Think again. This entire incident only highlighted the negligence and incapability of Australian police. The attack shouldn't have started in the first place since the gunman was known to police and should've been arrested earlier. During the raid, a sniper had a clear shot on the gunman which could've ended it instantly, yet he was ordered not to shoot. Then it got to the point where a shootout with the SWAT team ensued, in which one of the hostages was killed by police fire. Sorry, but that's a gross oversight and mismanagement by Australian police. This incident was their reckoning.

They had the sniper interviewed last night on 60 mins . He had Monis in his sights for 10 mins but could not take the shot because he didn't have full positive ID. The police did but failed to pass the info on to the sniper.
The shooter was not IDed to the sniper, there were hostages lined up as human shields along the windows, they didn’t know that there wasn’t more gunmen at the time, it was just far too risky of a shot, and failing as a result of any of these factors would have more than likely lead to all of the hostages being killed quickly. if this was a test for our police response... and one gunman killed 2 hostages shot another and shot a police officer in the face, how did they do? well?
It use to be a bank (so bullet proof windows), the gunman made the hostages up against the windows (he also stayed away from the windows). so No they didn't have a clear shot.
At 5:53 recruit went in with shield then he throwed stun grenade, then rest of the team Mumbers also Did same and rushed in killed the Terrorist .ITS ALL GAMES THING.
As far as I'm aware, the commander on the ground continuously wanted to try to negotiate, also read that a sniper had multiple clear shots, but was told to hold fire, so from the information I was able to read, the main reason the siege lasted so long was due to the ground commanders incompetence, primarily because he wanted to negotiate. I also read somewhere that a military veteran actually questioned why the Police used 5.56X45 M4 rifles instead of 9x19 HK MP5s, since the 5.56x45 has a reputation of passing through an unarmed target and ricocheting and breaking apart on solid targets
Is it me or was anyone else counting the number of shots fired in the entire video? I got 100-130 shots fired in the entire video... ( that counts to the same footage shown more than once )for some reason when ever I watch a video with shooting in it I always count how many shots are fired In the video.. If I’m wrong about how many shots were fired in the video or I missed any. Feel free to let me know..

police sniper had a clear shot of him and he was told not to take it
Yup so stupid
It use to be a bank (so bullet proof windows), the gunman made the hostages up against the windows (he also stayed away from the windows). so No they didn't have a clear shot.
They didn't know how many gunmen were there and didnt want collateral damage
It's Real Life Rainbow Six Siege,Hostage Gameplay.
At 5:53 recruit went in with shield then he throwed stun grenade, then rest of the team Mumbers also Did same and rushed in killed the Terrorist .ITS ALL GAMES THING.
sunny samyog Stop comparing real life traumatic events to a video game, fool.
I thought guns in Australia are banned. How did this happen?
CursedChad They aren’t banned. They are difficult to obtain. I assume the terrorist bought it off the black market.
Can someone explain to me why police only stormed in after Tori was killed?
As far as I'm aware, the commander on the ground continuously wanted to try to negotiate, also read that a sniper had multiple clear shots, but was told to hold fire, so from the information I was able to read, the main reason the siege lasted so long was due to the ground commanders incompetence, primarily because he wanted to negotiate. I also read somewhere that a military veteran actually questioned why the Police used 5.56X45 M4 rifles instead of 9x19 HK MP5s, since the 5.56x45 has a reputation of passing through an unarmed target and ricocheting and breaking apart on solid targets
I don't mean to criticize the police, but I think in these situations they have to go in quicker, simply waiting 14hrs to make a move is too long.
oh no they don't want the police to die?? WTF?@@?@?!!
@Mr Webgeneral Pretty sure his sleep deprivation is what made him kill the Cafe Manager.
They were spamming flash grenades.
Should of called in the commandos

Is it me or was anyone else counting the number of shots fired in the entire video? I got 100-130 shots fired in the entire video... ( that counts to the same footage shown more than once )for some reason when ever I watch a video with shooting in it I always count how many shots are fired In the video..
If I’m wrong about how many shots were fired in the video or I missed any. Feel free to let me know..
Most of those "shots" are probz flashbangs going off
They want to deploy
a juggernaut unit .. dang
This would have gone down differently in the US, where people are able to defend themselves
3:08pm 5:12 pm the difference is choice
Sniper had one job. To take the shot. He failed.
they believed the man had a bomb in his backpack

Did they know there was 1 gunman that time?
Yes but because of how serious the issue was they needed many armed police in case something unexpected happened
