    Doesn't fix the issue for everyone. Keeps coming back for a lot of us.

    Thank you for posting this. I have been following that thread and did not know what to believe. The wife and I each have a manual (11/21 and 7/22 build dates) and both make the noise. Your information was helpful as always. Thanks for that and the other good info you put out!

    Thank you for summarizing that long forum thread and all the detailed explanation. My 2-door manual build was early 2023 and I haven't heard anything but I don't drive mine enough plus weather here in TX will hardly get that cold deep into winter so I'll have to monitor it very closely when that time comes. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video. I have a grinder as well. I've been waiting for the updated sycro parts numbers to be released before I brought up the issue with my dealer.

    Great video, thanks for sharing your story. I have a 2023 Badlands 2 Door, manual. Fingers crossed they solved this issue.

    Thank you for posting an update on the MT88 issues. I watched your other video on the manual transmission buyer's guide, which was also informative even though I already had my Bronco. I wish your video had been available when I first started looking at Broncos, though I ended up with what I think is one of the best configurations out there: 2-door badlands w/o sasquatch w/ lux. I apologize for the long format post, I know UA-cam comments aren't the greatest place for this.
    My Bronco was made in August 2022 like yours. I have the original "-AA" transmission. I have the grinding noise, and the 1-2 shift is almost always crunchy/difficult. At first I thought the clutch pedal might not be properly adjusted but shifting through 4, 5, and 6 is buttery smooth. I'd like to have my transmission looked at but I don't have a relationship with a Ford dealership near me. (I bought my car across the country and have been doing my own oil changes.) I'm a bit nervous about the TSB too. While the TSB may fix the grinding noise, I'm not sure it'll fix my crunchy 1-2 shift. I'm also not sure I want a potentially inexperienced tech rebuilding the transmission on what's basically a brand new truck still. I don't think it's fair to have a rebuilt transmission on a new vehicle. Additionally, while the TSB covers the 5th and 6th gear syncros for noise, those gears are my smoothest shifting gears and I'd worry that they'd shift worse after the rebuild. I'd be OK with a whole new transmission assembly, but I'm not sure how to approach this. Thanks!

    Thanks for this. This helps me know for sure mine is not making that noise. My blend date was 3/20/22.

    Thank you sir for going through this issue thoroughly. Let’s hope Ford fixed the issues for the 24. I ordered a big bend (base for 24) 4dr black manual with only Aux switches and hardtop. Got a call saying the Bronco is being scheduled to be built beginning of the new year. Really looking forward to it!
    Also, I am a former CT resident now in California! Hint. Our high schools soccer programs were rivals! Looking forward to the future updates, thank you! 🙏

    My bronco was made about the same time, got it in October, had thh transmission go out while driving on the highway (mostly 5th and 6th gear), just 8 days later. At that time, I had to wait 3 months for repair due to supply chain shortage.This was in SoCal, so mid-October isn't terribly cold

    My Bronco did the same thing after having it for six months. I purchased mine in March 2022 then in Sept. it slowly started making the rattle. Dealer couldn't find anything in October when I first took it, then In January when it was stupid loud on initial startup took it back to to the dealer and they found the TSB. It took until May to get the parts, they let me continue driving the Bronco in the meantime and then three weeks to get the transmission fixed, because they had to order a "transmission sealing tool" specifically for the MT-88. I got my Bronco back mid June, no problems so far I guess I'm just waiting to see what happens when it gets cold again!

    Howdy Ragnar! Appreciate your vids, very informative for sure. Ordered me up a '24 Badlands with a manual, I'm hoping this is resolved going forward. Hmm, most likely why they stopped taking 7 speed orders recently for the '23s. Anyway, can't wait to receive my 2024 Bronco in 2026! Woohoo! 😢

    This is SO INEXCUSABLE in this day and age. My 2002 Focus ZX3 207K miles, just now did full clutch/flywheel, master, etc. However, shifts perfectly.

    Yep, I took mine into the dealer in March and finally getting it taken care of on Wednesday. I may try to get the tailgate rattle. Adn I'm in Florida and you can still hear it no problem hearing it. Even when it starts out at 80 degrees I can still hear the noise, it doesn't have to be cold. I didn't need to listen to your video, since mine makes the same exact noise. In March they confirmed the issue as well, but had to get parts in, my dealer I guess forgot about me, I complained about it on a thread recently and several people mentioned the parts ahd been in and my dealer forgot about me...sure enough, I checked with my dealer after than and boom, true story, they did forget, but finally have me scheduled. I'm a big Ford guy, but Ford really needs to get their quality issue with the Bronco (and others) under control. Our Flex and F-150 are near flawless, but the Bronco has had some issues. I agree with you though, I've had lots of fun with it in the last year and I love the manual, I wouldn't have got the Bronco if it had not had the manual. I'm hoping my Bronco will be fixed right by next week.

    My bronco 23 badlands has been in the shop for 3 weeks. I am nervious that the" fix", is doing more damage to my transmision. It was supose to be done on monday of this week (it is now thursday) but I guess when they slapped everything back together the bronco wouldn't shift into reverse. I am hoping to get my broncoback soon... but hindsight - I should have waited a while to get the fix.

    I just picked up a 2023 Badlands and had this issue. I took it to the dealer and referenced the TSB. They told me they didn't see an issue and that it's normal for the transmission to make that grinding/rattling sound. I feel like the dealer for whatever reason is blowing me off. As if they don't want to work on it.

    Stellantis has the common sense to use ZF transmissions. I have to give them that.

    Lucky you. I just got my Bronco worked on and I got the syncro rings replaced. Now it doesn’t want to stay in 5 & 6th gear. The shift engagement on those gears is very loose. This is not better, I would rather have the noise. It’s going back to the dealer in a few weeks. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Yes, the Focus has a clutch/trans. that will LAST. My 2002 is perfect. Parts on mine were not from China. My 2002 Focus components sourced from Spain/Poland, Germany, etc.

      Also forgot to mention. 2nd gear shift for me have been... odd at times. Either hard to get it fully into gear or seemingly trues to pop out when it felt like it was fully in gear.

      @@i_bridd.psd_3731 That's how it was for me too with the original transmission.
      The new transmission is a lot better, but I guess only time will tell if it actually improved it.

    Has your region had enough colder temperatures this fall to notice if the new (part number) transmission has fixed the grinding sounds?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  8 місяців тому

      We’ve had about a week and a half of much cooler temperatures (into the 40° and 50°F), but that’s about it.
      No noise so far. But also hasn’t been below freezing yet.

  • @karriepridemore

    How did you convince the dealership to install a new transmission rather than just waiting for parts? I’ve been waiting for parts for a year.

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  6 місяців тому +1

      Generally speaking it's not up to the dealer... it's up to Ford. I waited _almost_ 10 months for a new transmission, so there is a long wait associated regardless.
      If you haven't heard anything in awhile you may want to contact your dealer to see if they can push it a little bit on their end. But there is no particular rush on getting it fixed. And the long wait may actually be in your benefit, gives time for Ford/Magna to implement additional fixes.

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  3 місяці тому

      So far so good. Made it through winter.
      There was a couple of occasions on really cold mornings when I thought I heard the noise, but I could just be in my head. Hard to say for sure, but either way… it’s much quieter than it was before.

    Ford 60k new vehicle, you need a new 2.7 AND Ford, you need a new 7-speed! This says to me even IF they "fix" it, it won't last.
