because teenagers try to go all Initial D and crash it
Drift
That Mustang GT looks really nice and thanks
Since "G.T." Seems to be replying to every comment, hi.
hi my man glad you noticed
I'd rather get the NB Miata out of all of those. RWD, convertible, lightweight, value-holder, and very customizable.
Don't think you'll be seeing a decent 06+ Civic for 5 grand but I would honestly get the 99-2000 Civic coupes over any Civic in that price range.
Please stop recommending the Lincoln LS. It is a terrible car.
its ok, its better than some options but thats not saying much
My dad had one and it was nothing but trouble.
I love dodge neon lol. My mom had one when I was little and I just always likes it for some odd reason
Ghost Rider lol same I like it too for some reason
3rd gen camaro?
not a big fan 2nd gen's are more my thing plus the front bumper of a pontiac looks better than the camaro's
Lol no
what engine, trans, and trim level
nice choice of car what do you plan on doing to it. something small like change the rims gear knob steering wheel or something big like supercharge it or turbo putting a higher gear ratio
ah i see well it seems that yo got everything figured out and so you know easiest way to make the car faster is to put a higher gear ratio like 3.73 or 4.11 gears and a cam wiith a procharger will make all the difference
Just came across this channel and I love it. I have an 08 Evo x GSR
Where's the kit car
NOT THIS TIME! XD
Great video!
Wanna see a joke?

Cmon man
Brian Sewell so original
Brian Sewell I hate u 😂
Brian Sewell 😠 lol I got it after a few try's
Got me
The SRT4 is the best car on this list if you want power for cheap. A manual boost controller, wastegate, exhaust, tune. And it makes 300whp and over 350ftlb on 22psi stock turbo.
Where was the Mazda mx5 mk1
Amazing video, keep the great job up!
Angle I live in a place where in winter we can get up to 26 inches of snow! Can you please make a list of just fwd (not civics) and awd cars (after the year 2000)??? Thanks!
My top 5 hopeful first cars:
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
1989 Ford F-150
2001 Ford Mustang
2001 Dodge Ram
2008 GMC Sierra
I doubt I'll manage to get any of these, but it's just a Hope list of cheap cars I like.
