I think the movie's story is about Kenai and Denahi's own respective journeys on the meanings of their totems. Denahi's journey began first when they both lost their brother Sitka, which caused him to mature and began to act like his totem, only going after Kenai when he transformed into a bear as he believed he lost both his brothers, going after him more out of guilt than actual vengeance. Kenai's journey began after he transformed into a bear and durring his time as a bear, he discovered that the bear he killed was Koda's Mother, causing him to realize his horrible mistake and later on in the film, Kenai appreciate the value of life as he chose to remain a bear to look after the Orphaned Koda as the best way to redeem himself.
Koda don’t like this story’s. But Kenai truth is god mothers not coming.

This movie is severely underrated. It has so much emotion into it that I can’t understand why it’s not as popular as the rest. like this was when Disney was gold and it made us laugh and cry and pour out all our emotions.

"Do you really think love has anything to do with being a man?"
As a grown man now, hearing this quote hits different. I don't think any guy without love can even call himself a man.
Which is ironic is that it’s out of pure love for his brother that he want to kill the bear.
@@teencritik5512 I think it's more like anger and sadness. I know he loves his brother but... I think it's called revenge
@@sofiastern1653when you want to avenge someone is because he was precious for you. I m an only child but I m sure that anyone who lost his/her sibling would do anything to take revenge on the person who took him/her away. Kenai truly loves his brothers, it’s even obvious when he was turn into a bear and couldn’t bring himself even in self defence to attack Denahi.
1:15 and 1:24 Denahi is right! Sitka didn’t get killed by the bear, he sacrifice hisself to show his brothers how much he loves them
He was wise at this moment, trying to help Kenai think clearly, but Kenai was too angry and bent on revenge to listen.

(After Sitka's funeral, Kenai approaches the saddened Denahi.)
Kenai: You ready?
Denahi: For what?
Kenai (tossing Denahi a spear): We're going after the bear.
(Denahi hesitantly looks at the spear in his hand)
Denahi: I know what you're feeling...but...but killing that bear is wrong! (tosses the spear to the ground)
Kenai: "Wrong?!" Our brother is dead, and it's because of that monster!
Denahi: I don't blame the bear, Kenai.
Kenai:...I see.
Denahi (attempting to grab the spear out of Kenai's hands): Killing that bear won't make you a man.
Kenai (shoving him away): Oh, NOW you're trying to be wise!
Denahi: I'm trying to follow my totem! WHY CAN'T YOU DO THE SAME?!
Kenai: You really think that love has anything to do with being a man? A man wouldn't just sit here and do nothing!
Denahi: Kenai, don't upset the Spirits.
Kenai: (scoffs) Spirits. Thanks for your wisdom.
(Kenai turns and sees Shamanwoman Tanana who gives him a worried look. Kenai takes his bear totem off his neck, snaps it off and throws it into some extinguished embers and leaves to kill the bear; Tanana quickly fishes the Totem out)
Denahi: I gotta stop him!
This is sad because Joaquin Phoenix, who was the voice of Kenai, lost his brother River before this movie was made. And Kenai lost his brother Sitka.
I’m pretty sure that it was one of the main reason why he was cast. However, recording the first part of the film was very intense for Joaquin as he was constantly thinking about his brother and couldn’t help but crying after every session. It’s pretty funny to think that before Joker, it was Brother Bear who was the most difficult shooting for him.
After River played young Indy then Harrison Ford now grown old in Indiana Jones and the last crusade before he was passed away in 1993.🪦

This is all Kenai's fault
Sitka sacrificed himself trying to get rid of the bear. So that's his fault for making himself die, not the bear. 🐻
All Kenai did was throw a rock. Given he'd found the broken basket that the bear had stolen and now damaged, he was rightfully upset at the bear. After that, the fight started. Simply blaming Kenai across the board isn't really fair nor is it fair to blame any of the brothers.
If anything, the bear is to blame most because she stole the basket of fish the brothers worked all morning to collect together. Denahi spent two weeks making that basket which Kenai willingly went back for when he realized his carelessness did more damage than he'd hoped for. After throwing a couple of rocks, the bear threw him over the cliff. (Which is excessive, especially if you're not planning to eat your target.)
Kenai may have started the battle, but it wouldn't have happened at all if the bear didn't rob them beforehand. Koda says: "Me and mom were eating fish, having a great time!" Implying she wasn't teaching her son how to fish the correct way as a bear and he was so content eating something they didn't work for. Given there was that salmon run later on, they would've had more than enough to eat shortly after.
I know the moral was: "Don't blame the bear." But I really can't blame Kenai or anyone else any more than her. She's equally guilty at best, and far more guilty at worst.
Kenai: Our brother is dead because of that monster
Me: Well the whole incident would never happened if you didn’t provoke the bear in the first place!
It wouldn't have happened either if Denahi didn't tease Kenai and kept provoking him by yelling at him and humiliating him infront of the villagers by saying that he was always messing things up all the time over a stupid basket that can be made again which angered Kenai enough to go after the bear both were at fault
@@estrellaashleywilliams4061 I think I'd have to say that Denahi is the one that _started_ this whole, entire mess!
@@Elysia63 Well,Kenai was the one killing the *Bear*(yes I understand *that* Denahi was the one reminding Kenai about the fish basket, but Kenai didn’t have to go).

Yeah he REALLY thought the bear was responsible for Sitka's death. But it wasn't.
I agree the bear didn’t kill Sitka, he sacrificed his self for his brothers
If only he knew the reason why the bear attacked,it was for a good reason. Sitka chose to sacrifice himself, it wasn't the bears fault. And killing the bear will not bring Sitka back...
Denahi was right
Me think I'm with you and good point you can't get mad/angry or blame the species you shouldn't take the rap like that also hurting is mean you don't wanna be mean too.

Kenai:So you're saying you feel sorry for the Bear
Denahi:No no i don't mean that i mean that Bear may have tried to eat us but killing it won't solve our problems or bring Sitka back
Kenai:I don't care is that stupid Bear's Fault so it's going to pay
Denahi:Kenai you don't know what you're up against
Kenai:Yes i do besides that Bear almost killed you and me so now i'm gonna make it wish it didn't kill our Brother besides it's not like it has feelings
Me: Oh yes it does, Kenai! Animals DO have feelings! 🤦♀️ They have feelings like you _and_ I! And I TRULY believe your brother's 100% right. It's *NOT* the Bear's fault. Sitka committed suicide, but he did it for both you and Denahi. It was a sacrifice for saving the both of you.
Me: And if you really did kill it, then you'd be in TOTAL corruption and you wouldn't have your hand on THAT wall you really want your on! 😡😡😡😡😡
Denahi: “I don’t blame the bear, Kenai. I’m not saying I blame you, either. It’s my fault, as well. If I hadn’t made a big deal about the basket, Sitka would still be alive, & we never would’ve encountered the bear. My point is, Sitka did what he had to. He saw the bear head for us, & knew he had no choice, but to sacrifice himself to save our lives.”
I wonder how kenai would look as human when he is played by Patrick Dempsey
