I love making those kimono style tops! Super easy and quick. Almost fool proof, very beginner friendly and they generally end up looking good. Also, as an avid crocheter, I'd be super bummed if I made something like that gigantic table cloth, just to have it end up in a thrift store. HOWEVER! If I knew it was going to be repurposed into clothes, I'd be very happy about it. Great upcycles 💜 Edit: don't let any of the crochet go to waste. Turn the off cut circles and edging into a cute, simple summer/boho purse. Of course it will need a lining, but it will look spectacular, I'm sure.
Are you freaking kidding me??!! You're absolutely perfect for Diy!! $6 dollars fashion 1000% better than the example you showed! Brutal!! I loved it 🥰👏👏👏
OHmygolly!! I have my grandmothers linen table cloths. Neither my sister or myself have a ginormous dining table like she did. So what a fabulous way I can upcycle my grandmothers table cloths!! Love, love, love!!!
Are you freaking kidding me…… This is awwwwwwwwwwwwwsome🥰🥰🥰 love, love, love it. So many ideas came to me……..especially to colorize the circles and use them for so many additions to jeans. You are theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee best DIY Designer🥰🥰🥰. Tip: you obviously had to re stitch the inner seam you opened in error…..soooooooo….. To make it easier…..I’ll open that entire inner seam for both legs …..THEN have easier access to the outer seams to add the lace panel….then re sew the inner seam……..🤗🤗🤗
I was talking to my friends this week about hand crafted items like doilies and tablecloths that really no one is making anymore and most people don’t have the need or appreciation for. But it’s really a dying art form and shows how our world has drastically changed that it is dying. So it is fabulous to think of being able to use those items as fabric and create clothes out of them. Gorgeous result
Orly, you have me so stoked!! I can draw and I have the vision..I'm going to get a sewing machine! I have to! Thanks for waking up my drive..I needed to be inspired!
Very cute! Love the 70's vibe! Love your creativity and your presentation of your process! You are an inspiration to those of us who have been wanting to dust off our sewing machines and get back to making clothes we really love to wear!! Thank you, Orly!!
Where was this last week, when I did exactly the same project including opening the inseam and accidentally sewing the back to the front of one leg 😂. Thanks for all your inspiration
Oooooohhhh, love the jeans! I'm totally going to try this. And Orly is on the Today Show! It's cool seeing you with Jenna and Hoda! That embellished jacket Jenna is wearing is so beautiful ❤️ Congratulations!
I love, love this idea! It's so beautiful and adorable! You really help to inspire me to look at things differently and all the possibilities that things could be other than a tablecloth! I have a lot of lacey curtains so could you do the same idea with curtains and possibly make it into a lacey dress? Keep up the good work!!
Only you could turn an oatmeal colored, lace tablecloth into a stylish garment! Not quite my style, but it turned out really good 👏👏👏 Have fun at the Today Show - looking forward to the Vlog!
Where is the sparkly purse diy?!?! I’m HERE for this set too!!! I saw a doily blanket like this and at the thrift store. It was a bit pricey, but now I think I should go back for it!!!
What special laundry instructions to keep the crochet from coming undone on all the cut edges? Glue them all ? Or will it distress like woven raw edges ? Even hand wash might result in the circles becoming separated and threads undoing unattractively. I crochet.
Oh, Orly, you just… (Fans eyes and holds back fake tears in an epic Drama Queen moment, lol) You just solved 2 problems for me. I’m not the best sewer, but since I’m plus size, I always see cute pants or skirts and think, man, if I could just add another panel of fabric on the sides of it, I could make that fit me. Thanks to you, I now have a no-sew or kinda-sew way to do that! Also, I always see these beautiful tablecloths in Goodwill, but since I don’t want to get it dirty by inviting a whole bunch of people over for dinner (plus I don’t have enough people I like enough to cook for them (kidding, not kidding, lol), I just think it’s wasting such a beautiful piece of art to JUST be put on a table where nobody can really see it. I always think piece like that should be “wearable art” so that it can be appreciated by the masses. Again, thanks to you, I’m going to be broke because I’m going to go to Goodwill and grab whatever tablecloths I can find like yours and turn them into wearable art!!! Thanks, Orlyyyyy!!!!!😁
I LOVE the table cloth and almost cried when you cut it up...until...you made what you did!!!! I too, love making things with individually. doillies... individual ones...my mom's, my mother in laws...thrift shop finds. I don't live in L.A. anymore, but I visit often as I'm not too far away. Can you you give the name and address of your thrift shop...pretty please? Also, the name and address of your "trim shop, downtown, garment district????? It seems you find the coolest stuff there. Take care Orli...your channel is the best...love it and refer it to everyone!!!

Could you recreate Anthropology’s PatBO fringe trimmed vneck dress?? It’s so pretty but so expensive 😩. You’d rock it.
The 👖 is just wow , love 💕💕💕💕💕💕 but the jacket is new styling but for me way too short . I loved when it was long but it was so lovely 🌹
