I tried this and it literally tastes exactly like Sarku. Definitely adding this to my regular cooking repertoire.
Glad you enjoyed it! Please share if there’s other meals that you’d like to see on the channel! ✌🏼
Wow this recipe is DA BOMB dude. My local Sarku moved awhile ago and been craving some. Ill be damned if this isnt practically spot on. You nailed it with the thigh meat, same texture and tenderness. You sir are a magician, that or you got your hands on their recipe lol many thanks!
For the full experience, grab a plastic bag and styrofoam container 😉
I’ve made this twice now. It’s legit just like the one in the mall but I feel it’s healthier and you control the quality of the protein. Use a good non-stick pan and make sure it’s pre-heated to high (maybe not all the way to high) the first time I made this I used a crappy pan and while it tasted ok, it wasn’t caramelize like it’s supposed to, I still made 3 meals out of it, the second time I was shocked, I used a good non-stick pan and oh my lord… also I added a tsp of brown sugar the second time I made it and for the veggies I just sautéed well shopped carrots and broccoli. But yeah, thanks for this recipe, I’m going to be making on the regular now. Also, the first time I didn’t thinly sliced the chicken thighs and the second time I made sure to thinly cut them and it was much better.
Glad it turned out well!! 😄
Awesome
Definitely trying this!
It's a great simply and easy meal!
My dad used to make this a lot :) good times… love your channel my friend! I’m subscribed! 😋

@@whatsfordinnerbryan bro... this comment is a year old, lol. But I still remember making this and it was amazing. So thanks for the reminder, I gotta make it again soon.
@@brettmoore6781 glad it turned out well!! 🙌🏼
That chicken looks delicious, and I really enjoyed the video. Having the recipe written in the description would be nice though.
Tho tbh since the vid is only 5 min it's pretty easy to skip around to the part u need
Definitely! Will try to add that in the future! Should not be too big of an hassle to add it.
This video was wonderful, amazing recipe! I can feel you'll be seeing more views and subs in the coming months, good content gets people's attention
More great content is to come!
Thanks for the vid! One thing I would add is that the sarku one also comes with some broccoli
Good idea! I’ll be sure to add that next time I make this 😁
New sub. Gotta try this
Definitely try it! A beef version would also taste good and might be on the todo list... 🤫
When I was a kid . I ordered Chop Suey Chow Mein. (Chicken ) can you teach me how to make this. I like your vids. Easy and delicious. TY
I'll add it to the list! Keep and eye out!
So I am hoping that Baking soda is bicarb soda here in Australia! Trying it tonight :) EDIT: JUST TRIED IT AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. Aussie folk, use Bicarb not baking powder. Never had Sarku but this was delicious.
It is yep! Baking soda = Soda Bicarbonate. Just make sure it is food grade and safe to consume.
oh baby
🤤
Your recipe is awesome and will go
very high.of course it will be very tasty to eat.😋 I love it .I will definitely try it.You will tell me in the comments. How do you like my recipe?Thanks..😋👍👏
so you can freeze it? for how long? is it good even after freezing?
Great question! I don’t know but I think if you vacuum sealed the chicken or put it in an air tight bag with as much air removed it would likely freeze well. The rice and veggies likely will be mushy after freezing but the chicken probably tastes good still. Give it a try and let me know how it works out! Otherwise I’ll be making lots more videos here and will try to revisit! 👍🏼
Is this rice wine necessary? I have only mirin and rice vinegar
Xiaoxing rice wine isn't essential, but it does help bring out more flavor. 👍🏻
Gotta have the extra sauce though
I wonder if cooking down the marinade to kill off any bacteria from the chicken and thickening a little with corn starch would work.

Ty for the recipe but, Where is the ginger taste that is prominent in this dish? It sounds yummy, but how can it be spot on without the ginger flavor
I don't personally taste ginger, but if you'd like you might try adding some ginger powder or a slice of ginger while cooking to add some ginger flavor. 👍🏻
Blanch the veggies for the full effect
Good idea! 🙌🏼
Soy cocinero de Sarku japan y no es haci 😅
Hola amigo cuánto tiempo se cocina ese pollo para q quede así, y como hago las verduras amo.ese.bemto
Como es? Puedes explicar?
@@mq1847no he cannot explain because he wants attention and doesn’t know it. If he knew it he would just write it versus saying “that’s wrong”
I notice there weren't any sweet ingredients, isn't sarku japan pretty sugary?
Absolutely. I’m willing to give this a shot though. I wouldn’t recommend having rice sit in a container for 6 days. 1 day is about the most I would be able to do considering rice is a hot bed for bacteria.
For this teriyaki recipe we focused more on the saltiness side with soy sauce. Other recipes like the grilled teriyaki video do use some brown sugar in the marinade. Might be worth trying to add some sugar and seeing if that more closely matches what you like. 👍🏻
@@whatsfordinnerbryanI’m just surprised after all these years, no one has the recipe for their sauce. It’s amazing. I’ve tried so many and none have got it right.
H3h3 music
It was driving me crazy where I had heard it before! 😅
Can you pls. Show the full measurement . Thank you
Great feedback! I’ll work on trying to be more consistent with providing the ingredients list in the description section. 👍🏼
