Think again. This entire incident only highlighted the negligence and incapability of Australian police. The attack shouldn't have started in the first place since the gunman was known to police and should've been arrested earlier. During the raid, a sniper had a clear shot on the gunman which could've ended it instantly, yet he was ordered not to shoot. Then it got to the point where a shootout with the SWAT team ensued, in which one of the hostages was killed by police fire.
Sorry, but that's a gross oversight and mismanagement by Australian police. This incident was their reckoning.

i remember hearing about this when i was around 10 - 11 years old... it was absolutely horrible. i hope victims who were injured and/or traumatised are healing well and are on the road to recovery, and i hope the families and friends of the dead are alright and the grief is getting easier for them to deal with too. we’re very lucky that we live in a country where these kind of attacks are rare.
unfortunately the police teams weren’t as experienced in stuff like this back then, and their communication skills definitely weren’t great, as crucial information didn’t get around to all the teams, to and from the command post etc. fast enough, so some of the deaths and injuries could’ve been prevented if they knew what to do and had a better plan. let’s just hope the training we have nowadays is a lot better, and if this ever happens again, we’ll have skilled and well-trained people around who know what to do.

The shooter was not IDed to the sniper, there were hostages lined up as human shields along the windows, they didn’t know that there wasn’t more gunmen at the time, it was just far too risky of a shot, and failing as a result of any of these factors would have more than likely lead to all of the hostages being killed quickly. Not to mention, the glass on the cafe was bulletproof

Remember seeing this years ago. From the perspective of an US marine, throwing flash bangs right in front of the assault team while they were moving in is just an incompetent action. The assault team literally stopped in the lobby to adjust nvgs before continuing to that cafe, lost a lot of momentum right there. 556 rounds are fine but why fire 22 shots to a single person in confined space full with hostages without clear line of sight? Killing a hostage then wounded other 4 including one of your teammates is just a shxt show. Should have let federal police’s tactical response teams or the military TAG East handle it. Can’t believe the police of such a world class city can’t even handle single gunman. Should send them to LA or Quantico for some apprenticeship with LAPD or FBI.

At the storming period there was only 3 people left inside, 2 ladies and the terrorist and the NSW police commissioner says if they did not enter more lives would have been lost what a crock of total and utter Fuken bs, these are the people who need to be accountable for there actions and words full stop, which is why when the coroner said that drastic changes need to be made in the decision making processes with the TRG command, not the men on the ground, because they follow orders given by those who think they know it all, but in fact they are in a van looking via CCTV footage and TRG cameras inside, so they had plenty of time to give a green light to the sniper teams to shoot him?

That’s wrong, there were 6 still inside. 4 with the gunman (Tori, Katrina, another woman and her mother) in the cafe and two in the back room (two women)

Is it me or was anyone else counting the number of shots fired in the entire video? I got 100-130 shots fired in the entire video... ( that counts to the same footage shown more than once )for some reason when ever I watch a video with shooting in it I always count how many shots are fired In the video..
If I’m wrong about how many shots were fired in the video or I missed any. Feel free to let me know..
