This time we are having a heavy weight wrestling between some of the best Marshall In A Box pedals. Please leave a comment below which one you like the best. ☺ 🤘
Thanks man, this was helpful. Love my Fender Twins clean tones but would love an overdrive pedal to put in front of it that would give me a more Plexi overdrive tone.
To my ear, they were all decent in the lower gain demonstration, but things changed as you got to medium and heavier settings. I'd rank them like this (in my opinion based on how you had them set): 1. Tsakalis (seemed to have the most organic tone - more amp like), although they were all very close and solid pedals in general:: 2. @+ (I own this as well as the Tsakalis and it's a dark pedal - I'm going to try some of your settings); 3. RevivalDrive Hot Rod (Solid, but sometimes a bit fizzy sounding to my ear. Depends a lot on what amp it was modeled after of course); 4. LPD 87 (Sounded more like a pedal than the others to my ear - a bit too perfect in a way).
you have a very good ear man🤘 yes, the tsakalis was the most organic in my opinion as well but way too compressed on the highest gain. The LPD is just too perfect as you said, but I liked it actually. The RD is a Hot Rodded version so it is a bit more fizzy than the regular RD but I liked that one the most actually. But the @+ is just the best all rounder, not the best in a specific thing but it is pretty decent on all gain stages...
@@ToneChaseBasement I can understand what you mean about the Tsakalis. I like it, for example, on a crunchy hard rock 80's rhythm cover tune, but I'd prefer something else for leads. I have the PAL800 coming in a few weeks so I'm curious to try that one, and the Sinvertek is a bit pricier than I'd like. The @+ sounds quite a bit more open with the settings you were using, so thanks. I had kind of set that one aside without digging in too deeply, as it reminded me more of a bluesbreaker tone almost. But, with the EQ and AIR turned "up" it stats to open up a bit in the high end and that gives it more Marshall Plexi character.
I would’ve expected PedalPal’s offerings to be included in a shootout like this, since this is their bread and butter. Any reason they’re not? Maybe they weren’t available to you, or you weren’t a fan of them?
not really accessible where I am located... Also, they are a very small pedal company offering only through Reverb as far as I know, but here I was focusing on pedals available worldwide that can be found in most music stores...
I have the tsakalis, the at+ and the revival drive. The Tsakalis is the best but I really like to switch to the other one sometimes, in particular the revival drive in preamp mode. Anyway, all of them are outstanding with a bonus to the Tsakalis.

I just started running a pedal pal 800 v4. What a monster, especially with the 34 mod. These all sound good too!
I just tried that one a couple weeks ago, it is a great one...
Strat Crunch: LPD// LP Crunch: JHS// LP High Gain: LPD// Strat High Gain: Tsakalis... Overall super impressed with that LPD wow
The LPD is really great and not only the sound but the feel of it when you play it... its very responsive to your playing...
Great video, thank you!
you are welcome 🙂🙌
LPD Eighty7 plus gets my vote :)
Good to hear some familiar riffs in this video again :)
good choice!
