So don't worry about knowing the story of the first Red Dead Redemption. RDR2 is a prequal set in 1899 set in the "Heartland of America" within a bunch of fictional states. While RDR1 is set in 1911 within the Western Border States located to the West of the RDR2 map, Blackwater was the most east you could travel in the first game so everything east of Blackwater is all new to us RDR1 fans. The only connection between the two games is certain characters, seeing events mentioned in RDR1 happen in RDR2 and for fans like myself who played RDR1 and then RDR2 we knew a little going into this game but for the most part 95% of the game, characters, locations, and events were new to us. Also playing RDR2 before RDR1 is such a cool experience judging of the reactions from people who've played RDR2 first and then went back and played RDR1. It's very much a series that you can play in whatever order you want and have a blast.

Some of my favourite playthroughs have been TLOU 1&2, GOW, Marvel Spiderman etc. Red Ded 2 is THE GOAT! Done like 4/5 full walk-throughs and still find new things today that didn't know existed in the game. 😳
Casina this game is truly one of THE best games ever made, I recently started it for the first time and I'm already almost done with my second playthrough. It's slow, it gets boring, but it's truly just a different experience in all, I hope you finish this
one of the biggest gripes people tend to have with this game is the traversing the map without getting bored. in my 2nd playthrough i discovered you can tap x to gallop on your horse...then hit the middle touch pad button to change the camera to cinematic mode your horse will then auto ride to the waypoint marked on the map (careful it can get tired and buck you off so medium speed) you can also fast travel by buying the map that you find in the 2nd camp (located on dutches tent i think) good luck its a very very fun game
