❤ I was a little girl, in 1977...But, all my brothers and sisters were older than me, and they lived the 70's decade to the fullest, so...I used to hear this music all the time, this sounds fill my house... I love this music, and reminds me of my childhood...Thanks for the memories ❤
It was the best time to be kid in the 1970s. I turned a teenager in March 1976. We had it easy as children. We had no mobiles computers etc etc. people were more friendler back then.
Many a night listening to these songs on the radio working the midnight shift as a as a 26 yr old police officer. In late '76, I took Elvin Bishop's song "I Fooled Around and Fell In Love" to heart with my next door neighbor.........then married her in '77. Still going strong after 48 years together.
My dearly departed mother loved many of these bands, namely, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Heart and Styx, to name but a few. I can thank her for passing her love for them onto me. 🎶
My niece and nephews know a lot of these songs because they've heard them on the radio in their Dad's car. My niece loves ABBA and Boney M's version of "Sunny" and my nephews love Heart's "Barracuda", because of its inclusion in the trailer for "The Meg 2."
I grew up in the 70s but have never heard of Boney M back in the day or now. YT is making me aware of something I didn’t realize was missing in my life.
I'm 60 years old. I've just come to the realization that 1977 was the best year overall for music. If you have a different opinion, im sorry you're wrong but I wish you the best.❤❤❤
1977 was a great year! Therefore, I could still remember most of the songs! Some groups almost forgoten but then remembered again: 10cc, Jean-Michel Jarre, Leo Sayer, ...
So many fantastic performers and groups in 1977! People tend to call that era, "Disco", but there was GREAT variety in 1977, as this video shows. We have classic rock and roll, disco, pop, country, instrumentals, soul, and a little hispanic music on the airwaves. Great time, I was only 12, but always listened to Casey Kasem on the weekends and had many of these hits on vinyl or 8 track.
1977 was an outstanding year in my life. I just got off active duty from the US Marines and was in my second year of college. Drove a 1972 Plymouth Cuda, 340 4-speed.
Rod Stewart, ABBA, Queen, Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, all releasing songs within a few months. What a year to be alive! In Spanish also, José José, Emanuel, Angela Carrasco, Angelica Maria, Camilo Sesto, Rocío Durcal, Roberto Carlos... Definitively, what a year to be alive!
A WONDERFUL year for music, Some GOOD (Great) and others not as good memories in there - Stars on 45 started here! Many Thanks for your work compiling and sharing!
I only recognized one-third of the songs, and only the names of half the performers. I really wasn't listening to the radio much anymore. It is surprising which songs were popular in the same timeline. Thank you.
Ah yes....love these....takes me back to when I had my driver's permit and a work permit😁 Plus I use these to load up new running playlists❤️ Carry on Some random guy🤗💫🤗💫🤗
The 70s are my fourth favorite decade for music with the introduction of disco and reggae though reggae started in the 60s in Jamaica and of course, plenty of influential acts of the era.
@@trinaqThere were other reggae acts after him, most notably his kids, Peter Tosh, Sean Paul, and others with varying degrees of success. Bob Marley is still iconic, but most of the other reggae acts haven't had the same impact as he did. It’s similar to Afrobeats with Fela Kuti as my mom’s Nigerian and she calls Fela the Nigerian Bob Marley and there are other Afrobeats acts after Fela like Wizkid, Tems, Davido, and others.
David Dundas - Jeans On, Oliver Onions - Orzowei, Jeanette - Porque Te Vas, Bonnie Tyler - Lost In France, John Paul Young - Standing In The Rain, Belle Epoque - Black Is Black, Showaddywaddy - Under The Moon Of Love, Lynsey De Paul - Rock Bottom, Bay City Rollers - It's A Game, David Bowie - Soul And Vision, Uriah Heep - Lady In Black, Status Quo - Rockin' All Over The World, Amanda Lear - Queen Of Chinatown ..... 👍👍👍😺
At 15 in ‘77, I had a huge poster of Styx on my bedroom wall. Mom and dad would just shake their heads and silently wonder if their only son had lost his marbles 😂 😂😂
I graduated from HS in 1977. I missed a lot of these tunes because I only listened to FM album-rock stations. Listen to obscure early-80s new wave if you really want to feel acutely embarrassed for the artists!
Joined the Navy in the summer of 77.Spent the next year sailing the seas aboard the best ship in the fleet USS JFK!! I would gladly do it all over again.
My favorite songs from the year I was born were ... Space - Magic Fly Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene Queen - We Will Rock You - We Are the Champions Eagles - Hotel California Julie Covington - Dont Cry for Me Argentina Boney M - Ma baker - Sunny

Bom!
Kacey Cisyk - You Light Up My Life, no Debby Boonie who was just lipsyncing!!!
And what about "Cerrone - Supernature"?

I was 18 years old, riding my car. This kind of music on the cassette. No care in the world. The best times.

Disco was a gift from heaven. ❤

Some have been forgotten but so many absolute anthems came out of that year.
I appreciate you doing these videos so much.
80’s is my favourite followed by late 70’s 👏🏼
I play them over and over.
Back in the day when songs had true melodies and the artists could actually sing and play instruments, with nothing being swamped by noisy trash!!!!
All great songs 🎉🎉🎉
Bought back lots of memories, knew at least 95%, thanks!
I was 17 then and had most of these songs in my record collection.
One of the best years in classic 70's music ❤🎶 ❤

You Light Up My Life is one of my favorite songs ever. Didn’t know it was made in 1977…amazing 😮
Spent the Summer with my Dad in S.F. Cali - played Boston, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac endlessly - then Elvis died. Quite a memorable Summer.
Great work
I was born 2008 but I know a lot of these songs
Even before this vid I have always thought of 1977 as the best year of pop music. Such good melodies, tunes, harmonies.
Thanks for that, great year for music. Just made me realise why I was a punk in 1977.
