- Here is my take on the Kiwi Ears Division. These are a very competitively priced closed back headphones which use 40mm dynamic drivers and are priced at $50 USD.
There is also the Ellipse which are a open back design from Kiwi Ears which use 50mm dynamic drivers and they are priced at $60 USD.

Happy to help.
I'm happy to see the budget headphones market finally seeing some new, worthy products. :D
Purely judging by the FR, I think the FiiO JT1 would be a better comparison to this, since it's tuned similarly (bassy).
Like the Takstar Pro82, I think MSRP is somewhere ~$69, so more expensive than the Division.
I do prefer the JT1 over the Pro82 when I demoed it though!
Pro82 has less note weight and is slightly sharper/more detailed but the JT1 is a more engaging, relaxed listen for pop/electronic IMO.
But the Pro82 also comes with that overkill case... :)
How are the jt1s? I used to have these cheap headphones that I loved for soundstage but the ear cups were definitely not deep enough. And also how're they holding up? I've heard alot of bad things from a recent fiio headphone
@Unlucky1776 I don't own them myself, I've only briefly tried them, so my impressions are only based on a few minutes of usage...
Soundstage-wise, the JT1 is merely okay. Can't speak for its build quality.
@L-in-oleum ah I see thank you.
I have not tried that or seen the FR but the Pro model of that looks good. I always thought the Pro 82 was cheaper so that is a shame. Shame I don't have any closed back Sony ones either.
Also happy new years!
Happy new year fella!
Could be a good option for me on my laptop, only worry is my watermelon head!
Happy new year matey 🤩
You to pal. Your watermelon head should be fine lol
Classical and stylish design.
I need one for fashion item.
ok
I like that there's a graph already. Look V-shaped indeed. Bass is crazy elevated though 😄
I have not seen a graph.
Might have to check out the open backed version if i decide to get these!
I might try and request those.
The looks is quite reminiscent of the Tascam TH300X (and all its derivatives if any) though this time there's another potential point of failure added in. If performance proves moderately pleasing or at least similar if not better to it's "source" I simply hope the hinges would remain usable for quite an extended period of use, but simply looking at it through this video... Considering my experiences with simllar type of "purchase and forget" types of headphones like these I'd say 5-6 months of regular (with care) daily use.. That hinge will give in, I hope I'm wrong though.
Good point and I will add any issue I have with this in the video description or even a new video.
I bought these and am astonished by your comments on the sound; particularly that you are happy with the tuning. The set I got have massively boosted bass, particularly in the 90-150 Hz region. UA-cam reviewers who have measured them show a full 10 dB boost in that region...10 dB (twice as loud) over the Harman Target which already has bass boost. They sound to me most like the original Monster Beats headphones...it is overpowering. I owned the Takstar and they sound nothing alike. Nor do they sound like the Fiio JT-1, which has fun tuning but not a boost like these. I am confused by this. About 1/2 the reviews mention or graph this massive bass boost. And 1/2, like yours, describe just a slightly fun tuning. On UA-cam check out GREQ Reviews at 4 minutes to see one of the graphs. How do you explain this? Are 1/2 the reviewers crazy or shills, or is there another issue?
I am not a shill as I don't benefit from it as I am impartial as they come. From using this I am still happy with my review.
@@VortexReviews1 I do not think you are a shill. You are obviously experienced listener with a passion for audio. That is the source of my astonishment. I cannot explain how someone with your expertise did not mention a massive 10 dB boost in the Division's mid base frequency response in their review, but rather said they were fine with the tuning. Multiple reviewers confirmed this measurement, and that amount of bass boost would be obvious to anyone who compared their sound to any other headphones. Are you really happy with that? Do you have some curiosity as to how this could be? Perhaps there was a manufacturing flaw in some of the Divisions. Or, perhaps our hearing is more prone to bias and we are less impartial then we believe.
@@ggroch I have no idea about the QC but as they are a cheaper pair of headphones there could be some differences with the tunings. I am kind of a bass head and everyone has different opinions of the sound. Have you ordered these or own them?
Am wondering how does it compares to UGreen HiTune Max5c (headphone) as IEMs user.
(i tried to comment on other people's post but YT kept hiding it)
Yes I agree!
I don't have that one unfortunately and it looks like you need the app for the full functionality. Also it is BT and this one is wired so it's a bit different.
Next plz review kiwiear eclips too. New openback from kiwiear
I don't have it but I will try and request it.
What 4.4mm cable do I need to get them balanced?
You need one that terminates at 3.5mm at the headphone end.
How about the Phone Call mic quality of Kiwi Ears Division ???
mic ? it's headphones not a headset...
Hasta que número diría que llega la extensión de los agudos?.
Over 12k maybe. Seems good.
Is it better than the Moondrop 's budget hp?
The joker?
If you mean the Joker and yes it is.
@@VortexReviews1 thank you!
@@VortexReviews1 Yeah I meant the Joker, forgot the name. Thank you!
@@AronAddams7 No worries.
Hope it sounds better than the M50x, that thing gave me migraine.
Never tried that one.
@VortexReviews1 Haha you didn't miss anything
@@Helmond2017 I try not to lol. I have not tried any closed AT models but I don't think I am missing out : D
man idk what to think about headphones rn, ive just got a new pc and im at my desk more than ever so i might try out a cheap pair before buying these. looking at ugreens offering since ive heard good things about them rn
ok and which Ugreens?
@@VortexReviews1 On my behalf, i wish to get your opinion on HiTune Max5C on the perspective of IEMs user.
Whether it is worth getting for those who have experienced TruthEar Hexa, Zero/Red, Simgot EW200, KZ EDC Pro, ZS12 Pro X, and so on..

Quite similar
Ok headphone without EQ, even considering the price tag. Impressive once you dial up EQ.
Nice, what do you change?
