I love the economy stuff sometimes more than the standard issue. Has a lot more personality to it. That and it shows that in total war, compared to what a lot of reenactors think, things were not mass produced perfectly the same.

A video about 37 pattern Webbing?.....today is a good day.
It being about variants is just icing sugar and a cherry on the top!

The valise strap marking looks like J & A H Ltd. (J&A Hillman, Derby); the L strap looks like HHC Ltd. (H.H. Carroll & Co. Ltd.)

I love cobbiling together various bits of webbing from different systems to make my own custom sets

I recently bought a set of L straps, I ended up having to buy the buckles separately, and no metal tips on the ends though with brass hooks, and on one of them has REGD. No.639521 on it. I bought them to use with a Netherlands m52 large pack, I figured out the packs origins thanks to one of your videos. I DON'T plan on Reenacting with it , but now it is useful for camping now. Thank you again I always enjoy when you upload a new video.

I have a Map case in the Raincoat material (early pattern )and a 37 pattern Pistol Ammunition pouch in the khaki canvas material, a Rifle Sling ( it is now as hard as a rock unless warmed in water so it becomes soft again, a pair of L straps, the lower straps being normal webbing also several pairs of Right and Left braces all made in three pieces.
I have a stitched in type brace in normal Webbing, all have brass fittings.

I wonder if the 41 dated economy webbing was part of the emergency replacements post Dunkirk. With so much equipment left behind. I imagine many troops would have dumped their webbing, or were ordered to. If just to save space on the small boats for men. As many 10s of thousands of web sets would take up a lot of space and weight, especially when wet.

    Hello there from Austria.
Why is it called economy/ERSATZ? Why a german term for british items?

Do you know what items i should buy first for reenacting british WW2 NW europe? I've just gotten into reenacting and i checked out a couple of your older videos about the british kit and haversack. I currently don't own any british kit from WW2 but would like to see if you could give me a few tips and what i should buy first as i don't want to be spending too much money at the moment. Thank you and great video!
