I agree, i really like how after mothra interfered with the 1v1 Godzilla was less reluctant to fight with kong and like you said he prioritized getting kong out of that pickle rather then destroying the crystal. I really appreciate when they actually show that he is intelligent and not some mindless lizard
I don’t think he really cared about either since he already had a chance to destroy the Crystal since he was holding it earlier and the novel describes that Godzilla was actually having some fun with the fight which shows him not taking it seriously.
Godzilla bagged him a shorty at the end 😂that was the crazy detail at the end we laughed at in the theaters
