+Andie Rathbone Yes, the wardrobe dept. did the new Mrs. Cord a real disservice with those 60's mod/matronly outfits & bad hairdos. She dressed like a young mother of the bride. She needs to let it go and maybe gain some weight back.
+SoapsNthings I was starting to adore Martin. What he did to Lee was unimaginable to me. Once Sandy and Chris left, Lee seemed to make a life shift and his feelings for Martin seemed often touching. He was also at his best as an actor in those scenes.
Michael Doran I totally agree with everything you said. What Martin orchestrated for Lee was simply reprehensible. And as you mentioned, Lee had already shown a more human side of his character and seemed to care for Mr. Peyton in a grandfatherly sort of way. It just stunk. :-( My favorite scene between Martin & Lee was when Lee stood in Martin's bedroom doorway and watched as Martin did some exercises.
+SoapsNthings it's difficult to imagine a 22 year old woman having been married twice, (which if you're keeping track, is how old Rodney and Betty are), so I imagine that the wardrobe was a way to keep that in mind without a lot of extraneous dialog
Really? Have you been watching the show she’s been through a lot of trauma & can’t just turn it off. Hope your lack of empathy doesn’t extend to real people.
Rita's oversensitivity is kind of getting irritating, what does she want finally, Norman to dump her? He makes clear that he wants her very much, so what on earth……..
democolor42 It is irritating! If they're finally taking Rita & Norman off the backburner and writing a storyline for them, why not something a little more interesting than this??
Rita probably has PTSD which is resurfacing with her postpartum depression. Lee was a thug but I don't remember him paying too much attention to her, unlike Joe who seems to be manipulative, taking advantage of her weaknesses. Joe's manner toward her is triggering her.
@@rhondabitler2461 I feel sorry for him too. He is doing his best, but he needs to understand that her behavior has nothing to do with him. She was sexually assaulted numerous times before meeting Norman. He experienced the effects of this right from the start, while they were dating, because she was definitely conflicted about being close to him.
That Joe was awful to Rita! What a trouble making creep!!!!!!!
Rita is pushing it
Now that Betty is almost divorced from Steven, she's looking lots less formal & more her age. It's a good change.

lee was guilty
Jill is very much like this actress in terms of her speech pattern Joey Heatherton very similar and you can find some of her videos on UA-cam
Rita is beating a dead horse with the Joe Chernak issue. Enough already. Let it go!
Been thinking the same thing. Seems a little unrealistic.

That’s because she did valley of the dolls her hair is the same
Yes Clive Homer Betty became the glamorous Gillmore girl . Love VOTD! The movie was just being released to theaters when this episode of PP aired.
She was doing both and VOD was filmed in the same area/lot as PP.
Rita needs to grow up!
How do?
Poor rita!!!
Is that indie music Joe is playing? lol
What was the name of the other minister that Betty had a date with?

funny how Rita didn't react to Lee Webber in a similar fashion..i guess all it took was the name 'Joe' to send her into a tailspin...

@@kopachuk08. 👏👏👏. A lot of unsympathetic amateur psychologists in the comment section!
knock it off, Rita
What song is this?
I doubt it is anything in particular and likely done especially for the show. I doubt they could get the copyright to use regular music of the era.
Rita will lose Norman if she doesn't snap out of it.
Rita needs therapy
Is Norman henpecked? Now I'm starting to feel sorry for Norman.

@@kopachuk08 Yes and she didn't have the greatest father either.

She is in turmoil.
