I just realized something... The eldest brother became a spirit, The middle brother matured into a wise human, And the youngest chose to be an animal. The movie was about learning to understand each other and the importance of forgiveness and love. "Brothers to each other in this world we remain". Who made this movie? Whoever did is a freaking genius!!! And they said this movie had no plot?! This movie will go down as one of my all-time favorites!!!
I can't believe I'm crying... Such a beautiful and powerful song, and of course the nostalgia... I still don't understand why Brother Bear is considered as a bad movie. I think that it's an emotional movie...
When the earth was young And the air was sweet And the mountains kissed the sky In the great beyond, with its many paths Man and nature lived side by side In this wilderness of danger and beauty Lived three brothers, bonded by love Their hearts full of joy They ask now for guidance Reaching out to the skies up above Great Spirits of all who lived before Take our hands and lead us Fill our hearts and souls With all you know Show us that in your eyes We are all the same Brothers to each other In this world we remain truly Brothers all the same Give us wisdom to pass to each other Give us strength so we understand That the things we do The choices we make Give direction to all life's plans To look in wonder At all we've been given In a world that's not always as it seems Every corner we turn Only leads to another A journey ends, but another begins Great Spirits of all who lived before Take our hands and lead us Fill our hearts and souls With all you know Show us that in your eyes We are all the same Brothers to each other In this world we remain truly Brothers all the same Brothers all the same

Why are they the same? I honestly really like the modern films, such as Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Tangled, The Jungle Book 2016 and Frozen. They're not perfect, but no Disney film ever was that. Even The Lion King had flaws and downsides.
Denahi and Kenai wouldn't have learn anything Kenai and Koda wouldn't meet and become brothers and to think about it Kenai and Denahi would definitely beat the crap out of each other just me
I like how this song and movie represents very good life morals and it shows that the people from the past to the people now haven't really changed( the things that makes us human , that is.)
Yeah, now that I think about it. I guess Kenai's carelessness caused him to anger the spirits and turn into a bear. Therefore, Denahi should punch Kenai because Kenai caused Denahi a fuck load of pain when he thought he lost both of his brothers. Yep.
Teneishia Coleman Well,it doesn't matter anymore since later he realised that he did committed a serious mistake. He learnt his lesson eventually and that's why it's one of my favourite disney animated movie :)
it's shame that sitaka died as an indirect result of kenais carelessness, and it's also shame that koda's mother died as a direct result of kenais' reckless. but at the same time, her death lead to kenai and koda meeting and becoming brothers. still it sucks that two lives had to be lost when they shouldn't have been.
One foreshadowing thing I noticed about Kenai was that before he transformed into a bear, his outfit lookedlike a bear from the neck-up, his totem was a bear, and he went after a bear. (IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE SECOND ONE, DON’T READ THE LAST PART⬇️) In the second one, Nita‘s outfit was also similar to a female bear.
I'll sum up the comments sections for this video and every other disney song video on youtube: 50% explaining why the sing in the video is awesome, 50% explaining why frozen is overrated.
+Urdnot Stark Lol, which just confirms that Frozen is awesome, why else would it be such a hot topic and high-jack topics so easily ;) From jest to earnest, I think very fondly of Brother Bear when I hear the songs, because it was the first movie I ever took my baby sister to see at the cinema. She was seven years old, yet still now almost a decade after remember her first cinema visit. Good times, good memories. Loving something new doesn't mean discarding something old, down the line it'll all be memories :)
Which song in the Lion King even REMOTELY sounds like this? This is Native American inspired music, Lion King is based in Africa so it's African inspired music (mostly). Just because a movie has flying birds doesn't mean it's a rip off. Plenty of movies have birds flying in the sky, it doesn't mean anything. Disney wasn't trying to reinvent a classic, they were trying to make one.
This is a little embarrassing but... this movie came out two months after I was born. And up until I was four I’d watch it everyday until eventually it went “missing”. Even after it went missing I bought another copy about a year later and watched it at least once a month. I kept telling my parents I was going to marry Kenai when I grew up and he was my imaginary friend for years. Whenever my dad would sit in a chair I’d freak out and be like, “dad stop! Kenai is sitting there.” Then when I was seven, my best friend got flowers and a fake wedding dress and I married an invisible Kenai in my neighbors backyard. Not to mention, I made my whole class watch Brother Bear 2 in the fourth grade even though nobody had seen the first movie. 😂 Yeah, I’m glad that’s over...
My favourite Disney movies gotta be Mulan,Aladdin, but most importantly the Lion King and Brother Bear! Those two last movies I watched EEEEEVERY DAY when I was little, and i never got bored...nor do i now!

This is a beautiful song that goes to a great movie. Everthing on earth from the tiny pebble to the giant whale are all connected in someway in the circle of life. Those of you who don't undestand you will someday.
11 years on and I still live breath and love this movies music and story, they really don’t make animated films like they used too. In this world it still remains XD
Back in this time humans lived with the other animals and respected them; they hunted and gathered only as much as they needed and never wasted anything. The meat they ate, the fur for clothing the bones for tools and weapons. Today we take more than we need and waste everything, in 2,000 years it is our hope that our Ancestors will have learned from our mistakes and have attempted to redo what we've undone.
I lived in Alaska for two years, absolutely gorgeous. Moose bigger than mini vans, Eagles, then of course the Northern Lights. I'm not kidding when I say that the Northern Lights is the most beautiful thing I have and ever will lay eyes on. The only thing that's hard to get used to: the sun doesn't rise for very long in the winter, and it doesn't set for very long in the summer. Winter is in the dark and the summer is constant light.
I can remember when this movie was released one of those awful right-wing websites trash it for celebrating "non-Christian" religions, and called it a "gay indoctrination" movie for questioning male roles. I can just imagine what the De Santis crowd would be saying about it if it were released today.
I actually just went to a lecture on this. Not gonna say I'm an expert, but humans are almost certainly not to blame for the extinction of mammoths. Only a few mammoth carcasses have been discovered with clear markings of humans butchering them, and even in those cases, it's not clear that the humans killed the mammoth in the first place. It's really not certain whether or not early humans ever killed mammoths for food, at least not habitually.
A lot of Disney movies haven't turned out well lately. I think they're usually very silly and simple, more for little kids. But they do manage to pull out great stories every so often, and this is definitely one of them!
This movie could have used some more prehistoric animals. Like saber tooths, cave lions, giant sloths, copes tapirs, stage-moose, mastodons, steppe bison, dire wolves, yesterday’s camels, Pleistocene horses, ect.
When the earth was young And the air was sweet And the mountains kissed the sky In the far beyond, with its many paths Man and nature lived side by side But great wisdom does not come without learning And great vision not only with our eyes We can think that we see Truly see you're around us But when we look Do we see with open minds? I have to say I agree. Like I love this movie so much but I must admit the writing got pretty lackluster, especially with Rutt and Tuke becoming nothing more than comic relief characters
Woolly mammoths didn’t live in the coniferous forests of present-day Alaska as seen the this movie- rather they roamed the “mammoth steppe”, a grassland habitat that was around during the glacial Pleistocene. It was actually the transition from grassland to forests that helped kill them off.

True, the elder brother would have preferred to live, I'm sure. :D
hey we are see you can called us ko
It’s sad how Kenai’s excitement and carelessness in that small moment changes him and his family’s life forever
Why is it our entire lives are based on when we're young and careless?

I can't believe I'm crying... Such a beautiful and powerful song, and of course the nostalgia... I still don't understand why Brother Bear is considered as a bad movie. I think that it's an emotional movie...
When the earth was young
And the air was sweet
And the mountains kissed the sky
In the great beyond, with its many paths
Man and nature lived side by side
In this wilderness of danger and beauty
Lived three brothers, bonded by love
Their hearts full of joy
They ask now for guidance
Reaching out to the skies up above
Great Spirits of all who lived before
Take our hands and lead us
Fill our hearts and souls
With all you know
Show us that in your eyes
We are all the same
Brothers to each other
In this world we remain truly
Brothers all the same
Give us wisdom to pass to each other
Give us strength so we understand
That the things we do
The choices we make
Give direction to all life's plans
To look in wonder
At all we've been given
In a world that's not always as it seems
Every corner we turn
Only leads to another
A journey ends, but another begins
Great Spirits of all who lived before
Take our hands and lead us
Fill our hearts and souls
With all you know
Show us that in your eyes
We are all the same
Brothers to each other
In this world we remain truly
Brothers all the same
Brothers all the same
Incredible lyrics listed with great lessons of what life has in store for us to learn as we all grow older and wiser. I realize that now today and I'm almost 30 years old.
It took me 15 years to realize the old man in the beginning of the movie was Denahi
I found out today. XD
Same LMAOOO
@Jay Philip S. Wait, I thought we were talking about the old man narrator?
Ikkk
I first watched the film at 5 and I only realised that like last year lmaoo
This movie makes me so happy
When I was younger, I find funny because they looked like me, and Tanana always remembered of my grandmother. Then I realized, they are natives too, but in a different part of our continent. It always brings me childhood memories, love that ❤️
Denahi is honestly my favorite disney character, ever. He had such a versatile personality to begin with and had lots of character development.
next to "lion king" this is the best disney movie ever
agreed
No doubt. My top 3 are Lion King, Brother Bear and Tarzan
Yup
2025 live action Brother Bear calling it now
Royal Payn literally my top 3 as well, just placing Tarzan before Brother Bear.
Am I the only one who had a little crush on Kenai?
no really :p i too (i think) xD
HierKönnteIhreWerbungStehen I really liked Sitka honestly... but Kenai was a strong second place
HierKönnteIhreWerbungStehen Naaaah
No exactly, I love him too 😍😂
I felt the same about Nita in the second film XD
This is the best childhood movie from Diney for me.♥
Thanks Diney for this beautiful movie.
Brothers are inSAAAAAANE
El-Ahrairah oh god i laughed harder than I should’ve
WHY!? WHY HAVE YOU CURSED ME WITH THIS!!??
. . . I can never unhear it now. . .
The lyrics are so beautiful! Incredible
Kenai made me laugh when he rode that mammoth! ☺🐘🐬🌊.
He's such a silly goofball
I'm still trying to figure out how he got up there. Did he jump from a ledge?
He made me laugh when he said just tie it up.
Riding a mammoth looks like fun.
I thought they were extinct
This movie needs more appreciation
Thisisnotmyusername I agree!!
It probably will get more appreciation because i just wrote a letter to Disney
I love Hercules Mulan Tarzan Brother Bear being rated G
Philocetes played by Danny Devito
Mushu played by Eddie Murphy
Tarzan played by Tony Goldwyn
Kenai played by Joaquin Phoenix
2:52-54 I just love the way Kenia mocks Denahi "Just tie it up"! LOL
#NoDAPL This song is beautiful and we should take it to heart when it comes to preserving our environment and the integrity of our fellow humans.
and animals especially.
Disney has lost it's touch and image.
Disney movies these days are all the same. 🙏. Smh. Please bring back the old Disney.🙏
I know right but they pick the perfect voice (Tina Turner) to sing this
+Kelsye Jordan true🙏

megadracosaurus it's just an opinion dude. We all have different views....don't take it too hard.lol.
Rich Liv Not taking it hard, lol. Just wondering why you have that opinion.
Very underrated and beautiful movie
Damn, this movie is already 15 years old this year. Where has the time gone ?

17, now
3:07, just think, if Kenai had tied up that basket properly the whole plot of the movie would never have happened
I would actually like to see that

The incomparable Tina Turner. Your music is legend.
Mr. Collins......your lyrics are beyond anything out there.
i have seen this movie over 6 times now and its still awesome every time i watch it :D

Why do I feel like that this song should get an award? It's so god dang awesome! It's like the Circle of Life, but for the american wilderness.

A song so spiritual and strong, Phil Collins got jealous and forced the people working on the album to put his own version of the song on the CD.
Wow. What an asshole -_- Tina Turner kicks ass! I would've sued
I personally like Phil Collins version better
Uhm, it’s because he wrote it and he has the right to sing a version of song?? Just saying
That’s not true, Tina’s version is the third song on the album, Phil’s is a bonus track. Please do some research next time before hating Phil Collins.
one of the best movies ever made. love this song
As a kid I loved this movie so much. I continue to do.
Still my favourite movie to this day

And the air was sweet
And the mountains kissed the sky
In the far beyond, with its many paths
Man and nature lived side by side
But great wisdom does not come without learning
And great vision not only with our eyes
We can think that we see
Truly see you're around us
But when we look
Do we see with open minds?
Great Spirits of all who lived before
Take our hands and lead us
Fill our hearts and souls with all you know
The key to understanding
Is to see through others' eyes
Find a way to help us
See from all sides
Truly see from all sides
Teach our children to look deeper than the surface
See the world through another's eyes
For to be blind beyond yourself
Is to look but not see
And knowing much is not enough to be wise
To see the wonder
In all we've been given
In a world that's not always as it seems
On the path that we choose
Turn every corner
Follow on for another begins
Great Spirits of all who lived before
Take our hands and lead us
Fill our hearts and souls
With all you know
The key to understanding
Is to see through others' eyes
Find a way to help us
See from all sides
Truly see from all sides
