Kelly Letavola-Taylor re-lit my love for alcohol inks then my inner Jennifer kicked in and I smooshed, such pretty backgrounds! I pressed and wiggled and wow! I also added foil and that really made the pearls pop! Thank you for the accidental collaboration.
“I don’t have any white scrap cardstock left”. This statement confuses me!!!!! I swear I have scraps for days! 🙂. Absolutely love these ideas!!!! Great job Jennifer!
CAN NOT WAIT to try this…I have two dies that will be perfect for this technique, one is a Nativity scene that I think will be so wonderful with that night sky look, the other is a scrambled Happy birthday die that makes a square card , I am going to try a glitter or metallic paper for the overlay. This could easily be addictive. Thanks Jennifer, sorry you and your daughter have been sick, will send some prayers your way!
beautiful backgrounds is the only words I came up with. I love using alcohol inks, the are so forgiving. I even use inexpensive photo paper that works great. Thanks for using these inks again and for sharing this 2 for one technique.
Okay, had the stuff so had to try right away. Note that I am neither expert nor particularly talented, so my comments should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. First, I left the sandwich together for at least 5 minutes and got much better results. Second, hated the puffer tool...I really wanted those striations. Waved a full size sheet of cardstock about a foot from the yupo, and I was very pleased with the results. Jennifer has taught me to play and not be too hard on myself. I love her videos!
The first cards were so amazing and then you pulled out the black city silhouettes and WOW! The black looks even more amazing against those amazing sky alcohol ink prints. Stunning.
Black Friday I bought 4 pkg of 8x10 Yupo 25 sheets/pkg at JoAnn’s for half price. Have been busy making Xmas cards but can hardly wait to play with my alcohol ink backgrounds. I used to do this technique on glossy paper with a product called Luna Lights back about 2001. Hadn’t thought of this with alcohol inks. These backgrounds will be fantastic with the new Tim Holtz/Simon Says Stamp Santa’s sleigh die I got on Black Friday as well. Thanks for this video. Hope you and your family have a great holiday season!!
Your creativity just amazes me…..who would think to smoosh 2 pieces together? Such beautiful results! I think you were reading my mind…I just watched Tim’s videos about the pearl inks and the alloy inks last night and ordered them. It’s been awhile since I played with alcohol ink and you both have inspired me!
Wishing you lived closer is perfect for my daughter who lives a four hour drive away ! The card is spectacular ! Keep on crafting' Jennifer. 🙋 Nana in se OK usa
Great technique, I even have all the stuff to try this! Since I am usually not happy with my alcohol ink results, this might fix what I don't like. Twisting the lift-off looks cool.
My afternoon is open for crafting and I absolutely LOVE alcohol inks...I will set up a special table and get right to it! Perfect timing. These are great designs and cards.
Jeniffer, your tutorials are so beautiful that I never would miss any because you always have that patient to go step by step and explain so clearly and how you turn your tutorials in whatever theme you choose into cards that are so beautiful. I love your tutorials and never get bored watching them. I really appreciate your projects, thank you so much and wish that you and your family have a wonderful holidays. God Bless your talent.
Yeah i was going to say that with the alloys it looks like Aurora Borealis. So pretty. And the with the shadow die cut, it gives you your dimension too.
Love to see the ways you've made alcohol ink backgrounds...and then made beautiful cards with them. I suppose my favorite is the city with the lovely "lightening" look background showing through the circular cut out...and those gorgeous "twinkling" stars. I have one question though. You mentioned that you would link the Misti Pressure Tool in your supply list but I'm not finding it there. I was wondering though...this must not be like those "Chuckie" pressure thingies...because I don't think I'd want to use one of those with the felt bottom to press down images that have glue on them. My husband actually made one for me. He made a beautiful wooden square and put a lovely crystal door knob that I found at Hobby Lobby. It has a nice felt bottom on it and it sure saves on my hands and wrists when I use my Mistis for pressing inked stamps onto my cardstock. I wouldn't use it for pressing anything with glue on it though. Is there an actual Misti Pressure Tool?? Thanks so much for sharing your gifts of creation with all of us. Love every single video I've ever watched of yours. May God continue to bless us, the crafting world, with your teaching us!!
The folks at MISTI haven't made one. This is one that I like: www.etsy.com/listing/979132639/the-original-3d-printed-rubber-stamp?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=misti+tool&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&bes=1
Always love watching your techniques but as I was watching I had an idea. After you put the two sheets together instead of lifting straight off how about giving it a twist and then removing it 😍 may give a really cool effect! Merry Christmas 🎄
you can do this smooshing with nuvo drops too - but it's thicker and doesn't move as much - and it leaves bumps - but actually really pretty look - i like to die cut them. now i'll have to try my alcohol inks!!
Love these!! My recent alcohol ink experience was not so great. Will try this and see what happens! I’m curious....I can’t remember if you had a video on this but is there a way to make 2 dies that one might already have....(say a row of houses and a circle die) and put them together to make your own window die? I think that would be fab! TYFS ❤️🦋💜
Those backgrounds are awesome. And your cards are so beautiful!! Love the one black silhouette die cut neighborhood, with the white ones off set behind it. It just looks like it has light glowing from behind. Love all the little details on your cards. I'm still intimidated by alcohol inks. Which is crazy... Cause what can go wrong right?
I Love the alcohol ink look but I'm so afraid I'll spill something or drop the container on the floor. I really need to get over my fear and just do it. Thanks for the smooshing idea. Such a great and cool look.
Absolutely stunning! I think some of my favorite cards of yours!! Darn it- I wasn't supposed to buy anything for myself this month but you can't beat the value of Hero Arts kits and I need more alocohol inks too! You have truly inspired me!!!
the 'Wishing we lived closer' one makes me think of West Side Story, a favourite musical
I love playing with alcohol inks, there's just so much great looks you can get.
Never thought of using two shadows, one up and the other down. Perfect thank you!
Love those looks. They look like the Northern Light skies. So cool.
That's what I was thinking too!👍
Very unique cards using Alcohol Ink. I love this .Thanks for this video.
Absolutely beautiful technique and cards💖💖💖
Adding two background layers to create a shadow...Brilliant! Just tried this with a sentiment and it came out great!
Those lovely streaks in the ink remind me of dendritic prints.
Kelly Letavola-Taylor re-lit my love for alcohol inks then my inner Jennifer kicked in and I smooshed, such pretty backgrounds! I pressed and wiggled and wow! I also added foil and that really made the pearls pop! Thank you for the accidental collaboration.
The grey streaks totally remind me of the Aurora Borealis! So pretty.
I really really like all these beautiful cards. Ur creativity is just on another level. Thanx for the inspiration ✌🏽
“I don’t have any white scrap cardstock left”. This statement confuses me!!!!! I swear I have scraps for days! 🙂. Absolutely love these ideas!!!! Great job Jennifer!
How beautiful! The ink background really looks like the aurora borealis! You are the most creative lady! Holy moly! Merry Christmas, & happy holidays.

Hero Arts has great city scenes. Your ‘sky’ views are so pretty!
Those backgrounds are so amazing. I really can't wait to try the alcohol inks in time.

Tried this technique today and it was fun and forgiving. Don't love it-add something and smoosh again. Thanks so much!

Beautiful and so like northern lights. Thanks for sharing.
I love, love, love alcohol inks! I never thought about smooshing the papers together, that’s brilliant! (I love your manicure!)
Your manicure is gorgeous!
It reminds me of aurora borealis! A look we try to emulate with much work, this is stunning..
Great technique, I even have all the stuff to try this! Since I am usually not happy with my alcohol ink results, this might fix what I don't like. Twisting the lift-off looks cool.
Wow, some really cool tips and tricks here, not seen this one before, thank you! xoxo

Beautiful cards! I love playing with alcohol inks. I will definitely be trying this technique. Thanks for sharing.
Jennifer, I am going to have to buy the pearls ink and try this technique. You always knock it out of the park.
I Love both techniques but I like the one with the felt pouncing the best. I got some really nice results trying it this way. Thanks for showing us!
WOW! Fantastic cards . Love how you did the backgrounds. Thank you.
Every time I see art made with alcohol ink, I want to try it. I didn't saw this smoosh effect earlier so thanks for a great video again!

You are so welcome
These are FABULOUS, Jennifer!
Girl your killing my pocketbook…but I love all of these
Using the foiling technique on them would be pretty also
Hi Jennifer. You have given me renewed confidence to use my alcohol inks. Must get some pearl. Just wondering if I can heat emboss on yupo paper
Wow, amazing technique.
These are fabulous but what would happen if you ran a comb through the inks when wet would it hold or just blend like it does when using the air?
Fantastic results Jennifer.👏😊💕
Thanks so much! 😊
Merci beaucoup, c'est super beau !!!!
Beautiful Jennifer. Going to try that lift ink.
Have fun!
Wonderful techniques and cards as always, but I really wanted to tell you your nails look fabulous! Merry Christmas to you and yours -
Thank you! You too!
you can do this smooshing with nuvo drops too - but it's thicker and doesn't move as much - and it leaves bumps - but actually really pretty look - i like to die cut them. now i'll have to try my alcohol inks!!

Hi Jennifer. You do love playing with alcohol ink, but so do I. I usually get carried away with the alloys. Lol
It's only paper lol
I Love the alcohol ink look but I'm so afraid I'll spill something or drop the container on the floor. I really need to get over my fear and just do it. Thanks for the smooshing idea. Such a great and cool look.
Love this for sky backgrounds! I will have to try! Thank you❤️
Have fun!
