My 1st thought when I saw this collection was ewww but the more I look at them the more I kinda like them. The brownish, blue & green I feel I would wear in spring. Not a home run but considering their yearly theme was 95% awesome, I’ll forgive them. Orly still did way better than most mainstream brands.
I had the exact same thoughts when I received mine. I'd never buy it given the choice but getting it in the color pass, I was inclined to play with it immediately and it really grew on me.
I was really getting tired of the Color Pass curations over the past few years. The variations were too close in color families. The past year has been a definite improvement, even if I really wouldn't have qualified the Futurism collection as "winter" in nature. That being said, I love metallics, foil type especially, and although I wouldn't have bought these if I weren't the Color Pass member that I am, I'll use these to layer under my heavier foils, holos, and toppers for coordinating, artistry, and extending their lives! 💕

I had history of art as my end of school ( i believe its like SAT in USA) and i was only one who choose it,lol. When i think futurism i have the memory of painting called "dynamism of a dog on a leash" and how one day i could talk half of the lesson with my teacher about this painting, and on the next lesson, which was math, i was vocaly expressing my not understanding where the hell from is "x" in the calculation and everybody was like, " WTF, you saw a dog in that mess one hour ago, and now you dont know how we get "x"xD
Thanks for swatching…I’m on the fence on these. I really can’t decide if I want any of them. I usually have an immediate strong opinion on polishes, but this collection is stumping me a bit. Totally off topic.. I wish someone (in the camp of polish UA-camrs) would do an in depth video of best practices for destashing AND purchasing used polishes. I’d like to destash some myself as well as get into buying destash polishes, but I find the whole process intimidating, frankly. I belong to some of the Facebook destash groups and haven’t bought a single thing because It seems like someone is always getting ripped off or is disappointed in some way. I realize that is life and it happens, but I’d feel better if someone would just give some best practices/advice, lol. You know, someone who is wiser with a little practice? Maybe I’m just a wimp, I dunno…
This isn't my most favorite collection, it has nothing to do with Christmas, I was looking forward to some Holiday colors but I guess not. Love your channel as always your an awesome person Hillary keep up the great work
The color you like the least matches your eye makeup though! I got the box too and although it's my least favorite of the year, these polishes grew on me when I started to play with them. I want to do a sponged gradient with them
I'm ok with this collection, I like most of the colors and was happy they weren't creams. I like the extras, I've been using the reusable bags for decades now and happy to have one more. This is the 8th color pass box I've gotten, on the fence if I will sign up for the next year. I will wait to see what the spring collection looks like before I decide. I've not used these yet since I'm in the process of moving and these came when I was packing my polishes, but I am looking forward to trying them out. These are super 7th grade 1981 vibes , reminding me of the first really awesome non pink and red polishes that were very new wave. Super nostalgia. Not a fan of futurism especially the association with communism , but it was powerful imagery. Love Orly for taking on art movements that encourge people to google it. Bravo. Could do without the tote . Love these colors.
I just recently learned about ColorPass and just haven't had the chance to subscribe yet. I would loooooooooooooooove a video on the subject! Or like a history of pass boxes! I am also looking into other boxes as well, because I just like surprises and my collection is still relatively small. I am still learning on what I do and don't like and it's hard when it turns out that you pretty much like everything.

So until I start seeing collections where I say, i just have to have all of them, I dont think i'll get the color pass. I agree the marketing was odd. I thought these were going to be a sort of fluid art formula and I was excited for that, but that’s definitely not the case. I thought the same about the hair clip at first but then I started to use it everyday and was sad when it finally broke not long ago and I ordered a similar replacement off Amazon 😂
Back in Dec with a follow-up comment. Hillary, I know you are into Ephemeral lately…put a coat of it on top of, say, Urban Landscape. Instant festive vibe. I’m having a major OMG moment sitting here looking at 10 happy nails lol.
These definitely remind me of the polishes I wore late 90s/early 2000s including an old Orly called Pewter Metallic. 😂 This collection didn’t really appeal to me but seeing them swatched I like them more but probably not enough to buy any of them. 😅

I'm not gonna buy any of them (though I kinda dig the green one), but I like that they fully committed to the art theme up until the last collection of the year.
Nah - not for me, this one. I do not gravitate towards pearly or metallic finishes so having a whole set of them is a hard pass for me. I will probably wear a couple since I have them but would not purchase on their own. This is my second full year of Color pass and both winter collections have really been a let down for me. Not sure i will subscribe for a 3rd year but I do like Orly polishes in general and the collections I do like are really fun. I haven't subscribed to the Color Pass but see the attraction, I think this icy palette is good for winter Some other brands are featuring these frosty finishes - Essie has a similar green and the OPI Holiday collection too so it seems on trend
I like the polishes, BUT…not a holiday/winter collection to me. I saw the colors and thought “foil covered chocolate Easter eggs,” I feel like Orly just really got themselves trapped in their whole art movement theme for the year. I partly can’t get into even thinking of this as a holiday/winter collection because the whole idea of futurism and industrialism is…we…a big turnoff. I’ve felt I got my money’s worth from Color Pass this year, but I decided not to renew. That is mostly because I have a collection now of about 200 polishes and I just don’t want more than that. Of course, I can destash as I go, but I’ll be more selective with what I fill in with. I liked some of the breathable collections way better than Color Pass this year, and I liked some of the ILNP collections more than any of the Orly collections.
As for the collection, I am on the fence, but I don't mind it. I haven't been drawn to metallics since I was a kid, but I think these would be great for winter and into spring. I think they will be great to layer and maybe to be used in nail art? I'm planning on joining ColorPass and I wouldn't mind getting this collection even though I'm not excited for it. I bet I might feel a way when I have them on my nails because that's how I've been falling in love with new colors and finishes lately.
I do like it, but I think they're too similar to each other. I prefer when there's more variety. Different finishes, colors that are different in tone and saturation, etc. These just seem like they made one big vat of nail polish and then changed the pigment a little bit for each shade. Kind of underwhelming. But I would maybe pick up one or two.

Spring/Summer/Fall were all great and here we are with another winter collection of all shimmers and I DON'T LIKE IT! ☹☹☹ I do love my shopping bag and I like the cuticle oil!

These colors are just too much on the cool side for my skin tone, and I have more neutral dupes for the ones I'd want, like the blue or green. It's actually an interesting color story and fits the art theme well, I just think the audience for this type of finish is more niche and limited.
