"I used to try threats but moved onto a promise" iv heard this song a million times but that line finally got me... Outside of Linkin park fans I don't think mike gets enough attention as a catchy as hell lyrical writer.
I have been looking for the track entitled "Part Of Me (Continuation)" since 2006. Today I finally found it by sheer chance! Hurray!
Nice pick, one of the greatest samples i've ever heard.
The track is actually untitled, and just happens to be attached to the end of Part of Me. Mike wanted to do a hidden track type of thing, which is why it's on the end of Part of Me.
@@SofiaFox thanks for your explanation. I knew nothing about this particular track before, so I wasn't able to find it anyhow. But in this particular video, it is surprisingly attached to Part Of Me, indeed. So, once I discovered it here, I was super excited to know it actually exists :)
@@vatkat3574 Of course, the hidden track is only available on the HTEP version of Part of Me as later recording on demo CDs cut the hidden track.
i recall it being called "Ambient" in the old message boards and geocities-style fansites of the internet of the time. and well, p2p filesharing software heh.
indeed, it was only on the original HTEP, the LPU reissue cut it for some reason.

yes, always preferred its beat. the LPU 2.0 version was cool too, perhaps a bit too on the nose with the sample but cool too. it was meant to be in the original hybrid theory album tracklist. would have gone after cure for the itch, but eventually they put it as bonus track in the reissue a few months after, then as a single bside iirc, and then in LPU 2.0 cd. guess it was too "street" for the original tracklist, plus would have meant there was cussing heh.

It's obvious that these guys in the beginning wanted to straight up be like Limp Bizkit, but with a separate Rapper and Singer/Screamer dynamic. Kinda like Avenged Sevenfold, only without cussing.
dude, they have a HUGE difference: LP has lyrics with more quality, LB can have a better guitar, but shitty lyrics (most of them, at least)
Avenged Sevenfold doesn't have the distinct electronics sounds, the singer is more standard screamo than Chester's more flexible range and style, and LP cussed in all their albums except the debut (even some demos have cussing, if anything in latter years they overdid it at times).
They are much better than Limp Bizkits, because Mike is a true rapper.
LP is much better in the demos than the official releases, because Mike have much more vocals.
This is Masterpiece.

when people would make demo tapes and burned CD's back then, for fun people would occasionally add a "secret" track at the end masked by skipping sounds or silence. In this case, the secret track is referred to as "Ambient"
@@bignasty6403 yep. it was very hip to add some noise or silence to mask hidden tracks. deftones used to do it. nirvana did it for their famous endless, nameless finale to nevermind.
iirc nine inch nails did like 90 1-second tracks for their broken ep's hidden tracks, it was a mess for any cd player...

Rock mix doesent have scrathing and DJ, this crap was maded because a some shitly radios doesent want play songs with hip hop influence, and its blame of the label and Dave Gilmore too, they ruined Linkin Park.

yes, Step Up was in once for HTEP, but seems they repeated it later in the compilation because it was either in LPU 2.0 (LPU 1.0 was HTEP reissue) or as extra track in one of the hybrid theory singles. may have also been in the bonus track extended version of hybrid theory (think it came out months after original?), but i cant recall.

My favorite era of them in 2000-2007, after that most of the music is a hit or miss. Like I actually cant stand most of the albums they release now, but I def love their older stuff.
