One of the best debut albums ever....and Dave rightly castigated us when playing Paisley....where was the noise when supporting The Jam at Glasgow Apollo? :D...Was shouting promise! Beyond the debut vinyl (remember vinyl?) the quality continued....still does. My thanks and appreciation.
How many years has it been ..... still engraved in my personal memory card: And I wanna fight wars / And I wanna die young / So dont keep saying like father like son
Hi, it might be due to News At Ten failing to make an impact in the charts. This, I am sure; Is due to a BBC strike. Thus TOTP was cancelled the week where The Vapors performed News At Ten. I also think the band wanted to release News At Ten first, rather than Turning Japanese. So perhaps the clip was to honour the bands missed performance, and opportunity
One of my favorite bands from the 80s.
I don't care that this is a TOTP re-pop, it's a powerful song from a great, woefully underrated band.
This track is very Buzzcocksesque. This song and Magnets are very unique, a completely singular sound from the band. Great stuff.
such a great band 2 albums of fab tunes
And now 3!

"This is dubbed! Not even singing News At Ten, It's more like Turning Japanese!!! TOP OF THE POPS!!!!"
Well spotted.
The Vapors sounded like a cross between The Jam & Boom Town Rats
Great power pop

GS, thank you. You and me both.
Verdade
This clip is the Vapors performing 'Turning Japanese'' on Top of the Pops. What is the point of this?

@keechmabreeks It's part of a "reconstruction " of Top of the Pops for the missing weeks
The singers moves obviously influenced by their manager Bruce Foxton
Bassline also straight from Foxton.
Video I get is shit....but my comment stands....
