    Hello everybody, in this video I'm going to be going over my thoughts on the all too common question of "What product should I use for my hair?"
    You guys are definitely getting smarter by realizing the importance of looking into your hair type and understanding what your hair needs, but the next step is using that knowledge and selecting a hair product that is suitable for your hair type.
    In classic Jesse's Barbershop fashion, I humbly present to you my explanation on all these different products that are available, from the perspective of a hairstylist who's been in the industry for too long.

    Jesse! just want to say that I've been (subbed and) following you since last fall. It's been so hard finding advice for hair like ours, and no one does this content like you - it's so gratifying to watch your channel grow. I know you'll be big time one day, don't forget us day-one OGs when you get there!!

    Awesome Video! My Mom was a Hairstylist, Color Consultant, and Model for Clariol, and she taught me so much! I have Curly, Fine, Dense Hair! I found I needed moisture, and a Gel, to stop my hair from Frizzing!

    as a guy who owned and used more than 100 hair products (mostly clay/wax/paste/cream/pomade), I completely agree with you. THe variation is large. Can't precisely point out one "type" of product that surely fit a specific hair style...

    Could you possibly do more tips for the 4A to 4C hair types? I have 4A (sometimes 3C), coarse, and highly dense (really hard to see scalp when parting) hair that is sometimes hard to manage and make it look clean. I don't think I have actual frizz per say, but because of my hair type, it always looks that way. Kxdsheldy (youtuber) has a very popular look that a lot of guys with my hair type envy, but he isn't a hairstylist, so I'm curious about your opinion and recommendations for 4A/4B/4C hair and what are some good looks to go for.

    I’m honestly struggling on which hair product to use on my medium to long hair and there aren’t any videos about which products not to use . Like is oil based pomade ok? I feel it may pull off hair that I’m trying to grow but I don’t know if that’s just me. As for taking care of my hair I’m doing a better job now knowing about what’s in shampoo and conditioner is are best friend . Would like to see something on what shouldn’t be use on hair while growing out.

    Hey Jesse. I've looked around on UA-cam but seems like I can't find an answer. When you use a styling product at the start of the day, do you wash/shampoo at the end of the day? The reason I'm asking is because since December last year I've been growing my hair out. And almost everyone said not to wash and shampoo your hair too often when trying to grow your hair long. Much appreciated bro.👊

      @78nailbomb - I’m not a professional, but I have long hair and I regularly sleep with pomade and hairspray in my hair for up to 3 nights and haven’t had issues. However, I don’t reapply hair spray daily because I’m worried about it being visible (I have black hair) or creating flakes from excessive product buildup. Some leave-in conditioners cause me acne so I don’t use them. I’m not sure about other products, but maybe try it out with what you own and see if you have any issues (acne, etc) and only wash your hair with shampoo if you’ve been working out or it feels dirty. Hope this helps.

      @@muffycrosswire2757 Yeah. I had slept with styling products before when I had shorter hair. Caused some issues over time with my scalp. Bad itching, redness and inflammation. Not doing that ever again. My hair is just going out of it's awkward stage. It's not that bad looking without any styling products now. Maybe I use some on my last day before my wash. I'm just curious considering my bad experience, how someone can not wash at the end of the day after using styling products. Guess some are just luckier then others. Much appreciated bro. 👊

    Bro I have almost the same hair type as yours, you're just overwhelmed and "overusing" products. All I did is used a good quality Coconut oil 🥥 that's literally it!

    • @aliasrai
      @aliasrai 3 роки тому

      I have the same and coconut oil doesn't work. I don't think any oil would help my hair be healthy and smooth.

      I don’t want to use any chemicals on my hair to style it .... do you use coconut oil to style your long curly hair ? Pl advise thanks

    • @aliasrai
      @aliasrai 3 роки тому

      @@RoDo13 Depends, i think. My hair is coarse and dry so coconut oil makes it look ugly and any other oil too doesn't help. It probably should work on hair with smooth and fine texture.
