I'd seen a few of your videos on Overlord character and the World Items, and they all made me curious about the novels. But this here. This has made me decide to go get the books and read them myself. It's all way more in-depth than I ever would have expected! So thank you for your harf work writing up and narrating these videos!
Bit of a quibble about what happened when Jacknev was lured into the alliance with Nazerick. First the emperor was part of the plan to send the workers to the tomb thanks to the influence of his advisor, the traitorious mage. He was using the noble that sponsored the workers as a blind for his own schemes or so he thought. Second Jacknive proposed the alliance himself in a desperate play to avoid incurring the wrath of Nazerick. Since Ainz had just suggested that he was about to take sweeping and aggressive action to secure the peace and quite he so loved. Third this was part of Demiurges plan and was the exact reaction he predicted. He even says something along the lines of how easy it is to predict the action a smart person as opposed to predicting the actions of a fool.
This video is the exact reason I subscribe to you things just like this comprehensive explanations of exactly why I love this show and exactly how brilliant the plans truly are plus your explanation and accent are amazing
Amazing video, I really appreciate the synopsis. Even though I've read the light novels (and am eagerly awaiting 14), it's great to have such a comprehensive recap of this section of the novels. Such splendid writing, I love how the story intertwines.
I DON'T care if overlord is bad for most anime watcher. I look for animes, manga, webtoon, light novels and sadly only beserk, Tokyo ghoul, solo leveling, beginning of the end, goblins slayer. Are good. But overlord is just perfect. No BS lore is incredible. The back story of the 13 Heroes, 6 gods, 8 greed king. Such a rich world. I wish it had more volume. 17 is not enough. But you sir. the thing about the empire is that it was a better nation then the kingdom its military is more centralized more profesional more loyal it has a develop a more economy and its more secure in its powerbase we can already see the anual war is weakning the kingdom the fact that jircniv was quite confident in taking erantal for ainz shows that the empire could win any war with the kingdom but they chose stretegic patience by chipping away bit by bit of what left of the kingdom economy and military might so when war really breaks out it would be cake walk but of course ainz kind of ruined there plan but in the long run its almost inevitable that the empire will anex the kingdom
The book is written in Japanese. Ainz can read it. Idk if the anime touched upon it but in the LN its stated that though the NW residents sound japanese, their speech do not fit their mouth movements. That's why Fluder & Ainz can understand eachother but Ainz can't read their world writing and Fluder can't understand Japanese.

Thats funny to think in the end that was a happy end for the Emperor. He wasn't really that bad anyways, he was a reformer and life there was lots better than most places for the avg person.
The guy probably IS Momonga now, with max intelligence which probably manifests itself as subconscious thinking. My reasoning is that since he can't sleep, in reality he should be insane due to the massive stress he puts his consciousness under, pointing to the fact that he isn't trapped in his character so much as he is really Momonga (Ainz) now. If that's true, then he really does have the intelligence his character has and doesn't even know it... his lack of feelings towards humans in the world also point to this, since as an Undead he wouldn't feel anything towards them besides lingering old memories of his human life
Agree on Guts, I do think Shalltear would have the edge, though. Without Einherjar I would probably agree the scales would tilt that way but with the 2v1 aspect and the ability to switch and heal off their own household would be hard for Saber.
@@kingthanos1173 I forgot about Gazef's Razor Edge and his armor, martial arts alone shoudn't save Gazef from cannon hand from Guts and Guts has bigger and heavier greatsword. If their fighting ability is equal i think pure strength shoud give Guts advantage, but with Razor Edge Gazef will simply destroy dragonslayer before Guts can hit him. That way Guts will lose. Shalltear can heal and use many skills, but i think Saber with Excalibur can blow up all summons even with Einheriar at once. Saber has Avalon and this can block absolutely everything even up to a sixth dimension. Also passive regeneration Avalon can give should be enough to compensate Shalltears regeneration abilities. Both matchups are close, so choosing a winner is a bit hard :/
Centurion3210 how many times do you think Saber can unleash Excalibur’s full strength? It usually brings her near exhaustion and Shalltear has multiple abilities to negate attack, cancel magic, or reverse damage from an attack. Exhausting herself to use Excalibur’s golden form would almost certainly kill the household, but against Shalltear would probably be the least wise course, potentially negated or at least not damaging Shalltear while debilitating Saber. Avalon is powerful but Shalltear has dimensional abilities, too, though Overlord doesn’t have a direct use of ordered dimensions so it may come down to whether you believe Shalltear’s dimensional abilities are through only the first six in Fate’s system. Honestly string theory implies between 10 and 26 dimensions are interconnected so Shalltear moving to any other random three would have at least 34/35 ([10-3]!/[10-3-3]!*3!possibilities with combos 4/5/6 not succeeding) chance of at least one being 7+. Of course Fate doesn’t seem to be using ‘dimensions’ in this sense and this becomes the most difficult ability to evaluate. Avalon also needs to be fed magical energy for its abilities and in this fight I think her exhaustion is the biggest determinant. TL/DR I think the dimensions argument is impossible to satisfactorily resolve but I don’t think it can be reliably used to discount Shalltear’s dimensional shift. Besides that Shalltear is a good endurance fighter who can heal for free in melee combat and negate big hits. Saber can dish big hits or heal but runs out of magic to fuel her healing and golden Excalibur relatively quickly. Shalltear just needs to craft a few situations where Saber needs to use her trump card (or extensively heal) and she wins.
you know... the more I think about it the more I love the characters in overlord, its so sad that the creator of overlord got sick with his creation and decided to end it in 3 or 4 volumes. not a lot of stories have such a great cast of lovable characters, I wish that he would have decided to expand the world with those characters like after Ainz rule or defeat, honestly Ainz is my least favorite character in overlord.

@@gendalfgray7889 yeah but the thing about actual medievil combat is that most army break way befroe casulties ever hit more then 20 percent that happens over multiple battle and multiple period of time the goal is to win the battle and win the war not kill everyone so there a 4 in 5 chance your not gonna die at all but if you met ainz well in the battle death is pretty much it think of it this way the battle havent even started and 70k soldier are dead while the rest are fleeing for there lives while being killed off by the dark young

Well he didn't really have much else. If he tried to fight, it would be katze plains for his legions. There was no guarantee that the theocracy would rush to help him. I am sure he was going through all the options available. Being allies than later a vassal state ensured his safety and the empire's people.
Just like everyone else, I love how Jircniv jumps to conclusions about the genius of Ainz. But I think Jircniv's fear and eventual submission of the empire as a vassal state makes sense when you look at it through his eyes. Even without making a mistake about Ainz' genius intellect, from Jircniv's point of view, Ainz is literally the devil with the power to easily destroy entire nations single-handedly. Ainz also has an entire army of powerful beings at his command that can also destroy entire nations. When confronted with such overwhelming power, Jircniv arrived at the logical conclusion that it was a matter of the survival of the human race that all nations unite to even have a slim chance of surviving against Ainz, should Ainz decide to just go genocidal and kill all humans.
I hope this doesn't rub anyone the wrong way, especially the UA-camr making the video, but the accent is very strong for me and I sometimes have a hard time keeping up. I would like subtitles to be available so I can keep up with what's being said cause I'm interested and I do appreciate the man behind the voice.
Most Summons are Limited unless a Catalyst is Used. Atleast thats how it seems in the new world. Undead take bodies. Demons I think need a Sacrifice and or Ritual with reagents / Contract. Elementals need the Material required. [Ice Elemental uses Ice stone Elemental uses Stone ect...] Angels? Not going to lie Holy Bathwater or some Holy Ground / Symbol. I know you can summon most things and thanks to the Dark Knight OV we know that Summons have an Ego; Ideas thoughts and Opinions. So I honestly think you could summon a Intelligent being and ask them how to make them Permanent. 10/10 would summon a Angel buddy to be my pocket healer and see how independent summoned Permanents can become. (Dont want to summon an Incubus tell him to be independent and then turn into his pet via Demon dongus.)

Platinum dragon lord hes a new worlders not a player. Ainz might be the only player in that area of the world. There could be more players in another part of the world.
The most important question is was aniz,summon to the world,reincarnated to the world or is it all in his head that is the only question I want to know.
The Current Theory is that Ainz had a Seizure when the power cut and server crashed killing him. His soul transmigrated with his only connection his Avatar. We know that only guilds and Players with World Class items transmigrated. Outside of that I'm not sure.

There is one thing i never understood from Overlord, how the hell nobles can be such weakling and survive? Say for example there was a civil war in the kingdom, in all likelyhood the King would win since he has Gazef a literal superhuman under his command? How did such a luxurious way of thinking was established when the enviroment is way more savage and an individual can obtain several times the power others have.
That's precisely why the Kingdom ended up being corrupted to the core. Rampossa III was a good person (not willing to kill anyone) but he did not have what it takes to be a ruler in the New World.
@@SDayle Not exactly what i meant. What i do not understand is how they are like nobles from a world without absurd powers. When a kingdom starts off it is faced with conflict and so the people who do exceptionaly well get rank and eventualy titles and if the next generations want promotions among other things being able to perform well in battles and wars would be ideal. So, a culture where strength and skill would be revered above bloodlines should be the logical outcome. The only way for them to have such values is if the kingdom was at peace, which it was not since they had an "annual war" This kind of decadence can't come in a single generation! I am starting to think that the destruction of the kingdom was inevitable and it was to the benefit of everyone if it was destroyed. The king and Gazef were just a bunch of goody two shoes tha failed to relise their actions would have lead to a worse outcome and allowing a civil war where the goal would be to create a new nobility out of capable individuals would be preferable. Thinking all of this what Nazarick did was neat(clean) in a way since most of the after war issues that one would expect were not a factor.

They are one of the only ones in all of nazarick who have a positiv karma value, duo to this, they felt pity for the children that were taken as hostage an so they released them. But since they were created that way, it wasn’t really there fault. That is why they got a minor punishment from Ainz.

@@gendalfgray7889 yeah but the thing about actual medievil combat is that most army break way befroe casulties ever hit more then 20 percent that happens over multiple battle and multiple period of time the goal is to win the battle and win the war not kill everyone so there a 4 in 5 chance your not gonna die at all but if you met ainz well in the battle death is pretty much it think of it this way the battle havent even started and 70k soldier are dead while the rest are fleeing for there lives while being killed off by the dark young

Well he didn't really have much else. If he tried to fight, it would be katze plains for his legions. There was no guarantee that the theocracy would rush to help him. I am sure he was going through all the options available. Being allies than later a vassal state ensured his safety and the empire's people.

Well at least after this video I finally mostly know ainz's brilliant plant. (It went right over my head when watching the series)
Just like everyone else, I love how Jircniv jumps to conclusions about the genius of Ainz. But I think Jircniv's fear and eventual submission of the empire as a vassal state makes sense when you look at it through his eyes. Even without making a mistake about Ainz' genius intellect, from Jircniv's point of view, Ainz is literally the devil with the power to easily destroy entire nations single-handedly. Ainz also has an entire army of powerful beings at his command that can also destroy entire nations. When confronted with such overwhelming power, Jircniv arrived at the logical conclusion that it was a matter of the survival of the human race that all nations unite to even have a slim chance of surviving against Ainz, should Ainz decide to just go genocidal and kill all humans.
I hope this doesn't rub anyone the wrong way, especially the UA-camr making the video, but the accent is very strong for me and I sometimes have a hard time keeping up. I would like subtitles to be available so I can keep up with what's being said cause I'm interested and I do appreciate the man behind the voice.

There is one thing i never understood from Overlord, how the hell nobles can be such weakling and survive? Say for example there was a civil war in the kingdom, in all likelyhood the King would win since he has Gazef a literal superhuman under his command? How did such a luxurious way of thinking was established when the enviroment is way more savage and an individual can obtain several times the power others have.
That's precisely why the Kingdom ended up being corrupted to the core.
Rampossa III was a good person (not willing to kill anyone) but he did not have what it takes to be a ruler in the New World.

Not exactly what i meant. What i do not understand is how they are like nobles from a world without absurd powers.
When a kingdom starts off it is faced with conflict and so the people who do exceptionaly well get rank and eventualy titles and if the next generations want promotions among other things being able to perform well in battles and wars would be ideal. So, a culture where strength and skill would be revered above bloodlines should be the logical outcome.
The only way for them to have such values is if the kingdom was at peace, which it was not since they had an "annual war"
This kind of decadence can't come in a single generation! I am starting to think that the destruction of the kingdom was inevitable and it was to the benefit of everyone if it was destroyed. The king and Gazef were just a bunch of goody two shoes tha failed to relise their actions would have lead to a worse outcome and allowing a civil war where the goal would be to create a new nobility out of capable individuals would be preferable.
Thinking all of this what Nazarick did was neat(clean) in a way since most of the after war issues that one would expect were not a factor.

They are one of the only ones in all of nazarick who have a positiv karma value, duo to this, they felt pity for the children that were taken as hostage an so they released them. But since they were created that way, it wasn’t really there fault. That is why they got a minor punishment from Ainz.
