These drivers are trained in a similar way, not only they learn defensive driving and evasive driving, they also learn how to be presentable. Anyone who has worked in a corporate setting knows how important it is to look presentable in front of your clients and customers.

Once I was a NSS volunteer in SCO youth meeting which was held in hotel ashoka as i am a student of russian language I was there as a translator although my Russian language is not so good it is below than average but in my college only some of the students were interested in this task. So i got a chance to meet delegates of Uzbekistan (minister of youth and sports*something like that*) so the driver uncle who was with me to recieve the delegates at the airport told me all this things and he told me about each kind of people he meet on everyday basis and he told me how polite some people can be with him and some are impolite too. I liked the conversation with uncle he was a humble man.
Perceptions do matter people. India is a huge country. And we are getting there. It'll take time. Meanwhile such good perceptions are the things that'll attract people again to India (of course along with other stuff like security). I don't see why people have to hate this. These people know the importance of their jobs. And they are happy to do it.
There are millions of Indian cab drivers and drivers in general in UK, USA, Canada etc. I think the world already knows our perception regarding Indians and drivers.

A kind request to all the highly educated people who are reading my comment, if you ever feel like not being able to crack a decent job or you are unemployed, don't get disheartened, you always have an option of being an elite driver or personal assistant. These are not demeaning in any way and the fact that celebrities and well known people look for well educated people for these jobs, you might fit in well. I have one of my friends, a mechanical engineer, driving for a well know personality, earning in lakhs per month and assists the celebrity during foreign tours and is just like family, well respected.

drivers are not poor, rather they are doing better then those who books cabs. That's why many drivers have attitude and in Delhi many times they cancel rides and refuse to go.. who cares about money they have attitude. similar issue with the auto drivers. but when we file complaint against them then they act and say we are poor.. although there kids are docs, engineers.. and are into many other professions. Why are they arrogant to common men and polite to super rich?? do they lack ethics??
The fun fact is that no training for sticking to traffic rules and observing lane discipline or not honking is ever given to them. 200 kmph . Safety not an issue for others and the passengers in the car.

drivers are not poor, rather they are doing better then those who books cabs. That's why many drivers have attitude and in Delhi many times they cancel rides and refuse to go.. who cares about money they have attitude. similar issue with the auto drivers. but when we file complaint against them then they act and say we are poor.. although there kids are docs, engineers.. and are into many other professions. Why are they arrogant to common men and polite to super rich?? do they lack ethics??
