      I’m also in SA and have been struggling with yellowing grass. I’ve done everything to get it green but nothing seems to work.
      I’ve done grub control, iron, and even sulfur with no luck. I even diagnosed my grass and it has high amounts of alkaline.
      It looks to be growing but with a lime green/yellow look.
      I have noticed a bit of dark tiny spots on some of the blades. I plan on treating the grass with some type of fungicide soon, maybe even pete moss.
      Please let me know what else I need to do?
      Thanks.

      @@thesecretgarden6948 Hey man, I'm trying to get my lawn to look like this... I have that yellow/whiting happening in my front yard and it seems like its spreading. I was going to do the same as you - add some more sandy loam to the damaged areas, then what? Should I do EXACTLY as you did? I feel inclined to since the proof is in the video! lol.

      @@thesecretgarden6948 most of the grey leaf is gone just a tiny small section in a corner but the yellow or lime green is still there but I’m going to apply milorganite and ironite also. I’ll go ironite first then milorganite, how long after the ironite should I wait to apply milorganite ?

      That fungicide in the blue can works really well

    Thanks. I have almost the same problem with our St. Augustine...thinking it may be root density primarily due to two mature live oaks less than 15 feet apart. Also my simplistic fertilizing with the blue miracle grow packets in the end-hose sprayer probably didn't do much to help.

    I had that problem with my lawn in Victoria, Texas and treated it with a liquid chelated iron and it has been good for the past five years. Has to be liquid chelated iron to work.

    I live in Laredo (similar weather but a little hotter)
    Question .. I know you use the liquid rather than the granules… is there a major difference? I have the same problem right now cause of all the rain … I see a lot of yellow … I don’t know if I should put the fungicide AND ironite together or should I do it apart ?

    • @thesecretgarden6948
      @thesecretgarden6948  3 роки тому +1

      I did it apart b/c I do not like doing to many things to the lawn at the same time. The liquid Ironite applies more right away for a quick shot of Iron and the granules will last longer and slowly release it over time.

    I'm having the same issues with the bald patches and have used fungicide on it as well. For some reason the grass doesn't want to grow over those patches and is becoming more balled 😢

    Im in SATX as well!! I have a question. My st agustine has a been showing round black spots on the blades. Would you happen to know what it is? I can provide pics. Thanks for your videos

    • @thesecretgarden6948
      @thesecretgarden6948  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, that is gray leaf spot. All you need to use is a fungicide and it will kill it. You should buy bio advanced fungus control for lawns in a blue bottle. One of my other subscribers had the same issue and it has almost completely fixed his. Depending on how bad it is you will need to do potentially two applications but start with one and then wait two weeks. There are other fungicides that work but not all fungicides actually kill the fungus, some prevent. You need to ensure you get one that kills the fungus and that one does. If you cannot find it then let me know and I can email you a picture of it or a link.

      I used bio advance and disease x week apart. Cured the leaf spot but left my grass yellow. I wasn’t sure what it was at first so I sprayed turf builder and helped the fungus grow. I researched and researched but got rid of the fungus with both products.

    We also have st Augustine. It’s hot and windy here and the grass keeps dying in giant patches. Its also dying in high traffic areas. Help! How do I take care of it?

    • @thesecretgarden6948
      @thesecretgarden6948  3 роки тому

      So St Augustine will die in high traffic areas, it is a sensitive grass and doesn't like to be constantly walked on. The only thing you can do is try not to walk on it as much, or put paving stones or something in a line (walkway) so that people walk on those stones and not the grass (obviously that will kill the grass underneath but it will look prettier than dead grass. In regard to your dying grass, my first thing is to think you are not watering enough. Can you provide more info on what it looks like when it is dying? Is it turning brown or any other color? Are the grass blades folding and looking smaller or staying bigger? Any brown spots on the grass or yellowing? Let me know so I can help you more.

    Hello, I have the yellowing issue right now. I'm in south TX, is it to Hot to apply this product?

    • @thesecretgarden6948
      @thesecretgarden6948  3 роки тому

      I showed a few different products so I am not sure which one you were asking about but I did them all on cloudy days where it was a bit cooler. You don’t want to put anything on your grass when it is going to be 90° or hotter, if all possible
