This is the first instance of someone saying they'd chose the standard package (no sensors) over the 360 cameras on the High package - and I'm glad to hear it. I have a 4 door Badlands 7MT with standard package on the way. I really wanted the cameras but couldn't bring myself to accept the climate controls, sensors, and nannies that accompany the option, and I don't live in snow so the heated seat/steering wheel are also unnecessary features. I completely echo your sentiments in closing regarding reasons for wanting a manual transmission. I would add that I had the opportunity to drive a 10AT Badlands Sasquatch at Nevada Off-Roadeo and while it's a great transmission and works well off-road - nothing can compare to controlling when you shift versus inappropriate gear shifts at the wrong time leading to a bit of lurching. I also managed to take a 7MT Badlands off-road in Hollister Hills SVRA in California and was thoroughly impressed with the clutch, shifting, and that crawler gear is fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. And I don't think I've seen a black vehicle look as good as this 2 door!

@@NorthShoreBronco haha my Raptor is never clean, doubt the Bronco will be any different. Only thing in my stable that stays clean is the GT500 … for about 5 seconds after a wash … it’s black.
I've driven standards for years, my MINIs were great. My 2D Bronco Badlands Sasquatch is fantastic, having a standard was a non-negotiable and I'm happy I insisted. The only drawback is no remote start. (Without considerable aftermarket expense) Turning the seat heater on for a few minutes while it's warming up, does help.
Row your own transmission all the way!!! How ever I am staying with my decision for the cameras, and sensors, since I plan on off-roading mine in some very sketchy rocky trails. Love your videos by the way. Unfortunately because I got kicked to model year 2022, I had to go to the Velocity Blue instead of the Antimatter like yours, but getting everything else I wanted.
I have a manual Sasquatch and I just love it and I love your videos. Did you reprogram your speedo when you went to taller tires? Also, I think 4L turns off auto start/stop, so that's probably why it won't start back up when you put the clutch back in. Which brings me to my favorite thing, the auto start/stop doesn't turn off the engine for me because I always keep the clutch in at traffic lights, hence it never shuts off. People will say that's bad and you should always put it in N and take your foot off the clutch, but nope, not doing that.
Yes! manual is the way to go! Thanks for watching, appreciate it! I didn't reprogram my speedo. From 33's to 35's wasn't that big of a difference. If I ever go to 37's I will figure out how to reprogram.
I originally wanted the 7MT, but would preclude my wife from ever dropping me off or picking me up. Also heard some reports on the forums that the 2.3L throttle mapping is different and slightly sportier on the 10spd auto.
Hmmmmm. I wonder how much the throttle mapping is different if you have a manual. Like would you step on the gas and it would control how fast you can accelerate? Interesting. But for me, I didn't buy this Bronco for speed or acceleration. As long as I can pass on the highway safely, I'm good.
How bumpy is the ride? Do you find that it rocks the pitch back and forth a lot (rocking the vehicle up and down from front to back and vice versa) when you go over bumps?
I think it depends on the trim. We have a Black diamond and a badlands. I find the badlands feels smoother but does rock a bit more. the Black diamond is stiffer and feels rougher.
Very informative Thank you. Going tomorrow to order my 4dr black diamond with the 7MT. Those sensors loom like they woukd be really annoying in the winter...
@@NorthShoreBronco can you turn them off permanently or just every time you turn the truck on ? Love NB I go every year for work. Stay in Saint John but I see so many dirt roads and trails snaking off the highway it always makes me wonder
Great content on the MAN trans! I have a 2DR Base Sas, 7MT with a production date of 7 March coming. Couple questions, I've heard there is a hill hold feature that prevents rolling backwards (by applying brakes) with manual trans. Is this true? Only in certain modes? The way it was explained to me was clutch in, vehicle will not roll back. Also, the auto start - does it do that every time you come to a stop or only when you stall? I like that feature of clutch in restart, didn't know about that. I think that feature would be really handy off-road when tackling something particularly difficult (where you are repeatedly stalling). Too bad it's disabled in 4LO. Hope all that made sense!
Easy to program in (or out) of Hill Assist in the stock settings. Very simple wiring kit on line to reset auto start (either constant on or off) 99 bucks. (ManSquatch wasn't available for my purchase in 2021 darn it!)
@@slypopsracing Thanks! Does Hill Assist prevent rolling backwards? I'm a day one reservation holder and waited until 22 for just that reason...ManSquatch!
You are going to love your Bronco!!! The auto start stop only comes on when you are at a full stop in neutral and not touching the clutch. I don't know why people hate it so much, it saves on fuel. And as soon as you start pushing in the clutch it starts up again.
Nice video, I'm curious as to how it feels compared the my Gladiator's manual transmission. I do wish mine had the crawler gear, would have made things very convenient. Also in case I missed it, how's the Clutch feel? The clutch on the Gladiator is very vague and I'm not a fan, an upgraded clutch is probably the next upgrade I have planned.
Hmmm, I haven't driven a gladiator, but the clutch is way better than my 2006 wrangler I had.... but that's not a fair comparison. Clutch feels very precise. I love it!
I have a JK 6 spd and a Bronco 7 spd. I love them both but if I jump out of one into the next I look like a rookie jerking heads!lol. Keeping both, I love the little Jeep 2 dr too much to sell it, but it's very rudimentary compared to Bronco. Love the manuals!!
Great video! I'm currently shopping for either a 2 door black diamond or a jeep Rubicon (manual transmission). How is the bronco so far and I'm just a little leary about a 4 cylinder because I want to do the exact setup as yours(35" tires).
I love my bronco! I've had jeeps with the pentastar V6 and this 4 cylinder turbo is way stronger. No issues running 35's. I'm actually thinking of going up to 37's and I'm not worried about it.
Loved the video and loved your Bronco! I have a Badlands Sasquatch 4 door manual on order and your video made me more anxious for it to be delivered. I like your painted D rings. Did you get those locally or did you order them from somewhere?
Oh your going to love it!!!!!!! I took some black rugged ridge shackles (link in description) then I got an automotive shop to color match the badlands orange and painted them. I'll make a video on it soon. I'll call and ask them what paint code they used.
I'm pretty sure there's a social experiment or a psychologist somewhere that can explain why certain personalities like certain things. I love the Mandalorian series Boba Fett was my favorite Star Wars character. I love dogs and I loved Broncos from the day my grandfather came home with one.( I like Jabba the Hutt and Salacious there's something about a fat slop snail and a cackling creature I think it's hilarious.) Bro thanks for the review. Hopefully the dealership purchase orders open up on Thursday for something other than a Raptor, there's no way I'm paying $20k over MSRP.
Great content! Been going through a lot of your videos and thoroughly enjoying! I was curious if ice and snow build up were a significant impact on things like opening the door with ice on the fender flairs, ice preventing the window from going up or down when the door opens, and if ice would somehow mess with the MIC hardtop. Just a couple of things that would be good to know for winters in the Great White North. Keep up the great content!
Thank you! I was also worried about the windows freezing. But it hasn't been a problem. No more than a regular vehicle. If anything, I think the windows moving up and down a little everytime you open the door helps them not freeze haha. 0 issues with hard top or doors not opening. Ice builds up on the fender flairs but it's no different than a truck with side steps. Just gotta knock it off when it gets too big.
I missed some small parts of the video so I might have missed it but have you tried the "Crank in Gear" function that ford has listed for the manual trans?
You know what, that's really the only think I haven' t had the chance to try. I need to read up on it more and then maybe I'll make a video just on that. I'm new to offroading, so I didn't want to talk abut something I didn't really know about.
@@NorthShoreBronco no worries. I havent done much research on it myself. I've just been trying to find a UA-cam video about it but. No one has yet to post one.
Question for you, is the manual stick shift really the mechanical one connected directly to the transmission or is it just electronic shift that looks like a stick? My TJ jeep does have that real mechanical shifting but when I sat in a manual bronco at the dealer, it shifted without pushing down the clutch, so I suspect it could be a fake manual stick shift
Thanks for a great video. Waiting on my non squatch base. Been going back and forth on keeping the steelies on 33s but this looks so good im gonna go 35 17s. Question on the offset. If i wanted to go +20ish (with 1" lift) on the offset would those tires you have rub you think?
Anti-Murder Potion indeed, hahaha. I thought it seemed like you cut it close, and I thought he did speed up. Way to keep it together. I would have been steaming! Another note: Cruise Control usually disengages when you change gears, but not in the manual Bronco. Another sweet feature. Bathurst Tim's at the Highway?
Oh I was steaming! He was driving 95 the whole time I was behind him, then sped up the whole time I was passing him. But, once the turbos kick in you get lots of juice out of that 2.3. The tims i went to was the one on St.Peters Street, in front of Canadian Tire. And thanks for the extra pointer on the cruise control!
ummmm.... I don't want to talk about it....... : ( But seriously, I don't really pay attention because i mostly drive in the woods and small secondary roads. It wouldn't give you a realistic number. If you're going to lift these puppies up and throw on big mud terrains you need to not care about mpg... My 2 cents.
Great video. If I lived in an environment like yours (and similar to where I grew up) I think I would favor the manual. I've had a couple over the past 20 years but too much traffic, stop signs and traffic lights where I currently reside. I would get it because I agree - it's more fun, like to control my RPMs, and the crawler looks great in 4L. For me & where I live/commute, the automatic is the preference. Hill descent control, trail turn assist and constant stopping will be the benefits of the auto - when I finally do take delivery of my 2dr, Velocity Blue, Badlands w/V6 & Auto. Lots of 4 door videos out there so appreciate your 2dr content. I know it's winter right now but do you know how much more the doors on the 2dr weigh compared to the front doors on the 4dr? Tks - Seahund
Hmm, not sure the difference in weight. The two door doors are not heavy tho. So ... I do have a video of me taking them off and one of me putting them on. The 10 speed automatic is a great transmission and you will love it!
I'm not the right person to ask that. My commute to work is 5 minuets with multiple stops and my bronco spends it's time in the woods. My Mileage is horrible..... But that's my fault. Sorry I couldn't help.
@@NorthShoreBroncothis is such a valid point. I’m getting 22mpg in a 2012 manual civic - bc my commute is short and through some hilly terrain; same car gets 30-33 mpg in the suburbs and highways so it’s definitely the low mileage trips in almost only 2nd-3rd gear
That's good to know thanks for the info. I've had times in my Xterra where I just needed a little more traction in the rear but the only way to lock the diff is to be in 4lo.
Does anyone know with the crawler gear can you just touch the brakes to slow down and come to a complete stop then let off the brakes and keep rolling as if it was an automatic? Or do you have to engage the clutch in crawler gear when coming to a stop for it not to stall?
I'm wondering if they are worried about the power of the 2.7 with manual shifting... could set them up for lots of things breaking. I'm thinking that's why it's not available. 2.3 turbo is more power than the Pentastar V6's that Jeeps ran for years.
hahahahaha.... oh, was that a real question? I just avoid looking at it..... it's not great. I'll try and remember to look next time I'm on the highway.
With the offset wheels too, a little under 5k. So less than sasquatch package. And I got nicer rims. And got to sell the stock tires for 800$ and use the stock rims for my Ranger. So a no brainer.
No, it goes so slow you can completely remove your foot off the clutch. If your talking about the drivethrough technique, I put it in neutral when not moving.
I will never understand people who speed up when you are passing them. If they were going faster in the first place, you wouldn't have had to pass them. Just drive your speed and mind your own business, people. Being passed is not a slight. Try some RainX on that front camera lens to get rid of the water droplet...
I get it. You get what you pay for. I like roughcountry. A spacer lift is a spacer lift. I know what I have. And yes, i'm actually waiting for decently priced coil over lift to come out.
@@NorthShoreBronco I've had 2 rough country lifts. Both have messed up my Sterring. I can't take my eyes off the road for a second that my truck doesn't drift. It's like driving an old uhaul with bad steering. Moog parts don't help. And their shocks are junk. And I bought the lifts that they recommended and their parts. No modifications on my part on their parts. And get this. It's only a 3 1/2 inch lift. I'm a stickler on saving tires and alignment. Not with their lifts. I drive a 2012 gmc diesel 4x4. I'm on Toyo ATs using stock rims. I shouldn't be having these problems. And forget about their torsion lift. It's worse. I removed that and went to the current lift they have. I should have bought an cognito lift and spent the money right. Your right you get what you pay for. If you can get the fox shocks.
@@NorthShoreBronco please do a long term review of the 4 wheel drive train. Wear and tear. And ford's warranty on this. Viewers would highly appreciate that. Thanks
@@troyheffernan1261 Yea, the problem with most 3" lifts is that they are in between a spacer lift and a real lift. I kind of call them Hybrid lifts. Half level/ half lift. It kills the steering geometry unfortunately and leads to many problems. Little spacer lifts are usualy fine. I'm waiting for a full coil over lift that makes sense financialy.
@@NorthShoreBronco mine is real lift at 3 1/5 with spindles the whole works. It was build for towing. What a joke. It's the Geometry that's off really bad. It's a bad lift. I failed to mention it also caused my factory parts to wear as well. I've had lifted trucks all my life. Quality control is the problem here and testing. That's just my opinion. I've driven standards for years, my MINIs were great. My 2D Bronco Badlands Sasquatch is fantastic, having a standard was a non-negotiable and I'm happy I insisted.
The only drawback is no remote start. (Without considerable aftermarket expense)
Turning the seat heater on for a few minutes while it's warming up, does help.
I have a manual and my wife has an automatic. Standard is so much better!
You went to Hortons...very on brand...love it!
Where else would I go? lol
Great Vid! Yeah, a 2 door manual would’ve been nice! More than happy with my 2.7 4 door though!
Right on! Yea, the 2.7 must be a beast in the Bronco. Cause the 2.3 is plenty. Enjoy!
Thank you! Yea, cameras would be great for rock crawling.
My wife doesn't drive stick but if she wants to drive my bronco when it arrives she will have to learn!
Yea, I guess you can turn them off. I'd just rather swear at them I guess. haha
@@NorthShoreBronco can you turn them off permanently or just every time you turn the truck on ? Love NB I go every year for work. Stay in Saint John but I see so many dirt roads and trails snaking off the highway it always makes me wonder
@@mikemorton0 not sure actually. Someone just notified me of it in the comments. I'll dig around tomorrow.
Excellent video! Did you have rev match when you downshifted while passing the Volvo?
Rev Match? Nope, just anger haha.
It does, for 3 seconds. One thing I forgot to cover....
You are going to love your Bronco!!! The auto start stop only comes on when you are at a full stop in neutral and not touching the clutch. I don't know why people hate it so much, it saves on fuel. And as soon as you start pushing in the clutch it starts up again.
Got an auto I should be picking up Friday here, and if it weren't for Calgary drivers I think I might have gone manual.
Ok. Thanks for the quick reply
@@rockytopvfl8350 Anytime!
Wow just got my 2 d badlands Sasquatch 7mt LOVE IT cant want to hit dirt 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Um.... I love all of those things! haha.
What wheel and tire setup is that? Bronco looks great!
Thanks! It's Fast HD Knuckles wheels. 0mm offset. 35x12.5R17 Toyo Open Country MT's. The offset brings the tires out an inch an a half.
@@NorthShoreBronco Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I found your bumper light install particularly informative and well done!
Thanks for the video. How was your coffee?
Delicious and calming...
Mandalorian 🤘
This is the way!
Is this the MT82 MT found the mustang?
Question for you, is the manual stick shift really the mechanical one connected directly to the transmission or is it just electronic shift that looks like a stick? My TJ jeep does have that real mechanical shifting but when I sat in a manual bronco at the dealer, it shifted without pushing down the clutch, so I suspect it could be a fake manual stick shift
Well mine won't shift without pushing the clutch in, so not sure what happened to that one.
@@NorthShoreBronco maybe they bypassed the clutch in the showroom
@@tbfam569 oh maybe. I'm going to look at the parts diagram and see if it's actual linkage or fly by wire.
What size rim and tires you have looks really good
Thank you! 17 inch rims with 0 offset and 35x12.5 tires.
Thanks for a great video. Waiting on my non squatch base. Been going back and forth on keeping the steelies on 33s but this looks so good im gonna go 35 17s. Question on the offset. If i wanted to go +20ish (with 1" lift) on the offset would those tires you have rub you think?
This is where I was.. then said f it, 3.5" lift, motegi trailite wheels, 35's. Loved it then love it now
Urban crawling thru the drive thru
How else would you do it?
Great content. What kind of fuel mileage are you getting?
ummmm.... I don't want to talk about it....... : ( But seriously, I don't really pay attention because i mostly drive in the woods and small secondary roads. It wouldn't give you a realistic number. If you're going to lift these puppies up and throw on big mud terrains you need to not care about mpg... My 2 cents.
@@NorthShoreBronco yeah was just curious more than anything. Keep the content coming.
thanks. I went out and checked the Bronco. and right now it's 13 miles per galon....
does the manual bronco have an electronic ebrake? or those foot pedals?
It's an e brake.
I’d assume the crawler gear is really meant for heavy loads no?
It's more for lower speed high torque situations. Like rock crawling or going through a tight trail.
I’m undecided. How is your gas mileage with and without the 35’s
Curious if your guages were adjusted for the larger tires/wheels?
No, not yet. I might be going up to 37's.... haha. So I'm waiting for that.
@@NorthShoreBronco would that mean our performance in terms of 0 to 60 was actually slightly better?
@@jaredanderson7494 I suppose so.
Where in Canada?
Watch out for a Kent county Mountie with that camera on your head!
Oh yea? He's got a problem with camera hats? Haha
Thanks for the vid
Any time! Glad it could help! Lots more to come.
I grew up driving manuals, love them but live in NYC. I think i may need to stay with the auto. Im also getting older 53.
I think that's a valid reason, I'll give you that. I've been to NYC but just on foot. Driving would be it's own challenge in all that traffic.
You should truly think about doing a live feed while four wheeling in the woods! You could also make some good money doing it 😉😉
What’s a caffee?
A French Coffee haha
Can you lock the rear diff in 2 wheel drive or only in 4 wheel drive?
you know what? I'm not sure. I'll try today and get back to you.
You can! Tried it today.
That's good to know thanks for the info. I've had times in my Xterra where I just needed a little more traction in the rear but the only way to lock the diff is to be in 4lo.
Actually moves pretty fast for the crawler gear when in the context of a drive thru
You could always throw it in 4 low haha. Be mall crawling like a boss!
Does anyone know with the crawler gear can you just touch the brakes to slow down and come to a complete stop then let off the brakes and keep rolling as if it was an automatic? Or do you have to engage the clutch in crawler gear when coming to a stop for it not to stall?
As much as it sucks and as much as I that's the number one thing I absolutely just gives me road rage but I'm glad to know it's not just in America
Oh those special people are everywhere unfortunately.
Always a manual..........wow, what features in the new technology........
Gotta get me some of that anti murder potion!
are these still going for $300k ?
Tell you what, I'll sell you mine for $200k, that's a $100k discount!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does the new Bronco not have hill assist?
It does! but only kicks in at a steeper angle.
Just wish it came with the 6 cyl. I worry about the 4 door Sasquatch being underpowered with only a 4 cyl.
2022 you can get the SAS w/the Auto.
@@adamwebber9547 Wish you could get 7 speed manual/6 cyl/ 4 door/ Sasquatch. Can’t always get what you want I guess ha
I'm wondering if they are worried about the power of the 2.7 with manual shifting... could set them up for lots of things breaking. I'm thinking that's why it's not available. 2.3 turbo is more power than the Pentastar V6's that Jeeps ran for years.
I like the idea of a manual but it seems like a lot of work.
Gotta work hard to play hard!
What's your MPG while cruising the highway in 6th?
hahahahaha.... oh, was that a real question? I just avoid looking at it..... it's not great. I'll try and remember to look next time I'm on the highway.
You didnt demo the 7th gfear
Tire size please
35x12.5R17. I go over the specs at the beginning if you want to see.
estimated cost for the 1" lift and 35" tire upgrade (Yeti version)
With the offset wheels too, a little under 5k. So less than sasquatch package. And I got nicer rims. And got to sell the stock tires for 800$ and use the stock rims for my Ranger. So a no brainer.
30lbs more each or combined?
EACH! 😬😬😬😬😬
doing the crawler gear and clutch is fine but are you gonna keep your foot on the clutch the entire time? that doesnt make any sense
No, it goes so slow you can completely remove your foot off the clutch. If your talking about the drivethrough technique, I put it in neutral when not moving.
7 speed 4 life
cute, and the bronco too! lol
Thanks! 😉
So 7th gear is useless? Didn't see you use it
7th gear is the crawler gear. so the 7th speed is a slow one technically...
I will never understand people who speed up when you are passing them. If they were going faster in the first place, you wouldn't have had to pass them.
Just drive your speed and mind your own business, people. Being passed is not a slight.
Try some RainX on that front camera lens to get rid of the water droplet...
Oh nice tip. I will Try that. I may as well do all the cameras. Thanks!
I think if the Bronco had the low end torque of a V8 you wouldn’t need to give it gas in a drive threw or use the craw gear
That's so true. Every time I'm in the drive through I'm like "Man, if only I had a V8 right now!". 😃
@@NorthShoreBronco definitely for sure add the ol 5.0 in there that would be good
Get that rough country lift off that thing. Trust me. Wait till something else comes out
Thanks again I appreciate your input .

I always wonder why the US and Canada drive autos 99% of the time and why manual isnt a thing there. Here in south africa basically the whole country drives or can drive manual.
Nice! The convenience maybe? I love my manual!
@@NorthShoreBronco possibly, i also dont understand why the Americans make such a big deal if they drive "stick". If someone drives a manual there they are considered highly skilled drivers... nothing to do with skill hahaha driving a manual becomes second nature and you dont even think about it.
