True. When I first got into Warframe, someone dropped me into relics runs only and I lost interest in a week. I can back a couple months later and took it at my own pace and I’ve been obsessed since. I have even taught my LR4 friend a few new things. We play and trade things the other hasn’t been able to grind out.

Warframe is not for everyone. It does ask for your time, much like a standard MMO. I have decided that Warframe is worth my time; not everyone is comfortable with making that choice, and that's okay. I feel that Warframe rewards me for the time I spend playing it, but everyone's experience is different. Warframe is -- a slow burn, I think is a good phrase. Jade Shadows is steeped in lore, lore that only reveals itself through nearly TWENTY QUESTS before it; that can be intimidating for some. And, I think that's why the Warframe community at large is so supportive of baby Tenno like yourself. We get it; it can be a slog. Some of us didn't have someone to guide us along the way because we got in at the ground floor, or just a couple floors up, so we want to be that guide for someone who's as confuzzled as we were, because we love the game. We appreciate the time Warframe takes to tell us its story, and we hope we can share that love with others.

As a "veteran player" myself (I have about 1000 hours give or take) I can assure you, we love new players. We love them so much that we get puppy excited... like it's actually wild how much this community loves new players. To that point, I personally have had to train myself to not info-dump on new players. The habit stems from the lack of guidance within the game itself when I started (I think it has gotten better but I have not made a new account to verify). As a result, I would tell new players everything I had to look up or find out for myself. Now I am much better about waiting for questions, and just being helpful when I can. The game does the rest :)

Exactly what I always say, to everyone who starts the game.
Play how ever you like, have fun, and do not get intimidated by players who overwhelm you with builds and "how to"

Let me just say this. Big damage gets boring when you one-shot everything. The most fun I have as a player that CAN get millions of damage... is when I'm Dakka-maxxing with something like a Soma or Twin Grakatas.

My friend got me into Warframe in 2016 since his other friends were not playing, and I can tell you I was so confused at the beginning. All the little achievements along the way were milestones that I felt good about... first pet, new other pets, first new warframe/weapon, first prime warframe/weapon, intial quests to the larger ones, learning the story and lore, the complexity of everything that takes place is amazing. Take your time, have patience, take a break when you need to and come back when you are ready, and most importantly just have fun. I got to MR30 last fall and it felt fantastic to get to this achievement, but it was not the end, as I now can gift others blessings in the relays to help others, giving back to the community. One of the things my friend and I do is create meme builds to try out and it is super fun just creating unintended chaos. I take breaks from the game but it is like a favourite shirt, it is soooo comfy coming back whenever you want and being able to just play.

We love baby tenno. Yes sometimes we get the fishing rods and start yelling FRESH MEAT FRESH MEAT like some demented people but we mean no harm.

TBH that’s what I did, so much info that it almost shut me down, now I’m MR 10 and enjoying it just playing it like a single player game and jumping in to multi only when required.

I do not think people quit Warframe. I think they are just burnt up after playing for so long. Another reason is people reached the dry seasons of Warframe when there lack of new contents in the game. I know i did left Warframe abit, only to come back playing it again after a few months when i know there will be new contents to keep me going awhile. With the new updates coming soon this winter, pretty sure Warframe gonna have a surge of players playing it again.

Quick message for new players. I see a lot of comments about players quitting. I will put out an ACTUAL video soon directed towards NEW tennos. Why do new players try warframe for a bit and end up quitting? Let me know your thoughts.

Why do people quit? Burnout is the number 1 reason. Becoming jaded and giving into the "hivemind" of complainers is probably the 2nd reason.
Warframe isn't perfect, but some people expect it to be instead of enjoying it for what it is. And everyone is going to have different expectations and preferences, that's the true meaning of diversity, and Warframe is very diverse in every sense of the word.
To be 100% honest... I've been playing Warframe since 2015. Almost 10 years. And I have "quit" at least 10 times. But I always knew I would come back everytime.
Why? Because EVERY game I played I compared to Warframe and in doing so EVERY game fell short. So I always knew that Warframe was something special, even when I wasn't actively playing Warframe.

I can't speak to other new players, but for me, i bounced off the game twice before i finally "got it" when i tried it for the third time. It was mostly the initial complexity which is the proverbial brick wall. There is just so much to learn and it hits you almost instantly that you exit the tutorial. go here, get that, install into your orbiter and then after you've done all the "easy" hand-holding bits, you've got four new systems to look at and almost nothing in the way of instruction. The Foundry, the Arsenal, the entire Mod system, what feels like three dozen different damage types that you're supposed to pay attention to and what is weak to what and what weapon does which type of damage... phew. It's too much all at once man.
On my third attempt, I wasn't scared of it anymore and I knew just enough from my previous attempts that I at least had handle on where to start and it finally clicked. But man, that initial "what the hell ARE all these screens trying to tell me?" is hard to get over.

From my experience bringing people into Warframe, many of them quit because the game is "unfair" early on, they grind 4-5 frames, have 8 weapons and no slots.
It is also my biggest complaint STILL, 8 years into my Warframe journey new players need to get at a minimum 3 Warframe slots and at least 8 weapon slots ( since they are shared between primary, secondary and melee. )
DE makes money off slots, I get it, but I have watched more than a half dozen of my IRL friends and family members give up the game because they don't want to spend REAL money on inventory slots when they are just starting out and excited to try a new frame they just grinded for. It's literally become such an issue that I had to coax my brother back by buying him plat to get slots. It SHOULD NOT BE THIS WAY.
