Good review Kon, thank you. Always enjoy your reviews.
Kon, the self locking function as you walk away, I’ve only recently found out that my 2011 Mazda 6 has that too, albeit buried under the MDS diagnostic menu. That feature was deactivated by default by Bermaz. I’ve turned mine on so yeah, a 2011 dinosaur having an updated feature now.
CX3 AWD already uses torsion beam rear suspension since 2015!
Will there be a new facelift CKD, CX-5 with 2.5T at 250bhp, HUD and AWD ?
I recall KE CX5 2.0 AWD was not selling well...
I not sure when it can turn to puretech 1.2 litter 2008
Niche like the CH-R
is this really worth it? the AWD is only realtime and not All-time - i suspect commuting on normal malaysian roads none of the owners will ever experience AWD kick-in during their time-ownership
Kon, are you a mechanical engineer?
AWD with torsion beam, same setup like estima acr55
2.0 liter N.A skyactive with awd crossover....this is my dreamcar.. but for 12k extra.. mazda should also provide a sportier looking rims
What's wrong with torsion beam? Multilink is better? How?
Ride and handling. Torsion beams are not flexible, one side wheel goes up the other goes down. Multi-link independent suspensions each wheel are not tied to a beam so the wheels are free to adjust height in uneven situations.
Its simply better handling.
In Canada with snow you need AWD, FWD even with snow tires is not good enough...
Yeah, I remember visiting my cousins in Vancouver and observed that AWD is a very popular option among Canadian motorists.
torsion beammm.arghh
For me, that just shows how costly the Mazda 3 is
If this crossover came with a 2.5 Turbo, it would be perfect
if mazda Malaysia did it..price will go up RM180k and people will said better buy cx5 2.5 turbo CKD instead
Clums Nums true, however some true fans would buy it, albeit in smaller numbers. It should be CKD’d though
Even CX-5 Turbo is not selling that well but a more expensive entry level premium brand SUV that has worse spec is outselling it.
Does not make sense to CKD small numbers. You lose economies of scale.
ch13t yes I know..just a pipe dream😂
no thanks. waiting for it to be locally assembled first. if the price is lower than CX-5 then it might be worth consider.
At the price you’re paying, should’ve been a multilink suspension.
Not defending it, but the Mercedes A 200 gives you rear torsion beam too. Haha.
@@KonWaiLuen Merceds A 200 is a the lowest class of the luxury line in Mercedes line up. The mazda CX30 AWD is the top line trim premium of the vehicle in mazda's own line up. There is no excuse to when comparing low to high trims.
Merc has more refinements than the mazda. When other companies like subaru offers independent suspensions on all their vehicles regardless, there is no excuse for mazda to cut costs other than the fact they are financially poor as a company. Even cheapest korean cars elantra has multi-link.
AWD is more suitable for the 1.5 NA. I think FWD is needed for stuff like the 2.5 turbo version.
You got it the other way round right?
Adoi careful bro
Waa ur bro so rishh
12k for awd is worth it..
Ur being ripped off compared to a subaru AWD.
They packaged this because they lie about cutting costs while raising the prices. The exorbitant pricing Mazda charges to have a torsion vehicle that rides rough is an excuse. Mazda is not willing to admit they are just doing financially poor and can't afford to design a vehicle that uses better suspension. This is the reason why they only put multi link in the CX5 only since thats the only vehicle in the line up that sells.
Older mazda's uses multi-link and they removed it in the new models is a big step back. Cutting touch screen out isn't for safety reasons. If you need to spend the same time fiddling with knob ur eyes are still moving over the the screen anyways.
Mazda excuse that torsion beam makes the rear have more space....the car would have better interior space if it designed for function over form. Mazda only cares about form not function, one of the biggest reason Mazda 3 was a massive fail. No one liked the blind spot problems in the newer gen and rear space still isn't suitable for any adults. CX30 isn't any better, adults struggle to get into it.
Mazda CX5 2.5 Turbo AWD is only RM5000 more than this CX30 2.0 AWD. No brainer to get the bigger more powerful car
Technically the current CX5 is 1 generation behind from the CX30. So when the new gen CX5 comes I’m quite sure it won’t be 5k more. Also the CX5 is assembled in Malaysia. CX30 is fully imported.
@@syumassh yes that is true but we're looking at the current situation 'now'. Be it a generation newer or not the current pricing of the two models only begets a 5 thousand difference. The CX5 is 1 size larger, and has the more powerful and costlier 2.5 turbo engine in addition to its most sophisticated multi link rear suspention compared to the cx30. It is placed higher in Mazda's product portfolio hierarchy. Picking the CX5 turbo is still a no brainer for the majority of people as the saying goes 'lagi besar lagi best', 'size does matter' I'm sure everybody has heard of these phrases. Unless your priorities lies elsewhere with focus on having the 'newest' design, dashboard, features than they might go for the CX30.
@@adlethoong1370 there always big boss daddy buy this car for his daughter instead of cheap quality GLA class with higher price
Torsion beamed AWD??? Oxymoronic.
