Honestly, though Jircniv's decision to become a vassal is probably the best decision he could've made he pretty much saved the Baharuth empire from the same fate of the Re-Estize kingdom. He still technically rules the vassal state and the terms of vassalage were pretty favorable to the empire. So all in all he and the vassal empire survives and Ainz considers him as somewhat as a friend which better than most humans so I say its an overall win for him.

my personal theory is that Ainz's int score and his background (backstory) is affecting him on a subconscious level. think about it, demiurge is insanely smart and that's just with the int of a level 100 general class and backstory, imagine a level 100 wizard that's managed to literally get his mana off the charts (int and mana are usually related) not to mention the amount of spells he knows is insane even for Yggdrasil. and that's not to mention potential racial bonuses for being the highest form of undead wizardry. and then add on whatever crazy backstory he came up with for his character (roleplay guild, BACKSTORIES EVERYWHERE!!) add all that together and you get someone with an insane intellect, Suzuki Satoru might not realise it and who he was in life might get in the way but subconsciously he is being guided by himself to the best possible way to get to what he wants. he occasionally stumbles but that's because the subconscious can't do everything Suzuki Satoru needs to follow it and he doesn't always do that.
@@schaargock thanks love, i haven't seen anyone else talk about it and I was surprised, they always chucked it up to luck but that would only make as much sence if he was a rogue class or blesses by a luck diety. I have honestly felt this way myself. I mean since Suzuki Satoru inherited all of Ainz's other stats and abilities, it just makes sense that he also inherited Ainz's massive intellect as well.
What I truly love about Ains, is that he doesn't even realise how fate and luck conspire on him to succeed, even when he tries to do something good, it ends up being the most insidious and brilliant, unintentional 'plan' to ever succeed to take over a country, he's the King or Hercule of Dark Fantasy. Ok I did not expect that the remote viewing mirror has that some kind of side effect Good thing Ainz is not using it much or at all on Albedo or shalltear for if he did they will surely feel his godly presence and might have a crisis down there
On that note I want to contribute about that: First I personally dont think that people can feel anything because of the mirror itself or something like that. How it was written and said within the LN it seemed more like Jircniv had merely a really good intuition. Because he did let it check multiple times and no one found anything or even felt something (or at least ist wasnt stated in any form, which is more a point against that the mirror has such side effects). Even his problems like losing hair and his stomach ache was most likely because of stress and not the mirror. Therefore it is unlikely that the mirror had such side effects. The mirror itself isnt even THAT powerfull, because without using spells on it you wouldnt even be able to look into buildings. The reason Ainz can do that, despite the defense Jircniv did set up, is that the difference in skill and power is too vast. Despite that it is really impressive how sharp Jircniv intuition is and is another point why he is in his own right a great ruler. PS: the situation with Enris father was more that he told Enri to run away. It was stated that it wasnt directed towards anyone like Ainz
*Ainz breathes Jircniv: "Oh shit, he is the greatest mastermind ever existed." Nazarick: "1000 Steps ahead. As expected of our Overlord." Ainz: Eh...NANI?
Jircniv: Guys, I am so, so, so, SO screwed, I need to protect myself, guys, build me a bunker out of lead, kill any villager that winks. Ainz: So... this is true leadership? I shall aspire to learn from this. Human leaders are so skilled that they anticipate foes before they arise. Demiurge: Sasuga, Ainz Sama. You are pretending to adopt the flawed and erratic ruling style of that imbicile, to further sell the alliance between our nations, and blur the lines of friend and foe Ainz: I AM?!? Jircniv: Who said that? BURN DOWN THE AIR, IT'S STALKING ME Demiurge: Ah, there were even more layers of brilliance than I thought!
This was one of my favorite moments in the books. It begs to wonder if Ainz was really just lucky or was there something else that was unknowingly guiding his actions. Although some of his later conduct in the dwarven kingdom was written seemingly to balance out the overpowered luck. By having Ainz actually make a mistake that his guardians took notice to before he himself did. But was nonetheless reinterpreted as having a hidden purpose behind it by them anyway.
Maybe his incredible luck isn't purely luck. Maybe it's a side effect of his dark wisdom passive. Some abilities have changed between Ygdrassil and the New World maybe dark wisdom is one of them.
@@WarriorOfGod-8 I might be remembering the name wrong but dark wisdom is the passive that allwed Ainz to know more spells that what is normally allowed in Ygdrassil. However some skills have developed new effects in the new world. Usually these new effects tend to add to an existing ability. As an example, in Ygdrassil death knights simply spawned when the spell was used and despawned when the effect ended; in the new world you can summon death knights with the same rules but, if a corpse is used to create a death knight it never "despawns" unless it's killed. The theory that I have seen around is that his incredible luck is a side effect from his dark wisdom. The idea is that dark wisdom secretly guides him to make the most appropriate choice even if he doesn't notice.
@@rafaelagonzalezgalloza3096 well you don't really need luck when everyone is convinced that you are a god and your face is that of a skeleton and you exude such a deathly aura that everyone basically wets themselves (for various different reasons)
Okil Beta Isn’t there a theory that his abilities and stats from the game are influencing him subconsciously. So basically it’s not “luck” some much as incredible intuition and instinct.
Theory: Ainz' levels into overlord passively influence his decision making to a degree, like more subtle sort of that "calm down" passive. This is how he can consistently catch genius minds like Jircniv and Demiurge off guard, though it's a mystery to him as to why.

AIns: What did I step on... Checks under bone: Subjugation of an Empire Ains: Ugh, I just wanted a day at the Arena. Conspiracy Theory: If their psych profile is what governs the guardians and the fact Ains is being suppressed by his "specie latent ability". Furthermore, as we have seen Ains change and loose a bit more of his humanity as time goes by...wouldn't be accurate that perhaps Ains isn't just an every day man; but an every day man with a now subconcious of a Lich Lord that nudges him in the right direction?
I like to believe that Ainz's forced rollplay goes beyond simply dulling his emotions but that he's also granted a level of luck and happenstance so great that everyone who sees him believes that he is an ultimate-eldritch-machiavellian-super-genius with schemes so elaborate that even a god couldn't possibly understand his thinking.
i mean technically he is an overlord....if the world is forcing his decisions to go for the most evil path just cuz roleplay then ainz might as well go with it
In old school Dungeons and Dragons, most forms of scrying magic came with a risk of discovery. The more intelligent the target, the more likely they were to notice they were being scryed upon.
Poor Ainz, he just wanted to visit a good friend of his, beat a big monster and then advertise his adventurer guild. And then suddenly his friend asks for vasalisation of his country which will be difficult to do on the spot for Ainz so he nervouslly postpones it while wondering why did that happen. Did he do something wrong? Ainz had no idea.
My assumption has been that since Ainz was an absolute master of the game, and since this world follows closer to game logic that his world where he was just an office worker, he by default is taking actions that would work in the game that align well with the world. I specifically point out the Shalltear fight as why, he approached a 3 in 7 fight by Cocytus' best estimate and managed to nail it 100% perfectly while planning every last second including what weapon he would be on (shuffling his cash items before the fight) before his timer expired. He clearly has the ABILITY to be the mastermind he is thought to be, what he lacks is the confidence to be it. Whether that is due to lack of knowledge or personality or whatever I don't know though. It also wouldn't surprise me however if it's later explained as a passive skill he has manifesting itself, and it is explained by things like the monitoring incident is enough for his passive skill to trigger him to want to go visit because he passively realized the plot.
One thing i would like to note is that a lot of things work differently in the New World. So Ainz might not know about the effects of skills/abilities/race traits on himself - much like the undead emotional suppression. Any number of his skills could have been made more ''literal'' and given him suggestive intellect without Ainz realising. Of course they can't take over him entirely since we know that even ''undead have no emotion'' trait can be overwhelmed and not take effect. Skills that could have this hidden effect could be: -Dark Wisdom -Mind affecting immunity -Rite of Darkness -Undead Ruler Some only effect resistance but still could effect his ''calmness'' or ''reasoning''.
i mean sure dark wisdom might affect him subconsciouscly by making him make decisions that lead to the more evil ending even if he tries to do good things
What I think may be happening is that everything from Yggdrasil from skills, items traits etc. has developed new effects based on the lore behind them.
In Volume 9: Jircniv emanating confidence and healthy. In Volume 10: Jircniv fell into stress, depression and muttering of that undead monster is on another level. Why does he have to exist.
DM: Your enemy is trying to gather allies to destroy you. What do you do? Ainz: I'll go for a walk. Demiurge: *open up the letter from Jircniv* "Looks like The Baharut Empire submitted to the Sorcerror Kingdom, this is a very welcome surprise!" *under his breath* "Sasuga Ainz-sama"
You could argue that while Ains the player is slowly integrating with his avatar. A lich is known to be cunning and wicked. So while Ains the player may not know everything going on the lich side absolutely would.
and pray tell what were the cunning and wicked ideas ainz came up with pretty much all his dialogue starts with "oh my non excistent stomach hurts i have no idea what everyone is talking about "
About Jircniv getting a happy ending, it's not just that he met his to-be best friend, but also that he's now able to be in a more official relationship with the only one of his lovers that he liked (the one with whom he used to talk politics with), but couldn't marry since she didn't have a high enough status. Now he doesn't need to be troubled by that, and she doesn't mind his current less beautiful appearance. He truly is one of the few who got a happy ending even though he used to be an enemy of Ainz. Actually, he's one of the only two who got good endings after being Ainz' enemies. Him and Pe Riyuro(his best friend) are the only two to get actual good ends, with Jircniv's good ending being the best of the two.
and Jircniv don't even need to do work like before since all problem solve itself by the gloirious sentence: "Talk that directly to his majesty Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown"
This video is a good explanation what happened in season 4 episode 3. I just love when Jircniv expression shown in the anime when seeing Ainz in front of his secret meeting & him cheering on the Warrior king victory. His cheer reminded me of that kid from one punch man cheering for Mumen rider👏
Ainz: hmm I haven't seen my buddy jircniv in a while well since I'm in his empire lemme go stop by and say hey Jircniv: alright I gather you people from slaine theocracy to form an alliance to stand agai... Ainz: hey buddy how you doing I miss you oh who your new friends you got there what y'all talking about Jircniv: THAT IT I GIVE UP YOU WIN EVERYTHING I DO YOU STILL 100 Steps ahead
Kinda hilarious how this all ends up working out lmfao. Every time Ainz shows up, thousands of people die, but the rest of the population lives in absolute peace 🤣 The emperor was going insane while trying to go against Ainz, then the second he joins him, life’s all good and he is healthy again. I honestly feel by the end of the series, Ainz will have actually made a Utopia for everyone in that world(except maybe an unlucky few 100,000 people along the way)

This reminds me of Log Horizon where flavor texts are useless ingame, but becomes real. For example, lets say there's an passive ability: "Mastermind" that gives bonus mp with the description: "With great intellect, he develops a great cunning and strategic mind that all of his plans would be accomplished with the greatest efficiency whatever means are used." If this description becomes true, then even as foolish as "walking to see a friend" would make him just walk and become "friends" with whomever he met with the efficiency even surpassing his goal. Hell even if his plan in 1v1 is to "sprint and decapitate his opponent", even if he slips, his blade would still reach the neck of his opponent. The quote that I think fits AInz the best is, "Luck favors the strong."
Ainz does actually act in smart ways to grow his kingdom but albedo Demiurge and almost anyone that is smarter then him is scared to consider that they actually are smarter as it would be impossible or an offense against him.
Wish upon a star theory: Ainz have a ring that grant wishes. Ingame it let you cast wish upon a star without cost, but seeing some items have secret abilities, what if the ring is aligning the stars for ainz to his grand goal of world domination. His actual goal is to have the name of Ainz Own Goal to be well known and find players, the ring is making the world domination happen. Theory is the ring has become a passive ability rather than an active one.
I wonder if Demiurge will end up manipulating Ainz into doing things a certain way. (Like how Demiurge thinks Ainz has a grand plan but he doesn't) I don't think Demiurge will intentionally lead Ainz to do something but the way he plans stuff from what he thinks Ainz hyas already planned or wanted is kind of leading Ainz down a certain path.
Nothing like having a couple of litches, for the boring stuff. Smartest thing Jarcniv ever did. Now anyone comes against him.. ainz lends him a couple of dozen dearth knights, the troublemakers fall in line. One way or another.
Ainz truly is the Mr. Magoo of villains/conquerors. In that, despite his overall obliviousness to nearly every situation he finds himself in, he somehow always manages to fumble his way through it all.
I have a personal theory for why Ainz is so lucky. In the game, the "Intelligence" points was actually just boosted luck stats. In the New World, NPCs with high INT stats became actually intelligent people, like Demiurge. Ainz has maxed INT but he's an actual sentient player, so instead of becoming smarter in the New World, he just got so LUCKY that everyone THINKS he's super smart. The lore checks out!
UA-cam can you explain to me why i never saw a video or a suggestion from this channel ? Watched very very much videos about anime in months. F my gramma i dont speak / write english Und ich gib mir selber Daumen hoch
Funny thing that I should have noticed YEARS ago ... Ainz is effectively equivalent to King from One Punch Man. Everyone else sees these beings as paragons of power, virtue, intelligence, or whatever else is most effective at the time. Whether an actual power or not each seems able to bend reality in such a way that things work out for them. I kind of hope neither one has their mysteries revealed.
Well, about spies being close by other than Ainz, Jircniv was right since both Fluder and Leinas (the only female among the Four Imperial Knights, she's the one who's cursed) trying to get any info possible for Ainz, with Leinas doing so because she thinks that she'd have a better chance of ridding herself of her curse by switching to Ainz' side (without knowing that she would actually only need to go to E-Rantel and ask for it while pledging her services without needing to bring any info about Jircniv).
So I wanted too know How the emperor's though process changed after the battle at the plains. We saw a small Bit of hid laughing and Saying "70,000! Absurd"!! But what I'm curious is right at that moment did he give up on an idea of defeating Ainz or Was he more resolved then ever?
i actually think Ainz is extremely intelligent but he doesnt just know it or doesnt consider it all all. its like Socratic philosophy 'All i know is i know nothing' i always find magicians the most intelligent characters in light novels.... my best magic light novel is Warlock of the Magus world' Leylin is extremely intelligent so much so that it is beyond reasoning. also check Supreme Magus.

add all that together and you get someone with an insane intellect, Suzuki Satoru might not realise it and who he was in life might get in the way but subconsciously he is being guided by himself to the best possible way to get to what he wants. he occasionally stumbles but that's because the subconscious can't do everything Suzuki Satoru needs to follow it and he doesn't always do that.

Lol. More King from One Punch Man except he's actually super strong. He receives credit for things he never did, or never intended to do. I love it!
I love the comparison to King lol Ainz does seem lucky beyond belief
Well, everything happened thus far has been directly or indirectly because of him. A strategist needs to plan ahead of his enemies to not let them be able to anything that could harm him but Ainz... His very presence is the biggest bug of existence for that world.

@Colin Walker XD noice
btw I'll take 42 Gotta just place six of them in all seven rooms of my house
@Colin Walker Best comment yet!
On that note I want to contribute about that:
First I personally dont think that people can feel anything because of the mirror itself or something like that.
@Colin Walker Nice add, but I find your lag of rune weapons disappointing.

I think Ainz has a unique ability like Extraordinarily Luck.
Similar like King from (OnePunchMan), Priscilla (Re:Zero), Naegi (Danganronpa), etc...
Rafael A Gonzalez Galloza
What is dark wisdom?

Ainz is a god of many things , but god of jokes he is not.
Okil Beta
Isn’t there a theory that his abilities and stats from the game are influencing him subconsciously. So basically it’s not “luck” some much as incredible intuition and instinct.
Theory: Ainz' levels into overlord passively influence his decision making to a degree, like more subtle sort of that "calm down" passive. This is how he can consistently catch genius minds like Jircniv and Demiurge off guard, though it's a mystery to him as to why.
well if that is the case the author sure is doing prettyh poor job at conveying it for the audience as there has been absolutely no mention of any kind of this happening. Pretty sure its just a gag joke the author is all too fond of if you ask me people take overlord a tad bit too seroiusly its a dark comedy series about a salary man accidentally taking the world over
@@juusovuolle8251 I mean it's obviously one of the big jokes to Overlord. Not sure what you're getting at, if it was meant as a put-down or not, but I'm not taking it seriously. I'm just theorizing an in-universe reason as to why things so often unintentionally fall into place. It's more fun that way than writing it off as plot armor. Talking about shows is fun. It's a thing people do …
hey man you're free to have your fan made canon but I'm just pointing out that you're not basing this theory on anything the author has ever stated.
@@juusovuolle8251 What are you on about? It was only ever a "fan" theory. The very first word I typed here was "theory." You're allowed to have ideas about an IP that aren't supported by any explicit confirmation from its author, you know. You can also speculate while at the same time being aware that it's speculation. Isn't multitasking fun?
Didn't you just finish telling me that people take the show too seriously? Do you follow your own advice? There is absolutely no urgent need to swan in all confrontational-like. 4? More like 10. Ainz's blind luck in stumbling into other people's business and making their plans work for the glory of Nazarick.
Ainz: ah yes....THAT thing....well spotted Demiurge.
Ainz to himself: wtf is he talking about???
AIns: What did I step on...
Checks under bone: Subjugation of an Empire
Ains: Ugh, I just wanted a day at the Arena.
Conspiracy Theory:
If their psych profile is what governs the guardians and the fact Ains is being suppressed by his "specie latent ability". Furthermore, as we have seen Ains change and loose a bit more of his humanity as time goes by...wouldn't be accurate that perhaps Ains isn't just an every day man; but an every day man with a now subconcious of a Lich Lord that nudges him in the right direction?
When stalking was considered as "harmless observation"
I like to believe that Ainz's forced rollplay goes beyond simply dulling his emotions but that he's also granted a level of luck and happenstance so great that everyone who sees him believes that he is an ultimate-eldritch-machiavellian-super-genius with schemes so elaborate that even a god couldn't possibly understand his thinking.
i mean technically he is an overlord....if the world is forcing his decisions to go for the most evil path just cuz roleplay then ainz might as well go with it
The conquest o the Empire was my favorite part of the books.
Mine was the dwarfs kingdom... But this was second best
In old school Dungeons and Dragons, most forms of scrying magic came with a risk of discovery. The more intelligent the target, the more likely they were to notice they were being scryed upon.
@J F Exactly, not even a player would be able to find out unless he spent ability points on a counter measure.
Skills that could have this hidden effect could be:
-Dark Wisdom
-Mind affecting immunity
-Rite of Darkness
-Undead Ruler
Some only effect resistance but still could effect his ''calmness'' or ''reasoning''.
i mean sure dark wisdom might affect him subconsciouscly by making him make decisions that lead to the more evil ending even if he tries to do good things
What I think may be happening is that everything from Yggdrasil from skills, items traits etc. has developed new effects based on the lore behind them.

The emperor was going insane while trying to go against Ainz, then the second he joins him, life’s all good and he is healthy again.
I honestly feel by the end of the series, Ainz will have actually made a Utopia for everyone in that world(except maybe an unlucky few 100,000 people along the way)
This is why I love overlord so much everything he does is blown wayy out of proportion so everyone thinks he’s some incredible master mind god and but he’s just some office worker

Only ainz could accidently make a nation submit
And thanks to Ainz, this man made his first real friend XD.
Perhaps ainz has a mild case of split personality, with Momonga his character, manipulating his decisions from his subconscious

I believe the Overlord Momonga has a few passive skills that Suzuki Saturo doesnt notice

So I wanted too know How the emperor's though process changed after the battle at the plains. We saw a small Bit of hid laughing and Saying "70,000! Absurd"!! But what I'm curious is right at that moment did he give up on an idea of defeating Ainz or Was he more resolved then ever?
They are only expecting Ainz spell can kill around 5k, 10k at most. 70k was way out of their expectation + the aftermath
i actually think Ainz is extremely intelligent but he doesnt just know it or doesnt consider it all all. its like Socratic philosophy 'All i know is i know nothing' i always find magicians the most intelligent characters in light novels.... my best magic light novel is Warlock of the Magus world' Leylin is extremely intelligent so much so that it is beyond reasoning. also check Supreme Magus.
