    You need to maintain a level plane for accuracy. Doing one wheel at a time gives you excessive numbers. But it’s an ok approximation if that’s all you’re after

      Yeah you got it just a rough number to know one side is not overloaded more then the other. Good point! 👍

    Just remember that your tongue weight will actually be a little more than you measured because your tongue is further from your axle than your jack stand where you measured from with your scale

      Just the opposite. The longer the distance from the axle, the greater the moment arm, and the less force it takes to counteract the trailer weight. Sum the moments about the axle.

      So true... it’s been a crazy summer just finished moving last week. We got out for some good camping with the new trailer but I never got around to posting it. Things are calming down in October and I can’t wait to do my favourite camping.... fall and winter. Videos coming soon! Thanks for checking in!

    You square pipe neds to be level your numbers are not correct

      Not sure what your seeing….. maybe it’s the camera. The square pipe is dead level. That’s why you see the 3/4 plywood under the scale to make it level. I’ve since taken it over a scale and my numbers were off by about 110lbs total.
