Purcell is such a refreshing player to watch. Not all super boring ground strokes but an extremely variable and entertaining play!! Kudos! Love that slice forehand.
lmao, a week ago at Queens people on here were saying Fritz has no legs on grass and then he wins Eastbourne now. How quickly things can change. Go Fritz!
Excellent, yayyy for Fritz!!! One note for Purcell though, he started out the season really intense with the serve and volley, that’s what gave Rune so much trouble in Brisbane. I feel like if he really invested himself into that technique, forcing it from his highly successful doubles career into singles and fully committing to it, the success he is already having will just increase.
He tried doing that, but players just take pace off the ball and go lines. His game style now with the slice works well on grass, but im not sure its going to translate to hardcourt season.
Now this is the Taylor you love to see. Hiring that serve with authority which gives the rest if his game (which has improved across the clay season) confidence! I'd surprised if we didn't have a few Americans on the 2nd week. ❤
Feel a bit bad for Tommy, didn't get to play a match as US #1 before Taylor leapfrogged him... although he did get the higher seed at Wimbledon out of it.
When fritz smiles he looks like he's ready to kill someone XD. He could be a really good guy too, but I feel like he just makes a lot of facial expressions that put fans off haha.
Wow, grass court fritz is almost unbeatable, serve like that and forehand, not one breakpoint, maybe Sinner or Alacaraz have a chance but will be tough
"Sinner or Alcaraz MAYBE have a chance"??? Bruh Fritz on his A game would still lose to Sinner/Alcaraz on their C games on any surface, including grass. Last year Sinner made the semis of Wimbledon and he's twice as good now, and Alcaraz literally won it. Meanwhile, Fritz lost in the second round lol
@@TraeBeneck Did you see the highlights and statistics of the game all week? Alvaraz play not bad on grass but lost last week not amazing match, let’s be realistic
@@tennisone6376 I did indeed. I just think it's hilariously unrealistic to say that Fritz could be a bigger favorite than Sinner or Alcaraz. Guess we'll find out in a couple weeks
I'm all for longer highlight videos, but is there ever a need to include missed first serves, routine errors on inconsequential points, and uncut hawkeye challenges?
The sponsor of the British sparkling wine insisted Fritz to hold up the trophy AND the wine! What a doofus! To make the 8 min highlight, some footage of the service faults must be included.
Both 250 finals were speedy affairs ahead of Wimby. Slower Than Drag Queen's but faster than Wimby, Bourne Identity's grass was Tailor-made for Fratz's game. Macy's Inc. had his whole Herald Square crew courtside, so he knew he wasn't allowed to put in a discount performance that would allow Purloin to snatch the title. Poor Duracell was out of energy, but after Eastie, he's no longer in danger of falling outside the T100. Grass came in the nick of time.
Fritz saying "Shame on you" towards the linesman who called the last ball out, that was later corrected by machine to have been in (On the outside of the one) leaves me with a sour taste. It shows that Fritz does not understands the part he is playing in the game of tennis and likes to put blame (in the midst of his great win) on a person doing a really difficult job. All and everyone gets things wrong sometimes, not the least Fritz himself, so why this blaming?
if u r a Fritz fan then u will notice he under-delivers. His angles are not as acute as Djokovic, Tsitsipas or few others.... his game is most is both sides of T which affords an opponent to prolong game and tire him
I’m an American and Fritz is my least favorite us tennis player we’ve ever had. His movement is always so sloppy as he’s not just very athletic. He gets lucky with draws and has a decent serve. He’ll definitely never win a major for sure though
@@sbrons1 Friend, he only has 7 titles in his career. There's no point in counting the finals, because he didn't win them. He is 27 years old and only has an ATP 500 and an ATP 1000.

You don’t have to like him but your judgment is clouded.
Fritz is a beast when he can focus. Purcell has nothing to be ashamed of, he's had a wonderful performance this tournament.
A beast against atp 74 or 96😂😂😂
Congratulations for Fritz, it is a well earned title that he worked hard for, I hope he goes far in Wimbledon

Excellent play from Taylor Fritz and commiserations to Max Purcell whose transition to singles from his doubles success is working well.

No one has had consistent success playing an S&V style in the modern game.
He tried doing that, but players just take pace off the ball and go lines. His game style now with the slice works well on grass, but im not sure its going to translate to hardcourt season.
