that's awesome. I've been looking for Billy to talk about Wayne. I saw Static-X in Brisbane in 2004.

I think the whole Metal being passe during the Grunge and Alternative movements is not fully correct, as Alice In Chains were a Grunge band that had massive Metal influences and elements in their sound, as did Soundgarden.
You had Metal bands becoming successful because of the Grunge scenes success, bands like Pantera, White Zombie, Fear Factory, Prong, Machine Head, Tool and crossover like bands in Biohazard, Life Of Agony, Helmet, Quicksand that had Metal elements as well as Hardcore elements.
So this idea of Metal being passé during the Grunge and Alternative movements is not correct and doesn’t tell the whole story, the only Metal stuff that was passe during that time was the Hair Metal, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal stuff from the 80’s, because the 90’s was a decade that was about being Anti 80’s, but Metal as a whole wasn’t passe and in fact a lot of Metal bands in the early to mid 90’s became successful because of the Grunge and Alternative movements.
