  • How we let our horses self-select their herbs... use a combination of your own intuition, and physical cues/signs from the horse. Cobra has asked for herbs to help with his metabolism - let's see what he chooses and how much! Flax oil and all the supplements I feed: listentoyourhorse.com/shop/

    Hi I also use herbs with my horses and I just wanted to say your doing a really good job but if your horses put their mouths in the bags it can cause cross contamination but other than that your doing a really good job ❤️

    Very interesting episode! Have you tried kinesiology (muscle testing) with the horses? My massage therapist uses regularly during our sessions to work through energy/physical issues and I’m always impressed how effective it is. Question: Is Cobra going to continue to receive these herbs and minerals in his daily feed dish as ongoing support for his body?

    • @ListenToYourHorse
      @ListenToYourHorse  3 роки тому +2

      Cobra (and the other horses) receive whatever they ask for. Sometimes that stays the same for a while, other times it changes every day or two. They may also take breaks in between requests. Humans are always looking for THE diet, or THE supplement regime. But horses are automatically skilled at listening to exactly what their body needs and when.

    This is so interesting with the herbs! If only we humans can do what horses do. T_T

      You can Brianna! It just takes practice. Use this guided meditation to make it easier: shoppe.listentoyourgut.com/guided-meditation-place-your-consciousness-inside-your-body-mp3-audio/

    This is so beautiful! I’m going to stock my “medicine cabinet” full of all of these herbs & give it a try on my guys! Question for you- what do you recommend for healing ulcers? I have an OTTB who has a lot of anxiousness we are working through & I’d love your opinion on what herbs to try to heal it naturally. I have used marshmallow root powder in the past & think I am going to try him on that again.

      You got it! Also offer the organic, or at least cold-pressed flax oil - that is anti-inflammatory and very helpful.

      A vitamin b paste for the nervousness. Did you know that humans suffering from a vitamin B12 deficiency can also lose feelings in their legs or even waist down?? Get some vitamin b tablets for yourself too!

    HAHAHA i gave some fresh dandelions to my horse and she was like...what is this...and she flicked it off to get the hard feed underneath. But next time when i mixed mint leaves in throughout the feed she ate the whole thing...the question now is did she not like the dandelion because she didnt need it or just didnt like it, and did she eat the mint because she liked it or because id mixed it in with everything and she didnt have a choice? Do ALL horses have the same sort of herb wisdom as others? My horse is a healthy young 5 year old girl...maybe she didnt need any herbs but i know they wont hurt her. Especially when she does have a leg locking problem and nervousness

      To see if they actually want a herb, do not offer it together with feed. Offer it separately and even after she’s already had her feed might be best. If she refuses it, then just leave it in a place where she can choose to have it later. Because that might also happen.

      @@ListenToYourHorse hi, my horse was rescued from a situation where basically she lived wild in a field for the first 4 years of her life and she genuinely did not like any food besides what she found in that field, not even carrots, apples, licorice, etc. Luckily she accepts most hay and hard feeds, and I've been slowly introducing everything to her mixed in the feed. She won't accept an apple or carrot by itself still but can take it mixed in...so that's why I don't think she'll accept any herbs by themselves because she genuinely won't see them as food items or medicines. I would love to leave herbs for her to take at her will but she is on a shared agistment with much greedier horses...they will get to it before she does
