How do you prevent making it look like a line of makeup on your neck with normal skin color beneath? Do you just make sure to blend it in real well so there is no noticible transition line?

I fully understand you. Actually I don't have to loose any weight, I am slim through my entire life but I have low thyroid... what obviously makes my chin double-looking....contouring is the only way for me to prevent looking like 20 lbs more :/
Setting the cream contour with another contour colour made it look muddy, maybe try setting it with translucent powder first it will make such a difference
