    Going on what I've seen around the place, I think I might splurge on one of these as it'll go better in my swag than the foam mattress that is in there now. The bag-inflate idea is fantastic... no need to carry a pump!
    The other great thing about this is that it is not the Wanderer brand... Bought one once and it was rubbish.... have had extremely good fortune with Coleman stuff since.

      These do feel like well made mats, Hugh, made in line with Coleman's usual quality. They will certainly provide a better night of sleep than most foam swag mats. ~ Ben

      I also just bought the Wanderer ones and I was shocked to find out that they are not bonded inside. Too soft to sleep on and impossible to inflate as they turn into a ball.

    Wow great mat, if I could only find one outside of Australia. Thanks for the video.

      Coleman products are found in many countries around the world . Look around in outdoor camping stores I’m sure you will find one .

      Coleman products vary from country to country, 828findadventure, I'm not sure if this one is available outside of Australia but surely there is something similar available.

      @@SnowysOutdoors Interestingly enough you can find Oztent sleeping pads here when they are in stock, but not the Coleman. It is so strange because every store in America carries Coleman camping products, but not these sleeping pads. Might have to add that to my list of top reasons to move to Australia.

      @@828findadventure Coleman seem to have very distinct product ranges for each country, we get a lot of US enquiries about the tents that are only available here.
      I reckon I could rattle off a whole lot of other reasons to move to Australia, we live in a great country.

      I just bought one in Japan, so there's a chance they might release them in other countries too. Got the double for 16000 yen (about 150 US dollars) from Amazon.

    Do you have any videos on rolling these up? I have read its not an easy job with this type of mattress. Be great to see the pack up please.

    • @SnowysOutdoors

      We don't have a video on rolling this mat specifically, Jody, but we do have one demonstrating on an Exped mat here - ua-cam.com/video/SvJYkyWdEZ0/v-deo.html. The process is much the same for all of this type of mat, however, you will find that the Coleman High Peak mats require a little more perseverance to get them rolled up tightly as they contain a more foam. ~ Ben

    I have had nothing but trouble with mine. I own a few different mattresses and the Coleman is the only one that the foam twists inside the casing. It takes a lot of effort to work it back to proper alignment, then every morning it is twisted around again. Im throwing mine in the bin. (:

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Рік тому

      I've never heard of a bonded mat twisting inside the casing, Joe, maybe there is an issue with yours. It could be worth having it looked at in case there is a warranty issue. ~ Ben

    I’d be interested in your opinion of the Coleman compared to the exped mats.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  4 роки тому +8

      The Coleman mats are new, Scott, so it's hard to give a definitive opinion until we get some feedback, but I think the Exped mats are still superior. The brushed stretch fabric on the Exped mats balances comfort and durability really, they offer a better warranty and they pack up smaller and lighter. But, you pay extra for this. ~ Ben

    Looks like a great mat with awesome features, but I think a 2m length is bad because it won't fit a lot of smaller tents. Please update the video to show unpacking/repacking.
    Oh and $289 for the double :-( :-( :-(

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  4 роки тому +2

      They do feel like a good mat, DOCWHOK9.
      Given most people will be using this in larger tents, the 2 metre length will probably be preferred by a majority and there are other shorter options in the market for those with smaller tents.
      As for packing it away, we don't do this for every mat as the process is much the same for all self inflating mats and the videos would become rather repetitive. We did create a video here where I roll up one of the larger double self inflating mats in our range - ua-cam.com/video/SvJYkyWdEZ0/v-deo.html. The mat I pack away in the video is one of the harder ones to roll up, the main difference with the Coleman mat is that the valve operation is a little different.
      Regarding price, this is in line with other mats of similar quality, have you seen others at a better price?
      Thanks for your comments though, these mats are new so we have yet to receive feedback on them, but on the surface they look pretty good.

      @@justwingit1633 it's just like any other economy; premium price for premium product. There's nothing actually wrong with _preferring_ to drive Holden, but you can't get an Aston Martin for Holden prices.
      I have a Vango Dreamboat 16 which is even thicker + more expensive than these - but to me, that expense was worthwhile for how much gentler it made camping on my damaged back.
      I have a buddy who sleeps on a 5cm suede Weisshorn which cost him like $40, + that suits him fine - & honestly, more power to him; if I could, I would, + save all that extra cash. But since I can't, I had to make more of an investment than he did to get the level of equipment I required.
      - shrug -
      Different strokes, you know?
