Description from Planet Sinclair: This is the theme of the new game from the friendly father and son duo who make up the Sloanysoft team, who, as is their slogan, just make games for fun. And fun they are, without a doubt.
As is public knowledge, 2024 was the year that Steamboat Willie entered the public domain. It was one of the first animations with music and an authentic soundtrack (OST), also bringing us the hero Mickey Mouse (or Mickey Mouse, as you prefer).
But 2024 is also the fortieth anniversary of the classic Jet Set Willy, one of Matthew Smith's masterpieces (the other is Manic Miner). And to celebrate this milestone, Sloanysoft paid a small tribute to these two classics, bringing us Jet Set Steamboat Willie.
As you can see in the image above, the screen is very familiar, isn't it? Well, it's no more, no less, than the recreation of the first screen of Jet Set Willy, and you can also see Mickey and Minnie, not missing the hilarious toilets. Furthermore, in black and white, just like the 1928 film, Steamboat Willie.
For the rest, we have the typical platformer , which Dave and Nate know how to do so well. Unpretentious, it offers us instant fun, always with well-imagined scenarios encouraging us to reach a little further and see what surprises the duo has in store for us. Furthermore, Lee Bee's music once again brings to mind Jet Set Willy, but with a 1920s atmosphere.
It will be game to watch over the next week, once the Synergy 2024 event has passed and we are a little more relieved. In the meantime, you can download the game.
